Abstract

This study examines the relevance of Muhammad Iqbal's Islamic philosophical thought to Islamic education in the modern era. Iqbal, as one of the greatest thinkers of the Islamic world, made a significant contribution to the understanding of the relationship between religion, education, and intellectual progress. In his view, education is not only aimed at creating technically skilled individuals, but also to shape character and deepen spirituality. Iqbal's thought emphasizes the importance of integration between science, faith, and the formation of self-awareness (selfhood) in the Islamic context. This paper will identify several key concepts in Iqbal's educational philosophy, such as the concept of "Khudi" (self-awareness), the development of human potential, and thoughts on the role of religion in intellectual progress. This type of research is a qualitative literature research that examines theory in depth to get conclusions. The results of this study show that the relevance of these ideas is analyzed in the context of Islamic education today, which is faced with the challenges of globalization, technological advancement, and cultural pluralism. It is hoped that the results of this analysis can provide new insights for the development of more relevant and holistic Islamic education in the modern era, which is able to bridge the gap between traditional Islamic values and the needs of contemporary society.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the many conflicts that occur in the current Islamic educational institution environment, both in terms of learning and educational administration. The purpose of this study is to find out conflict management in Islamic educational institutions using Islamic and contemporary approaches. The method of this research is to use a literature study study. The result of this study is that the occurrence of conflicts in Islamic educational institutions is something that is common, considering that Islamic educational institutions are still continuing to carry out the process of improvement in their systems and mechanisms. Conflicts also arise because they are caused by the unpreparedness of facilities and infrastructure that support their implementation and the existence of differences and contradictions in the implementation of the implementation mechanism of Islamic educational institutions, even conflicts also arise because of conflicts in the behavior of practitioners of Islamic educational institutions themselves. In an Islamic perspective, conflicts must be managed properly so that they become a force for the better and can facilitate the implementation of a stable and consistent education system. One of the postulates in conflict management in Islam is contained in Q.S Annisa verse 35, which explains that conflicts must be overcome and solutions must be found. Meanwhile, in the current contemporary approach, conflict management can be done by utilizing science and technology as a tool to minimize and normalize everything that is deemed necessary to reduce and resolve conflicts that occur. If conflicts are left unattended and not managed with appropriate conflict management, it will have a bad impact, especially on the success of Islamic educational institutions. The Islamic and Contemporary approaches are two viewpoints that can help resolve conflicts that occur in the environment of Islamic educational institutions. In other words, Islam is a religion that is always present to provide solutions to all problems, including conflict management. However, on the other hand, it is also necessary to look at the current situation and conditions by looking at the development of the increasingly advanced times, of course it is necessary to solve problems by considering the conditions in the current contemporary era.

Abstract

This research discusses the importance of the role of Islamic education in the modern era. The foundation of Islamic education, namely the Qur'an and Hadith, is the main reference for reform after renewal in the context of its implementation of the development of education in the Islamic world which continues to develop. In Indonesia itself, the implementation of national education is regulated in Law No. 20 concerning the National Education System. No less important, the reform is certainly inseparable from the role of Islamic figures who struggle through their thoughts so that Islamic education continues to go hand in hand and not be left behind even though the times continue to develop. The purpose of this research is specific to one of the figures of Islamic modernization, namely Ibn Khaldun. From his perspective, Ibn Khaldun gave criticism as well as improvement of the Islamic education system. In this context, Ibn Khaldun conveyed his ideas regarding the modernization of the educational process. In this study, Ibn Khaldun's thoughts on his views on the concept of modernization offered as a form of realization by the Indonesian nation itself as outlined in the National Education System Law, and also its implementation on the development of Islamic education in Indonesia. This type of research is included in qualitative research (library research) which examines a theoretical and in-depth study so that conclusions will be obtained. The results of this study show that there is a conformity between Ibn Khaldun's thinking views regarding the concept of modernization offered to its implementation in the management of the Islamic education system. Its relevance to the current Islamic education process is that Islamic education should not only be directed to theoretical understanding, but also need to be faced with social reality, systematic teaching materials, maturation of the foundation of Islamic values, so that a generation that is able to be competitive in Indonesia in today's modern world is born. Not only that, the thought of modernizing Islamic education offered by Ibn Khaldun also has an impact on the policies taken with the goals and values agreed upon in the regulations in accordance with the demands of the times.
