Abstract

This study analyzes the use of Madurese suffixes in short stories written by students of Pondok Pesantren Fathul Mu'ien, Jember. The research focuses on the application of seven types of Madurese suffixes, namely {-e}, {-a}, {-an}, {-en}, {-na}, {-ana}, and {-aghi}, within verbs, nouns, and adjectives. A descriptive qualitative method with a morphological analysis approach was employed. Data were collected through documentation of the students' short story works. The results show that Madurese suffixes contribute unique morphophonemic nuances, such as emphasis, possession, and action indication. Furthermore, the use of suffixes reflects the students' creativity in utilizing the Madurese language as a medium of literary expression. These findings emphasize the significant role of morphology in preserving cultural heritage and enriching Indonesia's linguistic studies. This research is expected to serve as a reference in linguistic and regional literature studies, particularly regarding the development of the Madurese language in contemporary literary works.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the use of active and passive sentences in the Bahasa Indonesia: Aku Bisa! textbook used in Grade 1 of elementary school under the Merdeka Curriculum. Textbooks play an important role in the learning process, particularly as examples of proper and correct language use for students. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach using documentation techniques to identify and analyze sentence structures based on appropriate linguistic rules. The main focus of the study is to reveal the forms of active and passive sentences used, and to assess their accuracy in terms of structure and appropriateness for young learners' language development. The findings show that some sentences are structurally inaccurate, overly complex, or misaligned with the cognitive development of first-grade students. Such issues can hinder students' understanding of the learning material. Therefore, editing is necessary to simplify and correct sentence structures so that they are more communicative and easier to understand. This study emphasizes the importance of the editing process in textbook development to ensure high linguistic quality, support effective learning, and align with the principles of the student-centered Merdeka Curriculum.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran pola tidur mahasiswa serta dampaknya terhadap konsentrasi belajar dan prestasi belajar mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia (PBSI) Universitas Muhammadiyah Jember. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain survei korelasional. Variabel bebas dalam penelitian ini adalah pola tidur, sedangkan variabel terikat meliputi konsentrasi belajar dan prestasi belajar. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh mahasiswa PBSI Universitas Muhammadiyah Jember, dengan sampel sebanyak 51 responden yang dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui kuesioner daring menggunakan Google Form yang disusun berdasarkan indikator durasi dan keteraturan tidur, konsentrasi belajar, serta pencapaian prestasi akademik. Instrumen penelitian diuji reliabilitasnya menggunakan koefisien Cronbach’s α. Hasil uji reliabilitas menunjukkan bahwa instrumen pola tidur memiliki nilai Cronbach’s α sebesar 0,756, konsentrasi belajar sebesar 0,909, dan prestasi belajar sebesar 0,717, yang menandakan bahwa seluruh instrumen berada pada kategori reliabel. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pola tidur mahasiswa PBSI Unmuh Jember cenderung bervariasi, baik dari segi durasi maupun keteraturannya. Konsentrasi belajar mahasiswa berada pada kategori baik, meskipun masih ditemukan rasa lelah saat mengikuti perkuliahan. Prestasi belajar mahasiswa tergolong cukup baik, namun belum sepenuhnya merata. Temuan penelitian mengindikasikan bahwa pola tidur berperan penting dalam menunjang konsentrasi belajar mahasiswa, yang secara tidak langsung berkontribusi terhadap prestasi belajar. Oleh karena itu, pengelolaan pola tidur yang baik menjadi faktor penting dalam mendukung keberhasilan akademik mahasiswa.
