Abstract

Writing skills (maharah al-kitabah) are the highest of the four language skills. Writing is an activity that is related to the thinking process and expression skills in written form. Maharah Kitabah or also known as applied writing has a very important role in human life. Even in educational institutions, learning a foreign language is the main aim of writing skills. In general, writing skills have unique characteristics compared to other types of skills that have an impact on teaching methods. Therefore, every educator needs to look for effective writing teaching methods to improve student achievement. The most effective is the Total Physical Response method or known as Perfect Physical Response (TPR). In the 1960s, American psychologist James Asher developed the TPR method. This research uses a qualitative method, descriptive research type. In other words, this method provides comprehension practice through the use of physical drawing techniques during foreign language teaching at the initial level. This method has the following principles: First, teaching must reduce productive skills in language learning (spoken and written). Second, delay teaching speaking before the child's understanding has developed. Third, language skills acquired through hearing transfer to other skills (speaking, reading and writing). Fourth, teaching must emphasize the meaning of form.

Abstract

Kompetensi guru terhadap keberhasilan proses pembelajaran di siswa SMK Nurul Iman Jakarta sangat berpengaruh adalah tujuan penelitian ini. Dikatakan berpengaruh karena hasil yang di dapat kuat atau tinggi yaitu 0,70 – 0.90. Penelitian ini menggunakan korelasi kuantitatif. Teknik metodologi penelitian menggunakan simple random sampling, menggunakan teknik probability sampling, dari 254 siswa menjadi 106 siswa dari SMK Nurul Iman Jakarta. sedangkan untuk analisis menggunakan metode korelasi product moment. Uji koefisien product moment menghasilkan 'rxy' atau 'ro' sebesar 85,4% , dengan 'rt' sebesar 16.772 atau positif dengan taraf signifikasi kurang dari 0,05 (0,000 < 0,05). Maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa hipotesis dalam penelitian ini Hipotesis Nol (Ho) menolak dan Hipotesis Alternatif (Ha) menerima.

Abstract

Economic growth and increasing population density in adulthood require awareness regarding environmental concern. Caring for the environment is an important thing that must be done to prevent natural damage and maintain ecosystem balance. Nganjuk Regency, with a population density of around 1,103,902 people in 2020, of course produces quite a lot of household waste. There is a need to increase awareness and change attitudes regarding waste sorting and processing to create a clean and healthy environment, which is the aim of holding waste bin procurement activities. Seeing that Setren Village SDGs number 12, namely Environmentally Conscious Village Consumption and Production, still has not met the target score that must be achieved, knowledge regarding waste sorting needs to be emphasized more. The method used was direct observation in the Setren Village environment, then a Focus Group Discussion was held regarding handling waste problems to create a healthy environment. The results of the community service carried out are the provision of waste sorting bins and socialization of waste sorting. Apart from that, there has been an increase in knowledge regarding types of waste for the people of Setren Village.

Abstract

Improving the ability of speaking in Arabic Language Education Study Program is an important aspect in the Arabic language teaching process. Speaking skills are one of the main competencies that students must have, both in academic and social contexts. However, learning to speak in Arabic often faces various challenges, such as fear of public speaking, lack of motivation, and limited opportunities to practice. The purpose of this study is to explore the improvement of Arabic speaking skills from the perspective of students by analyzing various methods applied in learning to speak. The research method used is a qualitative method. The data collection techniques in this study used interview and literature study techniques. Interviews were conducted with informants who were students of the Arabic Language Education Study Program. The literature study technique was used with the aim of reviewing and analyzing various literature related to improving the ability of speaking in Arabic Language Education Study Program. The results of the study indicate that the development of more varied learning methods and providing space for students to practice speaking intensively are very important in supporting the improvement of their speaking skills. For that reason, it is important for the study program management to continue to innovate in creating methods and environments that can encourage students to be more active and confident in speaking Arabic.

