Abstract

Improving the ability of speaking in Arabic Language Education Study Program is an important aspect in the Arabic language teaching process. Speaking skills are one of the main competencies that students must have, both in academic and social contexts. However, learning to speak in Arabic often faces various challenges, such as fear of public speaking, lack of motivation, and limited opportunities to practice. The purpose of this study is to explore the improvement of Arabic speaking skills from the perspective of students by analyzing various methods applied in learning to speak. The research method used is a qualitative method. The data collection techniques in this study used interview and literature study techniques. Interviews were conducted with informants who were students of the Arabic Language Education Study Program. The literature study technique was used with the aim of reviewing and analyzing various literature related to improving the ability of speaking in Arabic Language Education Study Program. The results of the study indicate that the development of more varied learning methods and providing space for students to practice speaking intensively are very important in supporting the improvement of their speaking skills. For that reason, it is important for the study program management to continue to innovate in creating methods and environments that can encourage students to be more active and confident in speaking Arabic.

Abstract

This article discusses two discussion materials in the science of badi' muhassinat ma'nawiyah study. The first discussion is about analyzing the meaning of madzhab kalami in one of the verses of the Qur'an, namely in surah Al-Anbiya' verse 22, surah Al-Hajj verse 5 and surah Ar-Ruum verse 27. While the second discussion is about husnul ta’lil in three other surahs, namely surah Al-Baqarah verse 74 and 261 and surah An-Nahl verse 14. The research method used in this study is a qualitative research method with literature review (library research) as the data collection technique. The results of this study are, the discovery of the purpose and purpose of the meaning of madzhab kalami in surah Al-Anbiya' verse 22, surah Al-Hajj verse 5 and surah Ar-Ruum verse 27, as well as the meaning of husnul ta’lil in surah Al-Baqarah verse 74 and 261 and surah An-Nahl verse 14.

Abstract

Vocabulary mastery (mufradat) is the main key in improving the Arabic language skills of students in Islamic boarding schools. However, many students face obstacles in memorizing and using mufradat consistently in daily activities. This study aims to apply the targhib method (praise, rewards, and simple gifts) and tarhib (light, educational punishment) in motivating female students at the Ulumul Qur'an Islamic Boarding School in Medan to become more skilled at mastering and using Arabic mufradat. The study used a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through interviews, observation, documentation, and vocabulary mastery tests to assess the extent to which students are able to memorize and apply mufradat. The results showed that the balanced application of the targhib and tarhib methods can significantly improve mufradat mastery. Students are more active in memorizing, confident in using mufradat in activities such as giving speeches, reading books, and daily communication. Supporting factors for success include teacher competence, the religious environment of the Islamic boarding school, and students' internal motivation; while obstacles arise from limited study time and the inconsistency of the Islamic boarding school supervisor in the use of Arabic. This study confirms that the consistent implementation of targhib and tarhib is an effective strategy for improving Arabic vocabulary mastery and fostering learning motivation in Islamic boarding schools.
