Abstract

AbstractThe main objective of this present study aimed at investigating utilization of Edmodo to be used as a learning strategy in teaching writing to the tenth grade students of Al-Azhar Bumi Serpong Damai. Both the advantages and disadvantages experienced by the teacher and students while writing Recount and Narrative activities are investigated during four cycles. Classroom action research was used as its basic design. Action research cycles like; (Plan, action, observation, and reflection) is used to get a clear data. As the instrument, the writer used triangulation technique. He did the observation, gave the questionnaire to the students, and did an interview with several students. The result of this research indicates that the utilization of Edmodo in which the process approach used in its activities such as writing for an audience, peer review, self-editing and revising has undoubtedly impacted on the students writing quality. Overall, the tenth grade students of Al-Azhar Bumi Serpong Damai perceive that Edmodo micro-blogging as a useful, reflective and effective writing tool. This study found that students are ready to embrace this tool to be part of their learning environment.  Keywords: edmodo, learning strategy,  teaching writing AbstrakTujuan utama dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menyelidiki pemanfaatan Edmodo untuk digunakan sebagai strategi pembelajaran dalam pengajaran menulis kepada siswa kelas X Al-Azhar Bumi Serpong Damai. Baik kelebihan maupun kekurangan yang dialami oleh guru dan siswa saat kegiatan menulis Recount dan Narrative diselidiki selama empat siklus.           Penelitian tindakan kelas digunakan sebagai desain dasarnya. Siklus penelitian tindakan seperti; (Plan, action, observasi, dan refleksi) digunakan untuk mendapatkan data yang jelas. Sebagai instrumennya, penulis menggunakan teknik triangulasi. Penulis melakukan observasi, memberi kuesioner kepada para siswa, dan melakukan wawancara dengan beberapa siswa. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pemanfaatan Edmodo dimana pendekatan proses yang digunakan dalam aktivitasnya seperti menulis untuk audiensi, peer review, editing sendiri dan revisi tidak diragukan lagi berdampak pada kualitas penulisan siswa. Secara keseluruhan, siswa kelas X Al-Azhar Bumi Serpong Damai. menganggap bahwa micro-blogging Edmodo sebagai alat tulis yang berguna, reflektif dan efektif. Studi ini menemukan bahwa siswa siap untuk merangkul alat ini untuk menjadi bagian dari lingkungan belajar mereka. Kata Kunci: edmodo, strategi belajar, pengajaran menulis

Abstract

This study was aimed at analysing the non-equivalence problem encountered while translating the Harry Potter novel using Google Translate. Two software (AntConc and AntPconc) are used to cluster the most top ten-word class (Adjective, Noun, Verb, and Adverb) shown in the novel. AntConc was used to create a Wordlist to find the frequency of the words in the English text, while AntPConc was used to select the two text files (English and Indonesian version) to be checked as parallel texts.This present study concluded that Google translate has been able to translate and provide good suggestion translation to the top ten list of Noun, Adjective, Verb, and adverb. However, several non-equivalence in the word and above-word levels are still found. The equivalence problem appears in multiple lines of verbs, adjectives, and adverbs from those top lists. Several translation approaches must be utilized in the post-editing process to provide a more natural translation output.

Abstract

The notion of Translanguaging is not something new in the context of EFL classroom but, both lecturer and student may not be familiar with the basic concept and how it is implemented in the classroom, that is why this paper is presented as argumentative essay focusing to explore the basic notion of Translanguaging from the perspective of lecture and students. It tried to explain about challenges and opportunities of bringing about Translanguaging to classroom practice. From the theories and several studies discussing about the implementation of Translanguaging, it is found that several findings support the practice of Translanguaging, while others found its drawback so that it is worth investigating to see on the lecturers' and students' perspectives. Since Translanguaging changes the way people think about second language learning, it needs to be viewed by students as both a threat and an opportunity. Lecturers, on the other hand, must see it as a university-wide theme applied to Translanguaging through active and collaborative learning.

Abstract

This research focused on handwriting disorders for dysgraphia students. The objective of this research are to analyze and to describe the types of perseveration and types of error in perseveration of 10 dysgraphia elementary school students. This research uses descriptive-qualitative method The data collection technique is from the worksheet that provided to students fill out. Research result discovered there were some perseveration types in dysgraphia found in elementary school students of Yayasan Pantara Jakarta. In this study, only one perseveration type is founded and the type was “Substitution”. The discussion of perseverations part involves ten words. Some students use misspelled words when they confuse one or more characters with different characters. This study also found that it is important to note that most of students have no problem in writing the first letter of a word, the error usually occurs on the next consecutive letter. it can be concluded that there were dysgraphia occure in elementary school students.

Abstract

This study focused on students' learning strategies and extensive reading experience, as well as the varied tactics and disparities between them. In this study, the narrative inquiry method was applied. We polled ten active university students from a variety of disciplines and faculties. While conducting the intensive reading tasks, the researchers asked the respondents a few questions and asked them to discuss their experiences. The students were also interviewed over the phone by the researchers. The researchers chose the responders at random, without considering their major, knowledge, or other factors. Based on the findings, we can deduce that each student has similar challenges and employs a similar learning technique. The majority of them use online dictionaries to look up the definitions of new words.

Abstract

The objective of this research is to explore to what extent pre-service teacher uses critical thinking activities in their lesson plans. The research carried out pre-service teachers’ lesson plans during teaching practicum. The lesson plans analyzed are made by the pre-service teacher for the second grade in secondary school. The research embodied content analysis research to find out the critical thinking activities in pre-service teachers’ lesson plans. The results show nine of the eleven lesson plans have used thinking activities. The critical thinking activities contained in the lesson plan are essays, group discussions, student presentations, and analytical questions in their lesson plans. In conclusion, pre-service teachers provided various activities that contain critical thinking in their lesson plans with percentage 82%.