Abstract

This article aims to analyze the use of muqabalah as a language style in Surah Al-Mulk and its impact on conveying moral and spiritual messages in the Al-Qur'an. Using a qualitative approach, this research analyzes verses containing muqabalah and discusses various contrasts that arise, such as life and death, courage and fear, and luck and loss. The methodology used includes literature study, tafsir, and rhetorical analysis to explore how muqabalah enriches the meaning of the text and increases reader understanding. The results of this research show that there is Muqabalah Khilafi in verse 3, Muqabalah Naziri in verse 15, and Muqabalah Naqidhi in verses 20, 21, and 22. These findings confirm that the use of muqabalah in Surah Al-Mulk not only clarifies the meaning, but also has a psychological impact profound for readers. The contrasts displayed serve to increase moral awareness and spiritual responsibility, as well as provide relevance to these messages in modern life. The uniqueness of this research lies in its emphasis on how muqabalah can be applied in learning the Koran in the contemporary era, as well as providing suggestions for increasing spiritual awareness through creative and relevant approaches. Thus, it is hoped that this research can contribute to a better understanding and application of the teachings of the Qur'an among Muslims.

Abstract

Reading skill (mahārah qirā’ah) is one of the essential competencies in Arabic language learning, particularly in Madrasah Aliyah. However, many students still face difficulties in understanding Arabic texts due to limited vocabulary, weak mastery of grammar, and insufficient understanding of ṣarf rules. This study aims to analysis the implementation of mahārah qirā’ah learning through the qawāʿid tarjamah method combined with memorization of ṣarf rules among eleventh-grade students at MAS Miftahussalam Medan, as well as to examine students’ responses and motivation toward its application. This research employed a qualitative descriptive method with Arabic language teachers and eleventh-grade students as research subjects. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed using data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. Data validation was carried out through triangulation, prolonged engagement, and member checking. The findings are expected to provide theoretical contributions to the development of Arabic teaching strategies, particularly in enhancing mahārah qirā’ah. Practically, this study offers benefits for teachers in selecting effective teaching methods, for students in improving their comprehension of Arabic texts, and for schools in designing more contextual learning strategies. Keywords: Arabic Learning, Mahārah Qirā’ah, Qawāʿid Tarjamah, Ṣarf Rules. ملخص إن مهارة القراءة تعد كفاءة أساسية في تعلم اللغة العربية، وخاصة في المرحلة الثانوية (المدرسة العليا الإسلامية). ومع ذلك، لا يزال كثير من الطلاب يواجهون صعوبات في فهم النصوص العربية بسبب محدودية المفردات وضعف إتقان القواعد النحوية وقلة الفهم لقواعد الصرف. وتهدف هذه الدراسة إلى تحليل تنفيذ تعليم مهارة القراءة من خلال طريقة القواعد والترجمة المقرونة بحفظ قواعد الصرف لدى طلاب الصف الحادي عشر في مدرسة مفتاح السلام الإسلامية بمدينة ميدان، وكذلك لمعرفة استجابة الطلاب ودافعيتهم تجاه تطبيقها. والمنهج المستخدم في هذه الدراسة هو المنهج الوصفي النوعي مع معلمي اللغة العربية وطلاب الصف الحادي عشر بوصفهم عينة البحث. وقد جُمعت البيانات من خلال الملاحظة والمقابلة والوثائق، ثم حُلّلت باستخدام نموذج تقليل البيانات وعرضها واستخلاص النتائج. وتم التحقق من صحة البيانات بالتثليث وزيادة المثابرة وعرض النتائج على المشاركين. ومن المتوقع أن تسهم نتائج هذه الدراسة في إثراء الجانب النظري لتطوير استراتيجيات تعليم اللغة العربية، وخاصة في مجال إتقان مهارة القراءة. أما من الناحية العملية، فإن هذه الدراسة تقدم فائدة للمعلمين في اختيار طريقة تدريس فعّالة، وللطلاب في تحسين فهم النصوص العربية، وللمدرسة في وضع استراتيجية تعليمية أكثر ارتباطا بسياق التعلم. الكلمات المفتاحية: تعليم اللغة العربية، مهارة القراءة، القواعد والترجمة، قواعد الصرف.

