Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic proves that healthcare capacity and equipment are not sufficient to handle a pandemic, especially the availability of ventilators. Composed of more than 17.500 islands, 6.000 of which are inhabited, Indonesia’s demographic varies widely from one area to another. Health infrastructure in many areas is minimal, with many having no hospitals but clinics with limited resources/funds and minimally-trained healthcare professionals. The need for domestically produced ventilators is clear. But not only that, there is a need to produce simpler/more economical ventilators that are affordable and simpler to operate. This paper will discuss the basic ventilator (resuscitator), built upon MIT Open Design (used by clinics/smaller hospitals) and was in the last development phase before product testing at Balai Pengamanan Fasilitas Kesehatan (BPFK) Jakarta.

Abstract

This research examines the challenges faced by regulatory bodies in enforcing license revocation for companies that violate employment laws. Despite the critical role of license revocation in ensuring compliance and protecting workers' rights, regulatory bodies often encounter significant barriers, including legal ambiguities, resource constraints, corporate resistance, political pressures, and complications arising from globalization. The primary objective of this study is to investigate these challenges and assess their impact on the effectiveness of license revocation enforcement. Using a qualitative approach, this research analyzes case studies, interviews with regulatory authorities, and a review of relevant legal frameworks. The findings reveal that unclear legal standards, insufficient resources, and external pressures significantly hinder enforcement efforts, allowing some companies to evade penalties. The study concludes that regulatory bodies need clearer legal frameworks, more resources, and stronger public support to enhance enforcement. This research contributes to a deeper understanding of the obstacles in labor law enforcement and offers insights for future policy improvements and cross-border regulatory collaboration.

Abstract

This community service program was carried out at SMAN 11 Garut with the aim of enhancing students’ speaking skills through the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) using the “Speaking with Stimuler” approach. The activity was conducted in two stages, namely the delivery of materials by the service team and a hands-on practice session facilitated by the students. The results show that the integration of AI in speaking practice contributes to improving students’ language abilities, fostering more interactive learning experiences, and reducing repetitive burdens in the teaching process. Despite several challenges such as the need for continuous training and readiness of supporting infrastructure, the program proved effective in increasing students’ enthusiasm and competence. This activity highlights the potential of AI-based learning models as an innovative method to strengthen speaking skills in the context of secondary education.
