Abstract

Career planning is an important thing that can help students understand themselves better and gain a better understanding of career information. In determining a career, students need information about careers to use as alternatives that suit their interests and talents. This research is based on students' lack of understanding about careers, causing students to often experience confusion in choosing a career. Career cards are a fun and interactive medium that can increase students' understanding of careers. These career cards are considered a promising approach to enhance career planning in a fun and effective way. The method used in this research is RD development research where researchers develop a product and produce new products and test them. The research subjects were high school students with data collection techniques using questionnaires.

Abstract

Diabetic Foot Ulcer (DFU) is a serious condition prevalent among diabetic patients. Due to its minimal side effects and cost-effectiveness, herbal remedies have garnered attention for DFU treatment. Many researchers are exploring effective herbal treatments. Bibliometric analysis serves as a tool to understand research focus and trends and identify extensively studied or underexplored herbs. In this study, publications related to herbal treatments for DFU were obtained from the Scopus database, where 90 articles meeting the inclusion criteria were analyzed using Vosviewer 1.6.20 software. The analysis was conducted using co-occurrence methods on titles and abstracts to provide an overview of herbal research for DFU, while co-occurrence methods on keywords offer a more detailed focus. Based on keyword analysis, the most frequently cited herb in the 90 articles over the past 10 years is Aloe Vera. Meanwhile, the analysis of titles and abstracts indicates that the most cited terms are "Angiogenesis," "Ointment," and "Infection." The findings of this study are expected to guide researchers in further exploring the potential of herbal treatments for DFU, thus contributing to the development of more effective and efficient therapies for diabetic patients suffering from foot ulcers.

Abstract

The traditional use of faloak (Sterculia quadrifida R. Br.) stem bark as an effective treatment for various diseases has led to its widespread cultivation and collection. Therefore, this study aims to determine the correlation between the intensity and color variation of faloak stem bark with its antioxidant activity and phytochemical content using chemometrics analysis. The study procedures were carried out by collecting samples from different locations in East Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia. Stem bark intensity and color variations were then associated with chemical profiles of extract produced. Chemical profiles analyzed were Total Phenolic Content (TPC), Total Flavonoid Content (TFC), and antioxidant activity as measured using the DPPH, b-carotene bleaching, and CUPRAC methods. Subsequently, the data were subjected to multivariate statistical analyses utilizing Principal Component Analysis (PCA) and Cluster Analysis (CA). The results showed that color variations on faloak stem bark had no significant impact on cluster formation. CA and PCA showed grouping according to gray value representing color intensity. Meanwhile, PCA revealed significant correlations between gray value of faloak stem bark extract and TPC, antioxidant activity, and extract yield, with TFC having no association. Based on these results, color detection system could be developed to facilitate S. quadrafida bark collection as herbal medicine raw materials in the field.

Abstract

Rambutan (Nephelium lappaceum L.) is a widely distributed plant in various regions and is known to contain flavonoid compounds. In pharmaceutical development, the geographical location of plant growth can influence the levels of secondary metabolites. This study aims to determine the total flavonoid content in rambutan leaves based on differences in altitude using UV-Visible spectrophotometry at a wavelength of 435 nm. The leaves were extracted via maceration using ethanol p.a. as the solvent. The total flavonoid content was determined using AlCl₃ reagent with quercetin as the standard. The results showed that rambutan leaves collected from lowland areas (Komo Luar Subdistrict, Wenang District, Manado City) had a higher total flavonoid content (42.7 ppm) compared to those of highland regions (Kampung Jawa Subdistrict, Tomohon City), which contained 30.4 ppm. These findings indicate that plants grown at lower altitudes produce higher levels of flavonoids, possibly due to increased light intensity and climatic conditions, which promote the synthesis of secondary metabolites such as flavonoids.
