Abstract

This study investigates integrating Al-Quran values into STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) learning and its impact on student achievement in science competitions at MAS Darul Mursyid Medan. Although many broadly recognize STEM education as fostering critical thinking and problem-solving skills, the challenge lies in merging these technical competencies with moral and ethical development, particularly in religious educational settings. Previous research has focused on the benefits of value-based education. However, people need to understand better how to practically integrate Al-Quran values into STEM and their effect on competitive academic performance. This study addresses this gap by analyzing the relationship between Al-Quran values and student performance. Researchers used a quantitative research design to collect data through structured questionnaires from a purposive sample of 100 students. The data was analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS. Results indicate a significant positive effect of Al-Quran values on student achievement in science competitions. The high reliability and validity scores reinforce the robustness of the findings. This study has important implications for educators and policymakers, highlighting that integrating religious values into STEM curricula can enhance intellectual and moral development, thus preparing students for academic success and real-world challenges. Future research could explore other religious values in different educational contexts and their influence on broader educational outcomes.

Abstract

The purpose of this article is to examine how is the PAI teachers’ perspective on Educational Democracy. Where this article used qualitative as an approach. Education as a right for all mankind, is seen as a unifier in social life. Education is not only a way to become a better individual, but also seen as an increase in a person's status. In this case, it becomes an interesting discussion related to educational democracy which views education as being for everyone without siding with one group only. Educational democracy is also in line with Islamic views. This is an important study on how to implement educational democracy from the perspective of teachers, especially Islamic Religious Education teachers in schools. A teacher's perspective on equitable education is a benchmark for the success of educational democracy in schools. This article presents interviews with two Islamic Religious Education teachers at elementary school 200515 Padangsidimpuan as a form of their perspective on educational democracy and also observations as a form of deepening information about educational democracy in schools.

Abstract

Darul Mursyid Islamic Senior High School (Madrasah Aliyah Darul Mursyid) is an Islamic educational institution that plays a significant role in shaping the educational landscape for students at the secondary level. Understanding the current curriculum implementation practices—including teaching methods, assessment systems, and educational outcomes—is essential for evaluating their effectiveness and identifying areas for improvement. The curriculum is a vital component of the education system, serving as a guideline for the teaching and learning process. In madrasahs, the curriculum not only includes academic content but also emphasizes the inculcation of religious and moral values. This article aims to analyze the implementation of the curriculum at the school and the challenges encountered. The teaching methods at Madrasah Aliyah Darul Mursyid are likely influenced by traditional Islamic educational practices, which emphasize the study of religious texts such as the Qur’an and Hadith. This is a common characteristic of the madrasah-style education system, which focuses on traditional Islamic sciences. The assessment system in Islamic educational institutions like Madrasah Aliyah often includes both formative and summative assessments. These assessments are designed to evaluate students’ understanding of both religious and secular subjects. The integration of contextual teaching and learning approaches, as observed in other madrasah environments, can also be applied to enhance science learning outcomes. The success of curriculum implementation can be measured by students' ability to apply their knowledge in real-world contexts and their readiness for higher education or vocational activities. The purpose of this study is to identify and gather information regarding the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum at Darul Mursyid Islamic Senior High School.

Abstract

The politics of education, which is essentially efforts and activities that refer to and are relevant to the formation and development of educational policies to achieve effective educational goals, has a close relationship with educational figures in its implementation. In this article, one of the Islamic educational figures who contributed greatly to Islamic learning such as hadith learning is Sheikh Ali Hasan Ahmad Addary, with the aim that the Islamic educational figure can be examined in developing education. This will then be raised in the discussion and review of relevant literature on the object of this article. Qualitative research with a literature review approach is raised in this work as a form of examination of the traces of the contribution of the educational figure Sheikh Ali hasan ahmad addary in developing Islamic education which in this case is centered on the Mandailing region as the base and origin of this Islamic educational figure. Abstrak Politik pendidikan yang pada hakikatnya merupakan upaya-upaya dan kegiatan-kegiatan yang mengacu serta relevan kepada pembentukan dan pengembangan kebijakan pendidikan untuk mencapai tujuan pendidikan yang efektif memiliki kaitan yang erat dengan tokoh-tokoh pendidikan dalam implementasinya. Dalam artikel ini diangkat salah satu tokoh pendidikan islam yang berkontribusi besar dalam pembelajaran keislaman seperti pembelajaran hadis yaitu Syekh Ali hasan ahmad addary, dengan tujuan agar tokoh pendidikan islam itu dapat ditelaah sepak terjangnya dalam mengembangkan pendidikan. Hal ini kemudian akan diangkat dalam pembahasan dan kajian literatur yang relevan akan objek artikel ini. Penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan kajian literatur diangkat dalam karya ini sebagai bentuk telaah terhadap jejak kontribusi tokoh pendidikan Syekh Ali hasan ahmad addary dalam mengembangkan pendidikan keislaman yang dalam hal ini dipusatkan pada wilayah Mandailing sebagai basis serta asal dari tokoh pendidikan islam ini.
