Abstract

UD. KI is an industry that produces Buis Benton type precast concrete. The materials that make up concrete blocks are cement, water, and coarse and fine aggregates. The supply of coarse aggregate is obtained from Gunung Sugih river sand, where availability is greatly influenced by flood conditions during the rainy season where there is a slight shortage which causes an increase in order prices. If the company wants to take steps to secure stock of sand raw materials to anticipate increases in order costs and ensure production continuity, this will disrupt the balance of production capital costs and the availability of storage space. Therefore, it is necessary to measure raw material inventories so that companies can take safety measures to anticipate increases in order costs and ensure production continuity. Analysis of the supply of coarse aggregate raw materials in concrete buis production at UD. KI uses the Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) method. By implementing the EOQ method, ordering value can be saved by 214.04 tonnes in 2021 and 173.28 tonnes in 2022, and there has been a significant reduction in the order frequency level from 12 times to 2 times per year, with a safety stock of 61.74 tons. Abstract

The development of an innovative corn fertilizer tool as an improvement on an existing concept that has been widely socialized in the farming community aims to design a fertilizer spreader tool that suits farmers' needs, with a simple technological concept, a working principle that is easy to operate and a product form that is easy to carry, and can be commercialized and is a development of previous concepts as the aim of the research carried out. Using the French method because it is considered easier to meet data needs. The design results obtained are an improvement on the research concept of previous researchers which improved the capacity where the old fertilizer tool was only able to accommodate approximately 2 Kg of fertilizer, with the new design it can accommodate 15 Kg of fertilizer, the tip of the lever is designed to be pointed so that the fertilizer enters the surface more easily. soil, while tool rods made from stainless steel can provide strength to the tool, they do not rust easily if they come into contact with water or fertilizer (chemicals) so they last a long time. Abstract

Organic waste is still a problem that needs to be resolved. Piles of organic waste can cause the emergence of methane gas (CH4), giving rise to an unpleasant odor and can even potentially cause disease. The aim of this community service is to provide understanding, knowledge and skills to the community regarding how to utilize household organic waste in the form of fruit and vegetable waste into eco-enzymes by fermentation. eco-enzyme is a multi-purpose liquid that can be used to purify waste water, as a household cleaning product, as a detergent, as a pest control product, to remove pesticide residues, and also as an organic fertilizer for plants. The method used is Participatory Action Research (PAR) where the service team is integrated into the community and works with the community to increase the knowledge and abilities of the people who are members of the Women Farming Group (KWT) in understanding and changing the community to become better, more empowered and knowledgeable. The results of this activity were able to increase the understanding, knowledge and skills of Women Farmer Groups in 4 Districts of Bandar Lampung city both conceptually and practically, and have the awareness not to just throw away organic waste, but to use it because it not only protects the environment but also provides benefits to the community. This activity was considered successful and sustainable for future programs.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memperkenalkan K3 dalam bentuk edukasi agar dapat membantu siswa mengidentifikasi bahaya di lingkungan sekolah, mengembangkan kebiasaan yang baik tentang keselamatan dan kesehatan, membantu anak-anak memahami pentingnya menjaga keselamatan dan kesehatan diri sendiri dan orang lain, membantu untuk meningkatkan kualitas hidup siswa dengan mengurangi risiko kecelakaan dan cedera, serta meningkatkan kesehatan, dan juga meningkatkan kesejahteraan. Metode pendekatan yang digunakan dalam kegiatan pengabdian meliputi sosialisasi, diskusi dan tanya-jawab, dilanjutkan dengan pemasangan display. Dari hasil evaluasi melalui pre-test dan post-test terdapat peningkatan pengetahuan dan pemahaman siswa sebesar 92% setelah kegiatan, juga terdapat display tentang K3 di lokasi sekolah sebagai pengingat dan pemberi petunjuk. Kegiatan berlangsung lancar dan sesuai dengan target dan tujuan.

Abstract

The Belt Scale is a critical instrument in industries for measuring the flow rate of materials on conveyors. The accuracy of these measurements is crucial as it directly impacts production efficiency, costs, and product quality. This research aims to conduct an in-depth analysis of Belt Scale accuracy under various operational conditions. The methodology employed involves collecting field data, conducting literature reviews, and utilizing computer simulations. The acquired data is then compared against reference data to identify error rates and influencing factors. The anticipated outcome of this study is a deeper understanding of Belt Scale performance, enabling companies to optimize their measurement systems. Furthermore, this research paves the way for the development of more advanced material measurement technologies. The primary objective of this study is to enhance the reliability of Belt Scale measurement systems, thereby providing more accurate data and facilitating better decision-making in production processes. Abstract

