Abstract

This research aims to analyze the mathematical reasoning abilities of grade V students at SDN 5 Mejobo on ratio and diagram material. The method used in this research is a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. The subjects of this research were grade V students. Data was collected through mathematical reasoning tests, interviews and observations. The research results show that students' mathematical reasoning abilities in understanding the concept of ratios and diagrams are still at a medium level. Some students are able to apply the concept of ratios in various problem contexts, but most students have difficulty interpreting and making diagrams correctly. Things that influence this reasoning ability include a lack of understanding of basic concepts, a lack of practice on varied questions, and a lack of use of learning media that supports understanding the concepts of ratios and diagrams. Based on this research, it is recommended that teachers increase the use of interactive learning media and provide more varied practice questions to improve students' mathematical reasoning abilities.

Abstract

This community service program was carried out at SMAN 11 Garut with the aim of enhancing students’ speaking skills through the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) using the “Speaking with Stimuler” approach. The activity was conducted in two stages, namely the delivery of materials by the service team and a hands-on practice session facilitated by the students. The results show that the integration of AI in speaking practice contributes to improving students’ language abilities, fostering more interactive learning experiences, and reducing repetitive burdens in the teaching process. Despite several challenges such as the need for continuous training and readiness of supporting infrastructure, the program proved effective in increasing students’ enthusiasm and competence. This activity highlights the potential of AI-based learning models as an innovative method to strengthen speaking skills in the context of secondary education. Abstract

Introduction/Main Objectives: The purpose of this study was to improve the learning outcomes of fourth grade students at SD 5 Karangbener on the material of ethnic diversity and local wisdom through the application of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model with diorama media. Research Methods: This research used a Classroom Action Research (PTK) approach carried out in two cycles, with steps of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Finding/Results: The results showed that before the application of PjBL, only 26.32% of students reached the Criteria for Achievement of Learning Objectives (KKTP). After the application of PjBL in the first cycle, the percentage of completeness increased to 57.89%, and in the second cycle it reached 89.5%. In addition to the quantitative improvement in learning outcomes, observations also recorded student participation and enthusiasm in the learning process. Thus, it can be concluded that the application of the PjBL model supported by diorama media has a positive effect in improving students' understanding of the material and fostering a positive attitude towards cultural diversity. Conclusion: This research recommends the use of PjBL as an effective learning method at the elementary level.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low critical thinking skills of fifth-grade students in science learning, particularly on the topic of the respiratory system. Students still had difficulty analyzing problems, providing appropriate reasons, and connecting concepts with real-life situations. Therefore, this study aimed to analyze the effectiveness of implementing the Project Based Learning model supported by diorama media in improving the critical thinking skills of fifth-grade students at SDN 1 Mejobo on the respiratory system topic. The study employed a quantitative approach using a one-group pretest–posttest design to measure changes in students’ abilities before and after the treatment. The research subjects consisted of 23 fifth-grade students. The instrument used was a critical thinking skills test administered before and after the treatment. The data were analyzed using the Shapiro–Wilk test, Paired Sample t-Test, and N-Gain test.The results showed a significant difference between the scores before and after the treatment. The mean pretest score of 38.8696 increased to 75.0000 in the posttest. Based on the results of the Paired Sample t-Test, a significance value of 0.001 (0.001 < 0.005) was obtained, indicating that H₀ was rejected and H₁ was accepted. These findings indicate that the average critical thinking ability in science learning after the implementation of the Project Based Learning model assisted by diorama media was significantly higher than before the treatment. The improvement in students’ critical thinking ability, indicated by an N-Gain score of 0.5952, was categorized as moderate, showing that the implementation of the model was fairly effective. Abstrak Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa kelas V pada pembelajaran IPAS, khususnya materi sistem pernapasan. Siswa masih kesulitan menganalisis permasalahan, memberikan alasan yang tepat, dan menghubungkan konsep dengan situasi nyata. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis efektivitas penerapan model Project Based Learning yang didukung media diorama dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa kelas V SDN 1 Mejobo pada materi sistem pernapasan. Penelitian dilaksanakan dengan pendekatan kuantitatif menggunakan rancangan one-group pretest–posttest untuk mengukur perubahan kemampuan siswa sebelum dan sesudah perlakuan. Subjek penelitian terdiri atas 23 siswa kelas V. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa tes kemampuan berpikir kritis yang diberikan sebelum dan sesudah perlakuan. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji Shapiro–Wilk test, Paired Sample t-Test, dan uji N-Gain. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya perbedaan yang signifikan antara skor sebelum dan sesudah perlakuan. Rata-rata nilai pretest sebesar 38,8696 meningkat menjadi 75,0000 pada posttest. Berdasarkan hasil uji Paired Sample t-Test, diperoleh nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,001 (0,001 < 0,005), sehingga H₀ ditolak dan H₁ diterima. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata kemampuan berpikir kritis IPAS siswa setelah diterapkan model Project Based Learning berbantuan media diorama lebih tinggi dibandingkan sebelum perlakuan. Nilai peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis IPAS sebesar 0,5952 berada pada kategori sedang dan menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model tersebut cukup efektif.
