Abstract

Introduction: Cardiovascular disease is the number one cause of death globally, abnormal levels of LDL are often linked to risk factors for cardiovascular disease. Tomato juice (Lycopersacum esculentum M.) and red guava (Psidium guajava L.) contain lycopene which is high enough antioxidant to prevent oxidation of LDL. Methods: This type of research is an experimental study using pretest-posttest with control group design. As many 24 male white rats (Rattus norvegicus L.) induced with egg yolk 6.25gr/kgBB, grouped into 4, negative controls have given with only aquadest, positive controls only given egg yolks, one treated with tomato juice 30 ml/kg body weight and two treatments given 30 ml/kg of fresh guava juice for 2 weeks which then performed blood sampling for 3 times, pretest, intervention, and posttest. Results: The mean LDL levels of negative control group posttest, positive control, one treatment and two treatments were respectively 68,66 mg / dl, 145,50 mg / dl, 71,41 mg / dl, 36,08 mg / dl. ANOVA test results showed that there was a significant difference between treatment group one and treatment group two with p = 0,016 (p <0,05). Conclusion: The administration of tomato juice and red guava juice can lowering LDL levels of mice. Red guava juice is more effective at lowering LDL concentration of mice with p = 0,001 (p <0,05) compared with tomato juice with p-value = 0,024 (p <0,05). Abstract

PendahuluanPenghambat Adrenergik merupakan sekelompok senyawa yang bekerja menghambat saraf adrenergik. Golongan obat ini dibagi menjadi antagonis adrenergik reseptor (adrenoseptor)  dan penghambat saraf adrenergik.Antagonis adrenoseptor sering juga dikenal dengan nama adrenoseptor bloker, mekanisme kerjanya adalah berkompetisi dengan neurotransmiter adrenergik menduduki reseptornya sehingga terjadi hambatan impul saraf yang diperantarai oleh neurotransminter adrenergik sehingga organ efektor yang dipersarafinya efeknya menjadi berkurang, kita ketahui bahwa reseptor adrenergik terdiri dari reseptor α1, α2, β1, β2 ,β3.

Abstract

Pengaruh Pemberian Jus Nanas (Ananas comosus l.merr) terhadap Penurunan Kadar Trigliserida pada Tikus Putih Jantan (Rattus novergicus l.) yang Diinduksi Monosodium GlutamateAbstrak: Penyakit jantung koroner (PJK) paling sering disebabkan karena sumbatan plak ateroma pada arteri koroner yaitu aterosklerosis yang terdapat penimbunan lemak dan zat-zat lain yang membentuk plak pada dinding arteri. Nanas (Ananas comosus L.Merr) memiliki serat (Dietary fiber) yang berasal dari dinding sel buah-buahan yang mengandung zat kimia polimer lignin, gumi dan mucilage yang mampu menurunkan kadar trigliserida darah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian jus nanas terhadap kadar trigliserida darah tikus yang diinduksi MSG. Metode: Jenis penelitian adalah true experiment dengan pretest-posttest with control group design. Subjek penelitian adalah 24 tikus putih jantan (Rattus novergicus L.), dibagi menjadi 4 kelompok. Pemberian jus nanas dosis 1,5ml dan 2,5ml. Hasil: Ada penurunan kadar trigliserida setelah pemberian jus nanas pada kelompok-3 sebesar 44,16 mg/dl; kelompok-4 sebesar 51 mg/dl. Hasil uji T berpasangan adanya perbedaan rerata kadar trigliserida (p < 0,05) pada kedua kelompok. Kesimpulan: Pemberian jus nanas pada dosis 1,5ml dan 2,5 ml dapat menurunkan kadar trigliserida darah pada tikus jantan putih.Kata kunci: aterosklerosis, jus nanas (Ananas comosus L.Merr), trigliserida, tikus putih jantan (Rattus novergicus L.)    The Effectiveness of Pineapple Juice to Triglycerides in Rats with induced by Monosodium Glutamate Abstract: Coronary heart disease (CHD) is most often caused by a blockage in a coronary artery atheroma plaque namely atherosclerosis, which are the accumulation of fat and other substances that form plaque in the artery wall. Pineapple (Ananas comosus L.Merr) has dietary fiber derived from the cell walls of fruits that contain chemicals lignin polymer, gumi and mucilage that can reduce blood triglyceride levels. This study aimed to determine the effect of pineapple juice on blood triglyceride levels of rats induced MSG. Methods: The study is true experiment with pretest-posttest control group design. The subjects were 24 male white rats (Rattus novergicus L.), divided into 4 groups. Giving pineapple juice dose 1,5ml and 2,5ml. Results: There was a decrease in triglyceride levels after administration of pineapple juice on a group-3 is 44.16 mg / dl; Group-4 is 51 mg / dl. Paired T test result of differences in mean triglyceride levels (p <0.05) in both groups. Conclusion: Delivery of pineapple juice at a dose of 2.5 ml 1,5ml and can lower blood triglyceride levels in male white rats. Abstract