The ergonomic assessment of the working posture of traditional embroidery artisans in Lampung is necessary to uncover their working conditions and their impact on health, with the main complaint being significant musculoskeletal disorders. This study aims to identify the ergonomic risk levels of the artisans and provide recommendations for corrective measures. The research utilized the Nordic Body Map questionnaire to identify the body areas with the highest complaints, while ergonomic analysis was conducted using the Rapid Upper Limb Assessment (RULA) and Rapid Entire Body Assessment (REBA) methods. The findings revealed that the back (100%), buttocks (80%), lower neck (80%), right shoulder (80%), waist (70%), and upper neck (70%) were the areas with the highest complaints. The RULA score was 6 for embroidery and pattern-making activities, indicating that corrective actions are needed in the near future. The REBA scores were 5 for embroidery and 6 for pattern-making, emphasizing the urgency for improvement. Immediate corrective actions, such as the provision or replacement of ergonomic embroidery frames or tables, are required to reduce injury risks and enhance the occupational health of the artisans. Abstract

SDN 1 Bumi Waras merupakan sekolah yang memiliki kerentanan bencana yang tinggi sehingga perlu dilakukan pelatihan pertolongan pertama, evakuasi, dan penanganan darurat secara berkala dalam membangun sekolah yang aman bencana. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini adalah membentuk kesiapsiagaan terhadap tingginya risiko bencana sehingga dapat meminimalisir dampak negatif bencana terhadap kehidupan di lingkungan sekolah, baik secara individu maupun kolektif. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini yaitu Community Capacity Building atau Peningkatan Kapasitas Komunitas dalam meningkatkan kemampuan dan kapasitas masyarakat mengatasi masalah yang mereka hadapi. Dari observasi langsung pada kegiatan ini mampu meningkatkan pengetahuan, kemampuan dan kapasitas warga SDN 1 Bumi Waras dalam pertolongan pertama, evakuasi, dan penanganan kedaruratan, cara penggunaan peralatan P3K yang umum, membentuk karakter siswa yang tangguh, mandiri, dan peduli. Dengan mengikuti pelatihan pertolongan pertama, siswa dan warga sekolah dapat menjadi agen perubahan dalam masyarakat dan berkontribusi dalam meningkatkan keselamatan di lingkungan sekitar.

Abstract

High noise levels, as well as insufficient or excessive lighting and extreme room temperatures, can have an impact on employee Occupational Health and Safety (OHS). In testing service companies, employee complaints regarding physical work environment conditions—such as noise from laboratory equipment, overly bright lighting, and excessively cold room temperatures—indicate potential risks to occupational health and safety. This study aims to analyze the influence of physical environmental factors in the workplace. A descriptive analysis method was used to interpret primary and secondary data, which were then compared with Threshold Limit Values (TLVs), and followed by improvement recommendations using fishbone analysis. Measurement data showed the highest noise level in the analyst room at 83.1 dBA, close to the TLV of 85 dBA. The highest lighting levels were found in the BITU division head’s room and at Hilman’s desk, at 556 LUX and 576 LUX respectively. The lowest lighting level was recorded at Denrio’s desk with 301 LUX, compared to the lower TLVs of 150 LUX and 500 LUX. Room temperature measurements across all sampled locations showed a maximum of 27.3°C and a minimum of 21.2°C. Recommendations from this study include the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for impact mitigation, employee training or education, and facility improvements to reduce the negative effects on occupational health and safety. Abstract

PT. BSS is a company engaged in the processing of spices using a make-to-order production system. The main problem faced by the company is the unstructured flow of material movement between the Non-Hygiene, Low Hygiene, High Hygiene, and Disposal zones, which results in inefficiencies in both time and space utilization. Through the ARC approach, supported by the From-To Chart, Activity Relationship Diagram (ARD), Activity Template Block Diagram (ATBD), and Area Allocation Diagram (AAD), an analysis of the inter-activity relationships and a redesign of the production layout were carried out. The results of the study show that the new layout successfully reduced the material handling distance from 600 meters to 430 meters, representing a decrease of 28.3%. In addition, the storage capacity in the Non-Hygiene zone increased from 40 to 63 pallets (an increase of 57.5%) without requiring any building expansion. The new layout also accelerated the average material transfer time by 10–15 minutes per shift and reduced the potential for cross-contamination by up to 70% through stricter separation of zones in accordance with hygiene standards. Abstract

The main challenge for SMEs in the agro-industry sector is the low efficiency and product quality inconsistency resulting from conventional, weather-dependent drying methods. This study aims to design and verify an optimized multifunctional hybrid dryer oven model to support quality standardization and productivity in micro and small-scale settings.The quantitative approach utilizes the benchmarking method, focusing on developing a design that is more efficient and user-friendly (ergonomic) compared to existing models. The research successfully developed a hybrid cabinet oven with a practical capacity of 15–25 kg. Technically, the oven demonstrates superior performance: It uses a low-power energy combination of LPG and electricity (250 Watts), providing a cost-effective solution for energy efficiency;  the construction utilizes stainless steel material, ensuring durability, corrosion resistance, and compliance with hygiene standards (GMP); and functional verification confirmed the achievement of temperature stability and precision (ranging from 50°C to 100°C) via a thermal control system. This enables measurable drying processes within 120–180 minutes, significantly minimizing moisture variation. With an estimated production cost of Rp4,790,000, the oven is proven to be economically viable and highly potential for widespread adoption.
