Abstract

Wayang tauhid is a new wayang creation created by Ki Sunardi Wirocarito from Trucuk Klaten since 1984. This wayang is a type of wayang dakwah that contains the story of the struggle of the walisanga to spread Islam in Java. There has not been much research done on this wayang tauhid by experts. One of its popular plays is ‘Wedhare Sadat Tembayat (WST)’. The text of this play is full of ethical values conveyed by the puppeteer. The purpose of this study is to find the answer to the question, what is the purpose of Javanese life implied in the wayang tauhid play WST. This philosophical research can be categorised as qualitative research by taking a literature study model. The research method used is hermeneutic with philosophical methodical steps. The results of this study can be formulated that the achievement of the Javanese goal of life is characterised by the perfection of a balanced relationship with God, a balanced relationship with fellow humans, a balanced relationship with non-humans (being the other), and a balanced relationship with the surrounding nature.

Abstract

The view that humans are social creatures has now shifted to anti-social humans. Technological advances make humans abandon direct interaction in social life. The presence of technology also makes social relations between individuals and communities replaced with wireless networks. The role of parents in educating children has also changed. Although social interaction is now becoming easier and instantaneous, there is no essence of social interaction itself. Gotong Royong is one of the alternative activities that need to be preserved by the community To improve human status as social creatures. In addition, these activities can foster togetherness in building the sustainability of micro cosmos and macro cosmos in human life in the world.  The purpose of this study is to affirm the function and benefits of Gotong Royong in human experience through awareness of the saying "Memayu Hayuning Bawana" for Javanese people. This research is literature research using a phenomenological approach to the social life of the community towards mutual aid activities. The result of this study is to understand the essence of the spirit of mutual assistance so that society can put aside the ego of each individual to achieve better social goals. In addition, it can be aligned with the value of local wisdom "Memayu Hayuning Bawana" which is still maintained by some Javanese people to this day, especially village communities. This philosophy of life has been used as a guide and practice in preserving nature, preserving the environment, and harmony among humans. The saying is used as the spiritual path of the Javanese people.

Abstract

Wayang has a closeness to the behavior and mindset of Javanese people. It is believed that there is a broad and deep philosophical thought system. The wayang performance, character, or nature of the wayang figures conveys the intellectual values ​​of life. Each character comes from a reflection or representation of humans' attitude, character, and nature. Wayang Tauhid, the play Wedhare Sadat Tembayat, which is full of the delivery of philosophical values, is the object of this research. Based on the material object's characteristics, the study focuses on the metaphysical approach. How can humans reveal reality's most profound meaning through metaphysical studies and explanations. The purpose of this study and explanation is to open the way for humans to gain knowledge of the actual reality, namely the existence of Allah. This study is included in qualitative research in the realm of library research. Because the material object is philosophy, this study uses the hermeneutic philosophical method. The hermeneutic philosophical method provides a comprehensive and in-depth approach to studying philosophy. From a metaphysical perspective, the study's results indicate that the WST play has an existential orientation, suggesting that humans have material, emotional, and spiritual limitations. The WST play teaches humans to live based on the oneness of Allah, the True Being. Everything in the world is an event, as a being that does not exist, is only created by Allah, the True Being. This reminds humans that life in the world is only temporary and has limits, so life should not chase worldly things too much, but carry out human obligations to get closer to Allah through faithful prayer. This statement shows that the metaphysics of the WST play is monistic and spiritual.

Abstract

Abstract Causality is a fundamental concept in philosophy because it is important for understanding how things work in the world. The concept of four causes in Aristotle's philosophy, namely material, formal, efficient, and final causes, has an important role in the development of Islamic philosophy. This article will only focus on Aristotle's view as a starting point in the Physics and Metaphysics, especially those that explicitly discuss the problems of the four causes. The results are as follows: material cause (causa materialis) is the matter or physical substance from which an object or things are made. It is an important component of the nature of things, but is not sufficient on its own to explain the full nature of an object or phenomenon. Formal cause (causa formalis) is the special patterns, designs, or arrangements that give something an identity and determine its characteristic properties and behavior. It is a cause that helps us understand the intent or purpose of an object or phenomenon. Efficient cause (causa efficient) is agent or process that produce changes or movements in an object or phenomenon. It is the causes that help us understand the behavior and development of objects and phenomena. The final cause (causa finalis) is the purpose, end or purpose of an object or phenomenon, which gives it direction and meaning. It is cause that helps us understand the nature of things, and is important for understanding the purpose or inherent purpose of objects and phenomena.   Keyword: Aristotelian cause; material causes; formal cause; cause efficient; final cause   Abstrak Kausalitas adalah konsep fundamental dalam filsafat karena penting untuk memahami bagaimana sesuatu bekerja di dunia. Konsep empat sebab dalam filsafat Aristoteles, yaitu sebab material, formal, efisien, dan final, memiliki peran penting dalam perkembangan filsafat Islam. Tulisan hanya akan memfokuskan diri pada pandangan Aristoteles sebagai titik pijakan dalam teks Physics dan Metaphysics terutama yang secara eksplisit membahas masalah empat kausa tersebut. Hasilnya adalah sebagai berikut: penyebab material (causa materialis) adalah materi atau substansi fisik yang darinya suatu objek atau benda dibuat. Ini adalah komponen penting dari sifat benda, tetapi tidak cukup dengan sendirinya untuk menjelaskan sifat penuh dari suatu objek atau fenomena. Penyebab formal (causa formalis) adalah pola, desain, atau pengaturan khusus yang memberikan identitas pada sesuatu dan menentukan sifat dan perilaku karakteristiknya. Ini adalah penyebab yang membantu kita memahami maksud atau tujuan dari suatu objek atau fenomena. Penyebab efisien (causa efficient) adalah agen atau proses yang menghasilkan perubahan atau pergerakan pada suatu objek atau fenomena. Ini adalah penyebab yang membantu kita memahami perilaku dan perkembangan objek dan fenomena. Penyebab final (causa finalis) adalah maksud, akhir atau tujuan dari suatu objek atau fenomena, yang memberinya arah dan makna. Abstract

Climate change has impacted the sustainability of human life in the world both for the survival of current humans and future generations.  The purpose of writing this article is to explain the role of environmental ethics and intergenerational justice in responding to climate change so as to realize a sustainable life for the future. The method used is a qualitative method supported by sources of scientific articles, journals, research reports that support and are related to the main discussion. The results of the research show that environmental ethics and intergenerational justice have contributed to efforts to change the way humans view nature and climate change. The occurrence of climate change is partly caused by excessive human activities without paying attention to aspects of environmental balance. In addition, the views of environmental ethics and intergenerational justice can be integrated through policies in natural resource management so as to consider the sustainability of future life. Policies related to climate change need to be implemented and reflect intergenerational justice that is sustainable for the future.that is sustainable for the future. Thus, environmental ethics and intergenerational justice have a strong relationship with the environment.