Abstract

The development of critical thinking skills is essential for preparing future generations to effectively navigate the challenges posed by rapid technological and scientific advancements. This study examines the effectiveness of STEM-based learning (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) in enhancing critical thinking skills among elementary school students in Indonesia. Using a quasi-experimental method with a pre-test and post-test control group design, this research involved 120 students from three elementary schools in East Java. The experimental group was taught using an integrated STEM approach, while the control group continued with a traditional curriculum. The primary objective was to assess how STEM-based learning impacts students' critical thinking, particularly in areas such as problem-solving, reasoning, and analysis. The results revealed a significant improvement in the critical thinking abilities of students in the STEM group compared to the control group. Students in the experimental group demonstrated enhanced skills in problem-solving and reasoning, with notable improvements in their ability to analyze and evaluate information. Additionally, the STEM group exhibited higher levels of engagement, curiosity, and motivation in their learning, along with a greater ability to apply interdisciplinary knowledge to real-life contexts. These findings suggest that STEM-based learning can play a crucial role in developing critical thinking and other essential skills required in the 21st century. This research underscores the potential benefits of incorporating STEM education into elementary school curricula to foster critical thinking and prepare students for future challenges. The study recommends that policymakers and educators focus on providing the necessary training, resources, and support to effectively implement STEM-based learning in primary education. By doing so, we can ensure that students develop the skills needed to succeed in a rapidly evolving world.

Abstract

Penelitian ini membedah Matahari 1/2 Mati melalui pendekatan resepsi sastra, yaitu teori yang menempatkan pembaca sebagai elemen penting dalam membentuk makna teks. Naskah drama Matahari ½ Mati karya A. Rego Subagyo menceritakan kehidupan sebuah keluarga petani miskin di desa terpencil yang mengalami kesulitan ekonomi dan sosial, ditambah ketiadaan sosok ayah. Penelitian ini menganalisis naskah tersebut menggunakan pendekatan resepsi sastra, yang menekankan peran pembaca dalam memahami makna teks. Analisis dilaksanakan oleh amahasiswa yang memiliki latar belakang pendidikan sastra, memberikan sudut pandang yang berinformasi dan reflektif. Pembaca diharapkan melakukan perenungan kritis terhadap konteks, simbol, dan struktur dramatik yang ada. Pendekatan ini diyakini mampu mengungkap makna yang beragam dalam naskah, serta memperkaya pemahaman tentang isu sosial dan budaya. Jenis penelitian mencakup penelitian lapangan dengan metode deskriptif dan pendekatan kualitatif, menggunakan kuisioner untuk mengumpulkan data. Keluarga dalam naskah ini menghadapi berbagai konflik. Dengan pendekatan resepsi, analisis ini menunjukkan pentingnya naskah ini sebagai bahan ajar yang memperkaya wawasan dan membangun karakter manusia. Matahari sebagai simbol dalam naskah ini menerangi kesadaran akan pendidikan yang berakar pada realitas dan nilai-nilai kemanusiaan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk mengkaji naskah drama Mencari Taman karya Noorca Marendra Massardi menggunakan pendekatan sosiologi sastra. Drama ini menceritakan kehidupan anak-anak di kota besar yang hidup dalam tekanan lingkungan yang tidak sehat, keterbatasan ruang bermain, serta pengasuhan yang kaku dan otoriter dari orang tua. Melalui tokoh Kasih yang menjadi tokoh utama, penulis naskah menghadirkan narasi tentang anak-anak yang tidak hanya mengalami keterbatasan fisik dan sosial, tetapi juga berusaha melarikan diri dan melawan kondisi tersebut melalui kekuatan imajinasi. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode deskriptif kualitatif melalui analisis isi terhadap naskah drama. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Mencari Taman mengandung kritik sosial yang tajam terhadap kehidupan urban yang tidak ramah terhadap anak-anak. Kritik sosial tersebut ditampilkan melalui penggambaran suasana kota yang penuh polusi, ketimpangan sosial antara anak-anak kaya dan miskin, serta dominasi kekuasaan orang tua dalam menentukan kehidupan anak. Imajinasi menjadi simbol dari harapan dan perlawanan terhadap realita yang menindas. Dengan demikian, drama ini bukan hanya sebagai hiburan, melainkan juga sebagai alat reflektif dan edukatif yang menyuarakan keresahan sosial dari perspektif anak-anak. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa sastra anak memiliki potensi sebagai ruang kritik sosial yang efektif dan relevan untuk dianalisis lebih lanjut dalam kajian sastra kontemporer, khususnya melalui pendekatan sosiologi sastra
