Abstract

The Competency Test for Medical Professional Program Students (UKMPPD) is the final stage to assess student competence before getting a professional certificate . Failure to pass the UKMPPD is influenced by several factors . This research aiming to identify and analyze the factors that influence failure to pass the Medical Education Program Student Competence Examination (UKMPPD), with a focus on academic readiness , learning methods , and individual factors such as stress , motivation , and social support . The research method included a literature review of various previous studies discussing failure to pass medical competency exams . The analysis results show that academic readiness which includes understanding the material and practical skills is very important to achieve satisfactory exam results . In addition , learning methods that do not match the exam format as well as individual factors such as high stress levels and lack of social support also contribute significantly to failure to pass . This research suggests improving more active and realistic learning methods as well as providing adequate emotional support to reduce future failure rates .

Abstract

Cancer is one of the leading causes of death worldwide. Breast cancer is one of the more common in women, which appears as a malignant tumor in breast tissue consisting of mammary glands, milk ducts, connective tissue, and adipose. This study aimed to compare the effectiveness of radiologic modalities in the early detection of breast cancer, focusing on grayscale ultrasound, mammography and MRI examinations. The research method included a literature review of previous studies that discussed the comparative effectiveness of radiologic modalities in the early detection of breast cancer. The analysis showed that mammography, ultrasound and MRI are the imaging methods used to detect breast cancer, with each having advantages and disadvantages in terms of sensitivity and specificity. MRI has the highest sensitivity, especially for detecting small tumors and in women with dense breast tissue, but has lower specificity than mammography. Mammography, despite the use of radiation, is effective for early detection, especially in women with high risk factors. Ultrasound is often used as a follow-up examination or to evaluate lumps detected on mammogram.

Abstract

Nausea and vomiting (emesis) are typical joint symptoms in pregnancy. Nausea usually occurs in the morning but can also occur at any time of the night. Nausea and vomiting occur in 60-80% of primigravida and 40-60% of multigravida. Emesis gravidarum can interfere with daily activities and can even be dangerous for the mother and fetus. One of the complications of nausea and vomiting during pregnancy that is very dangerous for pregnant women and can have an impact on maternal and fetal death is excessive nausea and vomiting that continues to become hyperemesis gravidarum. Nausea and vomiting during pregnancy are felt by 50%-90% of pregnant women. Nausea and vomiting generally only occur in the first trimester of pregnancy, but 20% of women experience these symptoms throughout pregnancy that can interfere with daily activities. Quasy experiment with Pretest Posttest One Group design with 13 respondents. The work subjects of this study have a junior high school education level, all pregnant women are multigravida, and the majority are IRT. It was also found that the mean age of the research subjects was 26.0 ± 5.29 years and had a gestational age of 9.69 ± 2.28 months. The results showed that before the intervention, the average frequency of nausea and vomiting was 8 ± 2.34 times, while after the intervention, the average frequency was 5.0 ± 1.87 times. In addition, there was a decrease in the frequency of nausea and vomiting after the intervention by 3.0 ± 1.77 times. In this study involving 13 respondents, it was shown that the administration of 200 mL of ginger drink with a frequency of twice a day for one day was effective in reducing the intensity of nausea and vomiting in first-trimester pregnant women

Abstract

Elevated blood sugar levels that exceed the established normal limits are a typical symptom of diabetes, a metabolic disorder. Traditional medicine is said to have fewer side effects than modern medicine, which has led to its long history of being favored by many people diagnosed with diabetes. People often use ginger as an herbal remedy for hypoglycemia. Ginger can be used as a natural antidiabetic drug due to the antiglycemic effect of its flavonoid content. To determine the comparison of blood glucose levels of mice (Mus musculus) given water decoction of ginger (Zingiber officinale) with metformin.Experimental research with pre and post test randomized controlled group design There was a decrease in the average blood glucose level of mice (Mus musculus) given water decoction of ginger (Zingiber officinale), from ±185.5 mg/dL to ±136.17 mg/dL, but not as good as metformin, which decreased from ±191 .17 mg/dL to ±108.67 mg/dL. Water decoction of ginger (Zingiber officinale) can reduce fasting blood glucose levels in mice (Mus musculus) although not as well as mice (Mus musculus) given metformin.
