Abstract

Badminton merupakan salah satu olahraga yang digemari oleh seluruh kalangan usia. Namun, manajemen dalam pemilihan waktu dalam berolahraga merupakan salah satu hal krusial karena dapat berdampak pada perubahan kadar Creatin Kinase (CK) sebagai biomarker penanda kerusakan otot. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kerusakan otot pada atlet badminton yang berlatih pagi dan malam hari. Dalam penelitian ini didapatkan bahwa respons individu terhadap olahraga malam dan pagi dapat bervariasi. Faktor-faktor seperti jenis olahraga, intensitas, dan kondisi fisik individu juga berperan penting. Menurut beberapa literatur, olahraga dengan intensitas tinggi pada malam hari dapat meningkatkan risiko terjadinya kerusakan otot karena pengaruh ritme sirkadian, diantaranya, hormon kortisol yang berperan dalam regulasi inflamasi dan perbaikan jaringan juga cenderung lebih rendah di malam hari. Namun, reaksi adaptasi yang baik pada atlet terhadap biomarker penanda kerusakan otot dihubungkan dengan usia biologis, durasi latihan, distribusi serat otot, kapasitas daya tahan serta faktor lingkungan yang turut berperan penting dalam kelelahan dan kerusakan otot. Reaksi adaptasi terhadap latihan malam juga dapat mengurangi risiko kerusakan otot seiring waktu. Pemanasan yang tepat, intensitas latihan yang sesuai, waktu recovery yang cukup, nutrisi dan hidrasi yang baik juga mempengaruhi respon individu terhadap biomarker penanda kerusakan otot.

Abstract

Elektromiogram (EMG) adalah teknologi yang merekam aktivitas listrik otot dan semakin banyak digunakan dalam bidang Sports Science, terutama untuk rehabilitasi cedera olahraga. Artikel ini membahas peran EMG dalam membantu pemulihan cedera atlet melalui pemantauan aktivitas otot secara real-time. Dengan kemampuan untuk mendiagnosis cedera otot dan saraf, memberikan biofeedback, serta menilai teknik latihan, EMG memungkinkan proses rehabilitasi yang lebih akurat dan cepat. Selain itu, EMG berperan penting dalam mencegah cedera ulang dan meningkatkan performa atlet. Penggunaan EMG dalam rehabilitasi cedera seperti ACL telah menunjukkan hasil yang signifikan dalam mempercepat pemulihan dan memperbaiki stabilitas otot. Teknologi ini diharapkan terus menjadi elemen kunci dalam pemulihan cedera dan peningkatan performa olahraga di masa depan.

Abstract

Physiotherapy education required optimal mastery of psychomotor skills, yet conventional learning was often hampered by limitations in time, access, and practical equipment demonstration. This activity aimed to improve students’ literacy and skills in using physiotherapy equipment through the socialization of the Physio.Learn website, which featured educational videos. The implementation method employed an educational-participatory approach conducted online, consisting of material preparation, socialization via Zoom, website demonstration, interactive discussion, and feedback evaluation. A total of 139 Physiotherapy students from Universitas Negeri Makassar participated in this activity. Survey results indicated that 72.1% of participants rated the video explanations as “clear” to “very clear,” 83% found the visualizations highly helpful, and 92.4% perceived the videos as beneficial in enhancing understanding. Ease of access and website design were also positively rated by the majority of respondents. These findings reinforced evidence that the integration of digital media based on educational videos effectively improved students’ understanding and skills in using physiotherapy equipment, while promoting more flexible and participatory independent learning. The development of interactive features and improvement of content quality were recommended for future platform optimization.

Abstract

Background: Javelin throwing is a complex athletic skill that requires strength, speed, balance, and proper release mechanics. In school settings, many students struggle to master these fundamentals due to limited practice time, lack of effective learning media, and insufficient development of the physical abilities needed to support throwing performance. Objectives: This study aimed to examine the association between circuit training and improvements in javelin throwing performance among junior high school students. Methods: A quasi-experimental one-group pretest–posttest design was employed involving 60 junior high school students in Makassar. Javelin throwing performance was assessed using a validated rubric covering technique, power, distance, and rule compliance. An eight-week circuit training programme was implemented, and data were analysed using descriptive statistics and paired-samples t-tests. Results: The findings showed that the mean javelin throwing score increased from 73.00 ± 13.72 (pretest) to 82.10 ± 13.28 (posttest). Paired-samples t-test results indicated a statistically significant difference (t(59) = -20.83, p < 0.001), with a mean improvement of 9.10 points and a moderate-to-large effect size (Cohen’s d = 0.68). This magnitude suggests a practically meaningful improvement in students’ throwing performance within a school-based context. Conclusion: Circuit training was associated with improvements in javelin throwing performance and shows potential as an instructional strategy in physical education. However, the absence of a control group limits causal inference, and future research should employ controlled designs to confirm these findings and examine long-term skill retention. Practically, the results support the use of structured circuit-based activities to optimise limited instructional time in school physical education settings.
