Abstract

Introduction. Diabetes mellitus is a metabolic disorder characterized by abnormal metabolism of carbohydrates, fats and proteins caused by decreased insulin secretion or decreased insulin sensitivity. Therefore, there is a need for monitoring in therapy management and the need for attention in medication compliance in order to achieve treatment success. The purpose of this study is to find out the analysis of factors related to medication adherence in patients with diabetes mellitus. Methods. This study uses a descriptive correlative cross sectional approach. The sampling technique used purposive sampling and obtained a sample of 142 respondents. The instrument used in the questionnaire. Results and Analysis. The study showed that multivariate analysis using simple linear regression showed that the most influential variable on medication adherence in DM patients was the role of health workers with the results of p = 0.010 and B = 0.553. The role of good health workers will increase compliance by 0.553 times, compared to the role of bad health workers. Adherence to medication is an important value in the success of DM therapy. One of the causes that affects patient compliance in undergoing treatment is poor communication between patients and health workers. Discussion. Health worker support has an important role, namely the delivery of information about health conditions and what patients should do. The attitude and behavior of health workers is a factor that strengthens or encourages the behavior of adherence to treatment in patients.

Abstract

The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic has had a big impact on the world of education. Because of online learning, smartphones have a very important role in meeting these needs. Smartphones have a negative impact that can be felt by students when used in their continuous learning is Digital Eye Strain (DES) or often referred to as eye fatigue. This study aims to determine the relationship between the rate of smartphone addiction and the incidence of digital eye strain in adolescents aged 13 – 15 years at Yohanes Gabriel Pare Junior High School. This study used a cross-sectional design. The sample selection used purposive sampling with a total of 115 respondents. The research was conducted using DES questionnaires. The results of the Kendall's Tau test showed that the correlation test results were known to have a significance value, or Sig. (2-tailed), between the variable level of smartphone addiction and the incidence of DES was 0.001. While the correlation is significant at 0.05, the value is 0.001 < 0.05. There is a significant relationship between the level of smartphone addiction and the incidence of digital eye strain in adolescents aged 13-15 years at Yohanes Gabriel Pare Junior High School. Smartphone addiction can affect eye function. The duration and frequency of prolonged smartphone use can affect dry eyes, redness, and the onset of DES symptoms.

Abstract

Background. Determination of triage in the process and handling can have an impact on the length of patient triage. Conditions that require the selection of this color accuracy require time according to their needs so this sometimes causes family anxiety about ignorance about the triage. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the level of knowledge and attitudes about triage with the anxiety level of the patient's family in the emergency room of RSUI Madinah Kasembon. Research Method. The research design is a descriptive correlative cross-sectional approach with the Kendall tau test. The sampling technique used purposive sampling and got a total sample of 266 respondents the families of patients. The research variables were knowledge, attitude, and anxiety level. Findings. The results showed the characteristics of the family's knowledge level in the moderate category, the characteristics of the family's attitude in the unfavorable category, and the characteristics of the family's anxiety level in the moderate category. The results of data analysis showed that there was a relationship between the level of knowledge about triage with the anxiety level of the patient's family in the emergency room (signed p= 0.023) and there was a relationship between the attitude about triage with the anxiety level of the patient's family in the emergency room (signed p= 0.001). Conclusion. There is a relationship between the level of knowledge and attitudes about triage with the anxiety level of the patient's family in the emergency room of RSUI Madinah Kasembon.
