Abstract

Higher education institutions in Indonesia are currently facing significant challenges in maintaining public trust, requiring them to uphold autonomy, transparency, accountability, and continuously meet standards for quality assurance and improvement. This research aims to identify and address the unmet quality aspects in education to elevate the accreditation of private universities from C/Good to B/Very Good or even A/Excellent. By integrating the EduQual model with certification requirements from the Board of National Accreditation for Higher Education (Badan Akreditasi Nasional Perguruan Tinggi, BAN-PT), the research is supported by comprehensive studies of university accreditation reports, questionnaires, focus group discussions (FGD), and expert judgment through interviews and consultations. The data analysis employs gap analysis, importance-performance analysis, and quality function deployment. The study identified twenty-one priority improvement points to enhance accreditation, with six key improvements prioritized from the ninety indicators examined based on customer needs analysis.  In the accreditation of private universities, the unmet aspects of education quality lie in the dimension of physical facilities, particularly human resources, as well as in the dimension of personal development, especially in the criteria for research and community service. The study recommends prioritizing investments in human resource development and strengthening research and community service initiatives, as these are critical areas where private universities fall short in meeting accreditation standards and fulfilling educational quality expectations.

Abstract

This research studies the analysis of occupational safety and health on the PLTU unit 9-10 Java Suralaya construction project using the FMEA method at PT. W. In companies there are still risks that cause work accidents to occur frequently based on company data. The aim of this research is to identify and provide recommendations for the risk of work accidents for workers in the company. The methodology used in this research is FMEA. The results of this research are that there are 5 types of work accidents, namely material scratches, material impacts, slips, electric shocks and falls from heights, with the highest RPN being material scratches (24.28); and the lowest RPN value is Falling from a Height (18.24). There is 1 critical category (scratched by material) and 4 non-crisis categories (struck by material, slipped, electrocuted, fell from a height). Abstract

Problems that often occur in the work environment include worker attitudes, work environment conditions such as slippery floors and work areas at high places, and the potential for damage to machine components. The potential for work accidents at PT. NSBL was carried out using the HAZOP method. This method identifies various sources of danger. The risk evaluation revealed that high and medium risks dominate, while the K3 program is not optimal. Based on research that has been conducted, there are 5 categories of hazard sources including worker negligence in working, the presence of high voltage electric currents, storage and use of toxic chemicals, and flammable and corrosive materials. Recommendations include increasing K3 training, implementing strict procedures for the use of PPE, improving the work environment, and regular maintenance of equipment. These efforts are expected to reduce the risk of work accidents and increase safety at PT. NSBL. Keywords: HAZOP, Occupational Safety and Health, Potential Hazards

Abstract

The community service activity at SDN 1 Bumi Waras, located in a densely populated village and a center for kemplang cracker production near the coast, aimed to address the low level of public environmental awareness regarding cleanliness. Utilizing the Participatory Action Research (PAR) method, which involved a collaborative effort between lecturers and students from the Industrial Engineering program at Universitas Tulang Bawang and PT. BMI Lampung, the program focused on empowering elementary school students to foster an environmentally conscious and waste-caring culture from an early age. The results of the socialization and simulation demonstrated a significant increase in students' understanding of waste sorting, from 10% to 95%, affirming the activity's success in instilling environmental awareness for sustainability.

Abstract

This research was prompted by the issues of musculoskeletal health problems and a decline in production quality among embroidery artisans at UMKM A, both of which were caused by un-ergonomic workstations. The study aimed to design a functional and ergonomic workbench by first identifying the artisans' needs and then translating them into technical product specifications. The research used the Quality Function Deployment (QFD) method, which combines qualitative and quantitative approaches. The findings revealed a negative gap between the artisans' perceptions and their expectations, with scores ranging from -3.067 to -2.467 across 30 indicators. This negative gap highlights a clear need for improvement. Based on the QFD analysis, which was processed into the House of Quality (HOQ) matrix, seven key areas for improvement were identified. These included: a height-adjustable workbench design with a total score of 45 (41.85%), empty space under the table for leg movement with a score of 18 (16.74%), a design that aligns with the artisans' preferences with a score of 18 (16.74%), flexible adjustments for the table's position with a score of 6 (5.58%), and dedicated slots or racks for storing embroidery tools with a score of 6 (5.58%). In conclusion, the QFD method proved effective in designing a workbench that meets the artisans' needs, with the ultimate goal of increasing productivity and reducing the risk of injury.
