Abstract

This study aims to describe and analyze the Merdeka Learning Curriculum to understand the supporting and inhibiting factors in the implementation of the Merdeka Learning Curriculum to improve the quality of education at SD Negeri 115 Palembang. This research uses a qualitative method with a field research approach through data and data sources. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and documentation. The research findings indicate that the implementation of the Independent Learning Curriculum management in improving the quality of education at SD Negeri 115 Palembang can be summarized through several stages: planning, organizing, actuating, and evaluating. There are two factors that influence the improvement of educational quality, namely supporting factors, which include school leadership, coordination, cooperation, and teachers' skills in managing the classroom. The inhibiting factors include facilities and infrastructure, education funding, and the still limited quality of teachers or educators. In improving the quality of education at SD Negeri 115 Palembang, it can be concluded that the implementation of management has not yet reached an optimal level. However, its success is notable, even though it is not yet widespread due to several inhibiting factors. To anticipate the inhibiting factors, it is necessary to improve facilities and infrastructure, which require support from the school principal and guidance from relevant parties, such as socialization and training from the Education Department or external trainers, so that the skills of teachers and educational staff become more professional and developed.

Abstract

Principal management plays a crucial role in the development of teachers, significantly influencing their professional competence and performance in carrying out educational responsibilities. This study aims to describe and analyze (1) principal management strategies in teacher development, (2) obstacles encountered during the implementation of these strategies, and (3) solutions to overcome the identified obstacles. The research was conducted at SMA Muhammadiyah 8 Palembang using a qualitative descriptive method. Data collection techniques included interviews with school leaders and teachers, direct observations of school activities, and document analysis related to teacher development programs. Data were analyzed using an interactive model consisting of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings show that principal management in teacher development involves structured planning, implementation of professional training, performance evaluation, mentoring programs, and the establishment of collaborative work teams aligned with the school's vision and mission. However, several obstacles were identified in the implementation process, such as limited human and financial resources, differences in teacher readiness and motivation, resistance to new policies or changes, and difficulties in maintaining consistent monitoring and supervision. To address these challenges, school leaders have adopted various strategies, including intensifying teacher training and mentoring, promoting teamwork among staff, utilizing digital technology to support learning and supervision, and building partnerships with external education stakeholders. Additionally, regular evaluations and feedback mechanisms are conducted to ensure that teacher development programs remain responsive to current needs. This research emphasizes the importance of effective leadership and adaptive strategies in fostering continuous professional growth for teachers within the school environment.

Abstract

This research examines the influence of transactional leadership and the entrepreneurial competence of school principals on the effectiveness of education financing in primary and secondary education settings. Effective education financing is essential to ensure that limited resources are allocated optimally to improve learning quality, infrastructure, and institutional sustainability. Transactional leadership—marked by clear performance standards, reward and punishment mechanisms, and strict supervision—provides a structured framework for financial accountability and goal achievement. Entrepreneurial competence, on the other hand, equips principals with the ability to recognize funding opportunities, innovate in revenue generation, and manage financial risks. The study adopts a quantitative survey design involving school principals and financial management personnel from a representative sample of public and private schools. Data were collected using validated questionnaires and analyzed through multiple regression to measure the direct and combined effects of the two independent variables on education financing effectiveness. The findings reveal that both transactional leadership and entrepreneurial competence significantly and positively affect financial effectiveness. Transactional leadership strengthens transparency and budget discipline, while entrepreneurial competence fosters diversification of funding sources and innovative financial strategies. These results highlight the strategic importance of integrating leadership development with entrepreneurial training for school principals. Strengthening these competencies not only enhances financial planning and accountability but also reduces dependence on a single funding source, supporting long-term educational sustainability. Future studies are encouraged to explore additional mediating factors such as organizational culture, technological infrastructure, and community involvement to provide a more comprehensive understanding of education financing dynamics.
