Abstract

This program aims to improve the competitiveness of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Tasikmalaya through product innovation development strategies. This program adopts an interdisciplinary approach that includes several stages, from identifying needs to evaluating performance. The main activities carried out include local potential analysis, technical and managerial skills training, innovation assistance, and product evaluation. The results achieved from this program include innovative product prototypes, publication of scientific articles, video documentation, and draft Intellectual Property Rights (IPR). This program proves that collaboration based on science and technology can empower MSMEs, encourage the development of more competitive products, and support sustainable local economic development.

Abstract

Pembuatan sebuah desain alat pemotong briket manual yang mampu meningkatan hasil dan kualitas produksi briket tempurung kelapa pada UMKM Black Charcoal. Pada penelitian menggunakan metode mix method bersifat dinilai lebih rumit dari sekadar menelaah dan mengumpulkan lebih dari satu data sebab membutuhkan keterlibatan dari dua pendekatan secara bersamaan, agar hasil yang diperoleh saat penelitian lebih kuat daripada penelitian yang dilakukan hanya dengan satu jenis pendekatan. Pada perancangan mesin pemotong manual briket arang tempurung kepala menggunakan pendekatan design thinking. Metode ini merupakan pendekatan yang dapat digunakan dalam menyelesaikan persoalan yang berfokus pada pengguna/user. Dalam penelitian ini dapat dihasilkan bahwa kurang maksimal akibat alat produksi yang terbatas sehingga menghasilkan produk briket tempurung kelapa dengan kualitas kurang baik sehingga perlu dilakukannya penelitian lebih lanjut.
