Abstract

This community service activity (PKM) aims to provide information and knowledge about "The Dangers of Industrial Waste to Human Survival" at SMAS YPK Diaspora Kotaraja Jayapura. This community service uses a participatory approach that actively involves students in every stage of the activity. The design of the activity follows the Community-Based Participatory Research (CBPR) model which emphasizes collaboration between lecturers, teachers, and students at SMAS YPK Diaspora Kotaraja Jayapura in identifying problems, planning, implementation, and evaluation. During the activity, participants participated enthusiastically and were committed to protecting the school environment, residence, and community from the dangers of industrial waste to human survival

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dampak pembuangan sampah terhadap lingkungan di sekitar Sungai Acai Kota Jayapura. Pendekatan kualitatif digunakan dalam penelitian ini dengan metode utamanya yaitu analisis deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan cara yaitu pengamatan, wawancara dengan informan, dan dokumentasi penelitian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa adanya dampak negatif dari aktivitas pembuangan sampah terhadap lingkungan di sekitar Sungai Acai Kota Jayapura seperti: (1) Pencemaran air; (2) Kerusakan ekosistem; (3) Penghambatan aliran air; (4) Terjadinya pendangkalan sungai; dan (5) Mengakibatkan terjadinya banjir.

Abstract

This Community Service (PKM) activity was titled "Training on Making Liquid Organic Fertilizer (POC) from Banana Peel Waste" at MA Yaa Bunayya Jayapura. The main objective of this PKM activity was to raise students' awareness of environmental protection by making liquid organic fertilizer (POC) from banana peel waste. This community service activity used a participatory approach, actively involving students in every stage of the activity. The methods used were training, lectures, Q&A sessions, group discussions, and presentations. A project-based design was used in this activity because it involved the development of specific projects that could help students, teachers, and the school community through waste management. The results of the PKM activity indicated that training on making Liquid Organic Fertilizer (POC) from banana peel waste can be an effective way to increase students' awareness and skills in environmentally friendly waste management. Thus, this training can benefit students, the school, and the surrounding environment, ensuring a sustainable human life free from banana peel waste. This training also serves as a good example for the community to develop sustainable waste management practices.

Abstract

His study aims to analyze the physical characteristics of sediments based on grain size and grain shape in order to interpret sediment provenance, transportation processes, and depositional environments. Granulometric analysis was carried out using the sieve analysis method with a series of graded sieves to obtain grain size distribution. The grain size data were then classified using the Wentworth Scale to identify sediment types and interpret the energy conditions of the depositional environment. In addition to grain size analysis, morphometric analysis was conducted by measuring the three main axes of sediment grains (length, width, and thickness) and determining grain roundness using the Powers Scale (1953) to infer transport distance and intensity. This research was conducted in the Puay and Abe Pantai areas, Jayapura, which were selected due to their diverse sediment types ranging from clay to pebble-sized materials. The results indicate that variations in grain size and grain shape reflect differences in energy conditions and depositional mechanisms at the study sites. Therefore, granulometric and morphometric analyses are effective methods for interpreting sedimentary processes and depositional environment characteristics in coastal areas.

Abstract

Kegiatan penambangan PT. Bara Alam Utama  pada penelitian ini difokuskan di Pit Barat dengan target produksi batubara yang direncanakan adalah 87.416,66 ton atau 2.819,90 ton/hari dan pada pengangkutan overburden direncanakan sebesar 303.833,33 m3 atau 9.801,08 m3/hari dengan menggunakan 2 unit alat muat Excavator Caterpillar 390D dan tiap unitnya menggunakan 4 unit OHT Caterpillar 775F sebagai alat angkut ke disposal yang berjarak  ± 2,5 km. Berdasarkan data aktual yang diolah maka diperoleh waktu edar (cycle time) untuk alat muat 0,40 menit dengan efisiensi kerja 50% dan 18,36 menit dengan efisiensi kerja 69% untuk alat angkut, sehingga diperoleh produksi overburden untuk alat muat adalah 217.596,80 m3/bulan dan produksi untuk alat angkut adalah 156.986,00 m3/bulan, MF ( match factor) = 0,5 (MF < 1) berarti pada keadaan ini menunjukkan bahwa alat muat mempunyai waktu tunggu dan alat angkut bekerja penuh, dimana target produksi belum tercapai.  Dengan adanya evaluasi perhitungan data diperoleh efisiensi kerja untuk alat muat 85% dengan waktu edar 0,40 menit dan efisiensi kerja untuk alat angkut 85% dengan waktu edar 16,45 menit. Dimana produksi untuk alat muat adalah 528.431,20 m3/bulan dan 308,460 m3/bulan untuk alat angkut dari front penambangan di Pit Barat ke disposal, sehingga target produksi yang tadinya direncanakan dapat terpenuhi
