Abstract

The Gembong River is a river included in the longest watershed in Pasuruan City with a length of 7.5 km. The estuary of the Gembong River is relatively wide, so it is used as a traditional port. However, the river flow in Pasuruan does not meet the quality standards for class two due to the large number of pollutants from the household and industrial sectors. Based on the results of observations that have been carried out in the Gembong River estuary area or the Pasuruan City port area, it can be seen that there is still some waste, ranging from household waste and plastic waste from snack wrappers. The method used in this study was descriptive qualitative. Data were collected through observation and interviews with 36 respondents. The instruments used in collecting data were questionnaires and interview guidelines. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. Primary data in the form of analysis of data results regarding aspects of knowledge, attitudes, and actions of the community towards efforts to maintain river sustainability. Secondary data in the form of water quality index and its parameters in the Gembong River estuary area. The results of this study showed that based on the results of the water quality test analysis, it can be seen that the Gembong River is included in the river with lightly polluted criteria. awareness and behavior of the community around the estuary of the Gembong River or the port of Pasuruan City is quite good. However, there is still a need for optimization of the government's work programs in conducting socialization and involving the community in the prevention or control program for river pollution, so that it is hoped that the community can actively participate in protecting the environment.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the design of laboratory activities (DKL) for field trips activities in the Ranca Upas heterogeneous forest and to provide solutions through reconstruction. The significance of using the field trip method to enhance student learning outcomes and environmental awareness. The Ranca Upas heterogeneous forest was chosen as a field trip location because it has high micro-diversity and abundance. The DKL was designed to examine the interaction between biotic and abiotic factors as well as the inter-component interactions in the heterogeneous forest. This study employed a qualitative descriptive method utilizing the Analyze, Create, Try, and Reconstruct framework. A survey of the forest locations served as the basis for developing the DKL. The design of the DKL was informed by the survey results and analyzed using the Novak-Gowin Vee Diagram rubric. A trial was conducted to assess the suitability of the DKL in real field conditions. The results of this trial were then analyzed, leading to a reconstruction of the DKL based on challenges encountered during the trial. The reconstruction process included refining the tools used, preparing more structured activity steps, and developing more comprehensive practicum questions. This research has implications for the development of higher-quality and more effective field trip DKLs, ultimately aimed at improving students' science process skills and critical thinking abilities.

Abstract

The implementation of the Tengger tribe's local wisdom in biology learning was known still limited, particularly in Pasuruan. Science learning based on local wisdom can strengthen students' understanding by enhancing their interpretive abilities in interpreting natural phenomena and symptoms. The philosophical values of local wisdom can reflect, provide positive direction for students in learning, and innovate in efforts to support educational for sustainable development (ESD). Method used in this research was qualitative with data collection methods are literature studies, observation, and interviews. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. Data processing technique uses data triangulation. There are four main findings: 1) Analysis of the correlation between Tengger tribe's local wisdom, science, ecosystem material, and learning objectives. 2) Collaboration of Tengger tribe with stakeholders. 3) Analysis of the implementation of ethnoscience and ESD in biology learning. 4) Implementation of the Tengger tribe's local wisdom in biology learning as an effort to support ESD. From the discussion, it was concluded that Tengger tribe's ethnoscience, the local potential of Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park, and collaboration of Tengger tribe with stakeholders have great potential to be used as student teaching materials in biology subjects on ecosystem material and as an effort to support ESD

Abstract

Praktik pembelajaran yang kurang efektif menjadi salah satu penyebab siswa mengalami pemahaman konsep yang kurang. Miskonsepsi merupakan konsep dari dalam diri siswa yang tidak sesuai dengan kaidah konsep ilmiah yang sesungguhnya. Miskonsepsi bersifat persisten, sulit diubah, dan dihilangkan dalam beberapa konsep. Maka, diperlukan usaha untuk mengidentifikasi miskonsepsi siswa pada setiap materi pembelajaran. Salah satu instrumen untuk mengidentifikasi miskonsepsi siswa yaitu tes diagnostik tiga tingkat . Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengidentifikasi miskonsepsi siswa SMA pada materi ekosistem. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu deskriptif kuantitatif. Sampel penelitian menggunakan purposive sampling dimana siswa yang menjadi responden merupakan siswa yang belum pernah mempelajari materi ekosistem di tingkat SMA di Kota Pasuruan sebanyak 31 responden. Kriteria profil miskonsepsi siswa menggunakan instrumen tes diagnostik tiga tingkat mengacu pada (Gurel, 2015). Hasil pengujian miskonsepsi pada materi ekosistem di salah satu SMA di Kota Pasuruan, diketahui presentase paling tinggi terdapat pada sub materi definisi dan komponen ekosistem dengan presentase 38%, aliran energi 26%, interaksi antar komponen ekosistem 24%, dan daur ulang biogeokimia 20%. Kriteria ilmiah konsepsi , miskonsepsi positif palsu , dan miskonsepsi negatif palsu siswa memperoleh rata-rata 10%, kurangnya pengetahuan memperoleh presentase sebesar 19%, dan miskonsepsi 28%. Pengembangan instrumen diagnostik three tier test dapat digunakan untuk mengetahui miskonsepsi siswa dan menjadi alat evaluasi bagi guru untuk merancang pembelajaran agar siswa dapat memahami konsep ilmiah dengan benar.
