Abstract

Jamaah Ansharut Daulah (JAD) is one of the extreme Islamic groups that has a strong influence in the spread of takfiriism in Indonesia. This group has proven to be strongly affiliated with ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and Syria), which is an extreme transnational Islamic group. JAD is one of the extreme groups in Indonesia that has the most followers and is spread throughout Indonesia. This is based on the large number of Indonesian people, especially Muslims who are exposed to JAD ideology. JAD has a different character from its predecessor group which also carried out acts of terrorism. JAD's character is like targeting a near enemy, disbelieving all those who serve the country, carrying out lone wolf actions, involving one family in its jihad, and involving women. Thus, this research leads to a form of counter-narrative/preventive effort as a form of self-defense to dispel such dangerous narratives. The study in this study uses a descriptive analysis model based on library research by taking data sourced from primary data, as well as secondary data. The findings in this study provide a new way of anticipating extreme narratives taught by JAD (Jamaah Ansharut Daulah), namely through the analysis of Ludwig Wittgenstein's language games. Through this analysis it can be found that there is a structure of propaganda language games, inciting, praying, and orders that are delivered religiously and in the form of justifications. Therefore, the analysis of language games provides a way, namely by paying attention to words according to their use in sentences, paying attention to the meaning of sentences according to their use in language, and paying attention to the meaning of language according to their use in life.

Abstract

The study of yellow books is a treasure trove of classical Islamic knowledge and has served as the hallmark and primary identity of Islamic boarding schools education in Indonesia for centuries. Amidst the rapid development of technology and the emergence of a "digital native" generation, Islamic boarding schools now face inherent challenges in maintaining the tradition of classical methodology while embracing educational innovation. In this case, the author uses a literature review method with the aim of analyzing and comparing the implementation of yellow books learning using the traditional sorogan method with digital-based innovation methods. By analyzing four primary documents (three theses and one indexed journal article from 2012 – 2024), this study found that the sorogan method implemented at the Al-Munawwaroh Kepahiang and Miftahul Ulum Malang Islamic Boarding Schools has significant advantages in fostering depth of understanding, a sense of responsibility, and direct interaction between students and kyai, although it is constrained by the need for high time and patience. In contrast, the digital approach developed by Islamic Boarding School students at IAIN Bone offers acfcessibility, flexibility, and collaboration across time, but still requires intensive digital literacy mentoring. Student oriented Islamic boarding schools like Ibnu Katsir 2 in Jember demonstrate a hybrid model that integrates both. This study concludes that neither approach is absolutely superior; sorogan remains the lifeblood of character formation and depth of interpretation, while digital technology provides an inclusive solution in the millennial era. The primary recommendation is the development of a blended learning model for the yellow book (kitab kuning) that combines the power of sorogan with an open digital platform.

Abstract

Abstract

Through descriptive research with direct data collection from learning activities at the Mabaus Sholihin Islamic Boarding School, it was found that the Arabic language teaching model that integrates Islamic moderation values is able to improve linguistic competence while shaping the moderate character of students. Students are not only proficient in reading and understanding Arabic texts, but are also able to internalize the values of rahmatan lil 'alamin in everyday life. This model maintains Islamic boarding school traditions such as sorogan and bandongan, but is enriched with communicative methods, interactive discussions, and project-based learning so that it is more relevant to the needs of the times. The results of the study confirm that the integration of Islamic moderation values in Arabic language teaching at the Mabaus Sholihin Islamic Boarding School is an effective strategy for producing a generation of Muslims who are not only experts in religious knowledge, but also have a tolerant, balanced, and progressive attitude in facing the challenges of a multicultural society.
