Abstract

Permukiman, dalam konteks budaya, dapat berkembang menjadi permukiman tradisional yang menjadi simbol identitas dan kepercayaan masyarakat yang memiliki karakteristik dan ciri yang khas. Konsep elemen utama pembentuk permukiman yaitu alam (nature), manusia (man), masyarakat (society), lindungan (shells) dan jaringan (network). Kawasan Adat Ammatoa merupakan salah satu permukiman tradisional di Sulawesi Selatan yang terkenal dengan hukum adat yang sangat kental, terbentuk dari elemen utama permukiman. Masyarakat adat Ammatoa memiliki aturan Pasang ri Kajang yang bersifat sakral secara turun temurun, salah satu yang berkaitan dengan lingkungan berbunyi "Anjo boronga anre nakulle nipanraki. Punna nipanraki boronga, nupanraki kalennu" (hutan tidak boleh dirusak, bila engkau merusaknnya, sama halnya engkau merusak dirimu sendiri). Tujuan dari penelitian ini, adalah mengidentifikasi elemen yang membentuk permukiman dari Doxidis (1968) yang terdapat di permukiman tradisional kawasan adat Ammatoa. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif yang bersifat deskriptif, dengan metode analisis yang digunakan adalah etnografi dan analisis behavior mapping dengan tipe person centered maps. Variabel penelitian ini adalah elemen pembentuk permukiman yang terdiri dari fisik alam, manusia, masyarakat, bangunan, dan jaringan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa elemen pembentuk permukiman di Kawasan Adat Ammatoa secara fisik alam adalah hutan lindung yang juga merupakan lokasi ritual adat dengan elemen manusia dan masyarakat. Ritual ini berkontribusi pada pola bermukim dalam membentuk permukiman tradisional.

Abstract

The development of the culinary and fashion sectors in Samarinda has increased the demand for building designs that adapt to the city's hot and humid tropical climate. Modern tropical architecture is a relevant approach for designing restaurants and boutiques, emphasizing energy efficiency and thermal comfort. This study analyzes the façade elements of a restaurant and boutique in Samarinda using a qualitative descriptive method through field observations and theoretical studies. The façade design of LA Restaurant and Boutique in Samarinda incorporates modern tropical elements such as sloped roofs, canopies, wooden and vegetative secondary skins, and large glass openings to optimize natural lighting and cross ventilation. Semi-outdoor spaces with rooftop gardens and climbing vegetation enhance thermal comfort and the building’s aesthetic appeal. The findings indicate that the combination of these façade elements achieves a balance between functionality, sustainability, and visual attractiveness within the context of modern tropical architecture. Abstract

Land-use change significantly affects carbon emissions, particularly in rapidly growing cities such as Makassar. This study uses geospatial technology to analyze the impact of land cover changes on carbon emissions and sequestration in Makassar City from 2022 to 2041. The Rapid Carbon Stock Appraisal (RaCSA) method and the QUES-C feature of the LUMENS software were utilized to model land cover changes based on the Makassar City spatial planning scenario (RTRW). The results indicate that expanding residential areas and reducing green spaces, such as mangrove forests and agricultural land, have increased carbon emissions. However, carbon sequestration in certain areas, especially in the Tallo District and reclamation areas, has increased significantly due to the establishment of local protection zones. This study highlights the importance of spatial planning that supports the protection and restoration of green spaces to enhance carbon sequestration capacity and support sustainable development strategies in Makassar City.

Abstract

Population growth is increasing beyond previous estimates. The world's energy needs are also extensive and continue to grow. This puts pressure on the energy available in nature in the form of biomass, and the decreasing fossil energy. So, alternative energy sources are needed that can be renewed in the form of Biofuel Sources. In addition, the development of biofuel energy source plants is a solution to restore environmental conditions. Based on this, it is necessary to identify the types of energy sources and the potential for developing biofuel energy source plants in the Bonehau Watershed ecosystem. The method used is non-experimental mapping based on Geographic Information Systems. The initial stage of introducing the identification of types of energy use by the community based on accessibility density classes. Furthermore, an analysis of the potential for developing biofuel plants, namely Nyamplung and Kemiri Sunan, was carried out using a land suitability approach. The Bonehau Watershed community generally uses LPG and firewood energy to meet household energy needs. Most people use more firewood energy than LPG because the watershed area has low accessibility, and the availability of firewood around the community's residence is limited. Analysis of Biofuel Plant Land Suitability in the form of Nyamplung Plants has the potential of 25% and Kemiri Sunan Plants 34% of the watershed area to be developed. The potential for developing these plants can handle 59% of the critical land for Nyamplung plants and 74% for Kemiri Sunan plants, from the total critical land area