Abstract

Abstract: Implementation Of The Kampus Mengajar Program At The Nurani Private Elementary School Jakarta. Kampus Mengajar is part of the program Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) aims to help elementary schools affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. One of the schools targeted by this program is the Nurani Private Elementary School Jakarta.The purpose of this research is to find out and analyze how the implementation of the Kampus Mengajar Program is in the target schools by referring to the theory of implementation of David C. Korten and its relation to literacy, numeracy, technology adaptation, and administration activities in the target schools. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative with data collection in the form of interviews, observations, and documentation. The results of the study explained that the implementation of the Kampus Mengajar Program at SDS Nurani went well. This is reviewed based on the aspects of the suitability of the program with the target, the program with the implementer, and the implementer with the right target. Literacy activities carried out by students are helping students in reading and writing. In the field of numeracy, students teach students various forms of mathematical calculations and their solutions. The technological adaptations carried out by students at SDS Nurani are to help teachers create interesting learning media and help use various online applications for learning. In terms of administration, students assist teachers in correcting student assignments and exams, supervising exams for grade 6 students, and helping fill out e-reports.Keywords: Implementation, Kampus Mengajar Program, SDS NuraniAbstrak: Implementasi Program Kampus Mengajar di Sekolah Dasar Swasta Nurani Jakarta. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui dan menganalisis bagaimana implementasi Program Kampus Mengajar di sekolah sasaran dengan mengacu pada teori implementasi David C. Korten dan keterkaitannya dengan kegiatan literasi, numerasi, adaptasi teknologi, dan administrasi di sekolah sasaran. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan pengumpulan data berupa wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menjelaskan bahwa implementasi Program Kampus Mengajar di SDS Nurani berjalan dengan baik. Hal ini ditinjau berdasarkan aspek kesesuaian program dengan sasaran, program dengan pelaksana, dan pelaksana dengan sasaran yang sudah tepat. Kegiatan literasi yang dilakukan mahasiswa adalah membantu siswa dalam membaca dan menulis. Dalam bidang numerasi, mahasiswa mengajari siswa beragam bentuk perhitungan matematika beserta penyelesainnya. Adaptasi teknologi yang dilakukan mahasiswa di SDS Nurani adalah membantu guru membuat media pembelajaran yang menarik dan membantu penggunaan berbagai aplikasi daring untuk pembelajaran. Dalam hal administrasi, mahasiswa membantu guru-guru untuk mengoreksi tugas dan ujian siswa, mengawasi ujian siswa kelas 6, serta membantu mengisi e-raport.Kata kunci: Implementasi, Program Kampus Mengajar, SDS Nurani

Abstract

Owning a motivation to learn the English language can act as a catalyst to success in the student’s professional career. Nonetheless, the student’s English proficiency and motivation to learn English cannot be attained unless the teacher implemented some strategies in the classroom. This prompted the researcher to investigate students’ motivation despite their shortcomings in the EFL classroom. The study aims to investigate students’ motivation and explore the teacher’s strategies to motivate students. The study was conducted by a case-study design using secondary students as participants. The findings indicated that the students were equally motivated to learn English, either intrinsic or extrinsic.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengevaluasi pelaksanaan Kampus Mengajar Angkatan 5 di Sekolah Dasar Negeri 01 Jelambar dengan menggunakan model evaluasi CIPP (context, input, process, product). Desain dasar penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Data untuk penelitian ini dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi selama empat bulan. Kepala sekolah, guru, dan empat mahasiswa menjadi subjek penelitian ini. Berdasarkan evaluasi context, program ini terlaksana dengan baik karena dilengkapi dengan persiapan dalam menyamakan persepsi, petunjuk teknis, dan rencana kerja sebelum dan selama pelaksanaan program. Berdasarkan evaluasi input, program terlaksana dengan baik karena unsur-unsur yang terlibat diberikan tabel checklist kegiatan yang harus diselesaikan dan siswa diminta memberikan laporan mingguan untuk memantau kesesuaian kegiatan dengan rencana program. Berdasarkan evaluasi process, program ini dengan baik menerapkan proses kegiatan pada bidang literasi, numerasi, adaptasi teknologi, dan pendampingan administrasi, yang dapat dipantau melalui kegiatan diskusi bersama antara Kepala Sekolah, Guru, Dosen Pembimbing Lapangan, dan Mahasiswa. Berdasarkan evaluasi product, ditemukan adanya peningkatan kemampuan membaca dan berhitung siswa. Dukungan administratif dianggap bermanfaat oleh para Guru, meskipun adaptasi teknologi masih diyakini memiliki dampak kecil. Berdasarkan evaluasi dampak, tanggapan positif diberikan oleh Kepala Sekolah, Guru Pamong, dan mahasiswa. Berdasarkan evaluasi efektifitas, program ini sangat efektif dalam meningkatkan nilai literasi dan numerasi para peserta didik di Sekolah Dasar Negeri 01 Jelambar.

Abstract

Focus of this research was regarding epenthesis in written wordsof students in Pasir luhur elementary school, Bandung. the writer assumed to identify [1] the way of epenthesis that is written by students and [2] which grapheme that will be found frequently addthe written words. The researcher used descriptive qualitative research methods in this study, which meant that participants were involved in case studies that produced narratives and descriptive explanations about settings or practices. The object of exploration that the writer analyzed in this study is the handwriting made by 10 representative students in one classroom. From the analysis, the writer found a way that made the result of written word became so identic. The results of the research showed that the students experienced epenthesis by added certain letter in the middle of word. The most frequently epenthesis happened is in consonant grapheme. this research can add to the literature for other researchers in the field of psycholinguistics and become a reference for other researcher for linguistic studies