Abstrak : Penyalahgunaan narkotika merupakan masalah serius di Indonesia, data Badan Narkotika Nasional 2014 menunjukan bahwa 4,1 juta orang di Indonesia mengalami penyalahgunaan narkotika. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui  gambaran penyalahgunaan narkotika jenis tetrahidrocannabinol (THC) dan metamphetamine (Met) pada usia prakuliah di kota Medan dan Sekitarnya. Penelitian observasi crosssectional ini dilakukan di Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara saat penerimaan calon mahasiswa baru pada bulan Agustus hingga Oktober 2016. Skrining dilakukan dengan test urin menggunakan stik narkoba untuk THC dan Met. Dari 4880 sampel yang diambil urin didapatkan 12 sampel urin positif mengandung THC, 33 sampel urin positif mengandung Met, dan 3 sampel urin positif mengandung THC dan Met. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat penyalahgunaan narkotika jenis THC dan Met pada usia pra kuliah di kota Medan dan sekitarnya pada tahun 2016 dan penggunan Met lebih banyak dibandingkan dengan pengguna THC.Kata kunci: metamphetamine(Met),tetrahidrocannabinol (THC), Usia Pra Kuliah narkotikaAbstract: Drug abuse is a serious problem in Indonesia, the National NarcoticsAgency's data in 2014 showedthat 4.1 millionpeople in Indonesia experienceddrugabuse. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis khasiat jus buah pepaya (Carica papaya L.) terhadap efek penurunan kadar kolesterol total dan kadar malondialdehyde (MDA) dalam plasma darah tikus putih (Rattus norvegicus) galur Wistar berjenis kelamin jantan  hiperkolesterolemia yang diinduksi kuning telur ayam petelur. Penelitian ini menggunakan pre test and post test with control group design menggunakan 35 ekor tikus yang dibagi dalam 5 kelompok, terdiri dari : K(-) (hanya diberikan pakan standar selama 8 minggu), K(+) (diberikan pakan standar 8 minggu,diinduksi kuning telur 2 minggu), P1 ( diberi pakan standar selama 4 minggu, diinduksi kuning telur 2 minggu dan diberikan jus pepaya selama 2 minggu, diperiksa kadar kolesterol total dan MDA pada minggu ke 4), P2 ( diberi pakan standar 6 minggu,diinduksi kuning telur 2 minggu dan diberikan jus pepaya selama 4 minggu, diperiksa kadar kolesterol total dan MDA pada minggu ke 6), P3 (diberi pakan standar 8 minggu, diinduksi kuning telur 2 minggu dan diberikan jus pepaya selama 6 minggu, diperiksa kadar kolesterol total dan MDA pada minggu ke 8). Semua kelompok dilakukan pengukuran kadar kolesterol total dan MDA sebelum dilakukan perlakuan apapun. Hasil pemeriksaan kadar kolesterol total dan MDA sebelum dan sesudah induksi kuning telur selama dua minggu menunjukan peningkatan yang bermakna (p<0,05) pada kelompok yang diinduksikan kuning telur. Selanjutnya kadar kolesterol total dan MDA setelah induksi jus buah pepaya menunjukan penurunan yang bermakna (p<0,05) pada kelompok P1, P2 dan P3. Penelitian ini membuktikan bahwa pemberian jus buah pepaya berkhasiat menurunkan kadar kolesterol total dan kadar malondialdehyde sebagai petanda stres oksidatif di dalam darah.

