Abstract

Jawa Pos-Radar Lawu is part of the Jawa Pos Group which is oriented towards presenting important, interesting, and up-to-date information from various regions around Mount Lawu. Despite being less than a year old, this media outlet is dedicated to producing creative content through digital platforms. This is reflected in the diverse topics chosen periodically, which are based on their potential to be viral. This study aims to examine the virality of creative content on Jawa Pos-Radar Lawu’s digital media as a strategic approach to public communication in the context of the information and communication technology revolution. The researcher formulated two main research questions: (1) What factors contribute to the virality of content on Jawa Pos-Radar Lawu’s digital media? This study employs a qualitative approach, with the researcher serving as the primary instrument for data collection.  The research involves gathering data from the following sources: (1) content documents with the highest visitor numbers, (2) visitor statistics from March, April, and May, (3) recorded interviews with key informants, and (4) direct observation of Jawa Pos-Radar Lawu’s digital media. The data analysis process includes three stages: data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions.  The findings indicate that the virality factors exhibited by Jawa Pos-Radar Lawu align with Berger's six theories of contagion: social currency, trigger, emotion, public, practical value, and story. The most dominant principles used are trigger, emotion and story.

Abstract

Literature is an eternal cultural representation in written form. The novel Haniyah and Ala at Teteruga’s House was written by Erni Aladjai to perpetuate the culture of eastern Indonesia. This study aims to describe the living equipment and technology in the novel. This is interesting because novels are attached to relics that are rarely owned by modern society. The anthropological theory of literature is assisted in exploring the culture of life tools and technology. Descriptive qualitative research methods are applied to find cultural aspects in each storytelling of the novel. Furthermore, the data collection technique of observing, reading and taking notes is carried out as a step before conducting content analysis. The results of the research findings are the existence of living equipment and technology such as (i) clothing, (ii) shelter, (iii) relics, (iv) weapons, (v) production objects, (vi) transportation in the form of boats, and (vii) agricultural equipment. Through these findings, it can become a cultural discourse for readers, as well as a scientific anchor regarding local wisdom and locality.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze, identify, and describe ecofeminism in the novel Perempuan Laut based on ecofeminism theory. In popular ecofeminism theory, women’s existence can be seen from three perspectives, natural ecofeminism, spiritual ecofeminism, and socialist ecofeminism. The method used in this study is descriptive qualitative. Data collection techniques are done by note-taking and document analysis, while the data analysis technique used is descriptive analysis. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that in the novel Perempuan Laut by Usman Arrumy there are three forms of ecofeminism, namely: (1) natural ecofeminism, including Lare’s struggle since childhood, women’s persistence, caring for the environment and the ability to produce coffee; (2) spiritual ecofeminism, including natural works and women’s works alike, and describing how she cares for the island; and (3) socialist ecofeminism, including respecting fellow human beings, maintaining skills, discrimination, and rejecting the logic of discrimination or male domination.