Abstract

Abstract: Treatment of osteoarthritis in the knee joint is carried out by sharing efforts. In addition to pharmacological therapy, it is also carried out therapy with the method of intra-articular injection of mesenchymal stem cells directly into the knee joint. This systematic study aims to find out the extent to which this method has been studied as well as the benefits of intra-articular knee joint by means of mesenchymal stem cells. This study was conducted as a systematic study by searching journal literature through the Google Scholar application with the keyword intra articular injection mesenchymal stem cells on knee osteoarthritis in the last 5 years, using a prism diagram classification system in article selection. The results of the selection found 41 articles that were included in the inclusion criteria. The results of the study found that there have been many studies of intra-articular injection therapy of mesenchymal stem cells from various sources. Research was carried out both pre-clinical and clinical, and assessment methods were carried out with various methods to see the results of the therapy given, and 90% showed the results of structural, functional, and clinical improvement of the knee joint. From the results of these studies, it is concluded that there have been many studies conducted and most have shown that this method provides benefits.

Abstract

Abstract:The use of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) to cure various diseases has become more widespread. Various clinical trials have been reported, both at level 1 and level 4. This systematic literature study aims to find out what diseases have been treated with autologous mesenchymal stem cells.This study is a systematic literature study by conducting literature searches in national and international journals in the last five years using the Google Scholar application using a systematic study method with the help of prism diagrams and classification tables to facilitate search.From the search results, 24 papers were obtained that were included in the inclusion criteria. The results of this study found that the use of MSCs as an alternative in the treatment of diseases has been very much carried out in clinical trials, where most of the results of these studies show a good level of safety, and can provide improvements histologically and physiologically, although in some diseases further research must be carried out to obtain consistent results.Keywords: Mesenchymal Stem Cells, MSCs, Autologous

Abstract

Abstract: Paracetamol is an antipyretic and analgesic drug that is often used to relieve fever and pain in children. Although considered safe, the use of paracetamol in children can cause allergic reactions. This study aims to assess the prevalence of allergies due to the use of paracetamol in children. This Literature Review identifies and analyzes articles published in the last five years, using databases such as PubMed, Scopus, and Google Scholar. The included studies were studies with cohort, cross-sectional, and case-control designs that assessed the association between paracetamol use and allergic reactions in children. Of the 23 articles that met the inclusion criteria, it was found that the prevalence of allergies due to paracetamol use in children varied between 0.1% and 6.5%. Some of the factors that play a role in increasing the risk of allergies are the history of allergies in the family and the influence of environmental factors. In addition, frequently reported types of allergies include urticaria, eczema, and anaphylactic reactions. The results of this review suggest that although the prevalence of paracetamol allergy in children is relatively low, special attention is still needed, especially in children with a history of allergies or certain medical conditions. Proper management and further understanding of the pathogenesis of paracetamol allergy in children need to be done. Allergies due to paracetamol use in children, although rare, should remain a medical concern. Further research is needed to identify clearer risk factors and to develop guidelines for the use of paracetamol in children who have allergic predispositions.

Abstract

Abstract: Diabetes mellitus type 2 (DMT2) is a chronic metabolic disease whose prevalence is increasing globally. Metformin remains a first-line therapy due to its effectiveness in lowering blood glucose and its good safety profile. This literature review analyzed 25 publications from the journal Scopus Q1 (2021–2025) that evaluated the effectiveness of metformin in monotherapy and combination therapy. The studies analyzed included randomized controlled clinical trials, meta-analyses, and cohort studies. Metformin showed an average HbA1c decrease of 1.0–1.5%. Combination with SGLT2 inhibitors and GLP-1 receptor agonists improves glycemic control and lowers cardiovascular risk. Anti-inflammatory and endothelial protective effects have also been reported. Metformin remains relevant as the primary therapy, but its effectiveness increases when combined with new agents and adapted to the characteristics of the patient. Metformin is effective in the management of current DMT2, especially in combination therapy and personalization approaches.
