Abstract

Kenaikan permukaan air laut merupakan ancaman serius di kawasan pesisir, khususnya di kota-kota pelabuhan seperti Jakarta, Semarang, dan Surabaya yang terletak di Laut Jawa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis interaksi antara anomali tinggi muka air laut dari data satelit Altimetri AVISO, suhu permukaan laut, dan faktor oseanografi serta atmosfer lainnya. Peningkatan suhu permukaan laut akibat variasi iklim berkontribusi pada ekspansi termal air laut, yang pada gilirannya meningkatkan rata-rata tinggi muka air laut. Dinamika perairan yang menyebabkan anomali tinggi muka air laut secara spasial, dipengaruhi oleh pola musim dan fenomena seperti ekman transport, teramati berperan penting dalam redistribusi suhu permukaan air laut. Puncak anomali tinggi muka air laut terjadi pada bulan Mei, dengan tinggi anomali mencapai +0,2 m, yang bersamaan dengan suhu air laut sebesar 32°C dan transport ekman ke arah selatan. Sehingga, secara spasial anomali tinggi muka air lebih tinggi di pantai utara Pulau Jawa. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa anomali tinggi muka air laut berkorelasi positif dengan suhu permukaan laut. Melalui analisis Principal Component Analysis (PCA), ditemukan bahwa dua komponen utama (F1 dan F2) menyumbang total 78,47% dari variabilitas data, dengan F1 menjelaskan 58,86% dan F2 menjelaskan 19,61%. Hubungan antara suhu permukaan laut dan anomali tinggi muka air laut tercermin pada vektor yang lebih panjang, menunjukkan pengaruh signifikan kedua variabel ini terhadap dinamika laut. Temuan penelitian ini memberikan wawasan penting untuk pengelolaan sumber daya kelautan dan strategi penanggulangan dampak variasi iklim yang lebih efektif di wilayah pesisir.

Abstract

Educational ecotourism activities focused on high school students at the Tarakan Mangrove and Bekantan Conservation Area (KKMB) aim to increase students' awareness and knowledge of the importance of mangrove ecosystems. Through a series of interesting and interactive activities such as educational games and direct observation, participants are invited to understand the important role of mangroves as habitats for various biota, coastal protection, and carbon captured. Evaluation results show that this activity has successfully achieved its objectives. Participants showed high enthusiasm and increased understanding of mangrove ecosystems. The educational materials presented, especially educational games, were considered effective in conveying complex information in an enjoyable way. This activity was able to increase ecological understanding and awareness by 89%. However, there are still some aspects that need to be improved, such as the development of more varied educational materials and the improvement of supporting facilities for activities. Overall, this activity is a good first step in efforts to increase public awareness, especially among the younger generation, about the importance of preserving mangrove ecosystems. This activity can be used as a model for similar environmental education activities in other regions.

Abstract

This study presents a comprehensive analysis of benthic habitat distribution and public infrastructure on Tunda Island, aimed at developing effective tourism zoning strategies. By integrating high-resolution spatial data derived from field surveys and remote sensing technologies, including multispectral imagery and Geographic Information System (GIS) methodologies, the research delineates distinct zones optimal for diverse tourism activities. The findings indicate that the southern and southeastern parts of the island, characterized by sandy substrates and proximity to resorts and docks, are well-suited for intensive tourism. Conversely, the northern and northwestern regions, dominated by coral and rocky substrates, are proposed for conservation-oriented educational tourism due to their rich biodiversity. The research also highlights the potential of community-based tourism facilitated by existing public infrastructure such as schools and mosques, which supports local engagement in tourism development. The resultant zoning map serves as a vital tool for local authorities and stakeholders in Tunda Island, guiding sustainable tourism management practices that value ecological integrity and community involvement. This study underscores the importance of interdisciplinary approaches in ecological monitoring and tourism planning, contributing to the broader discourse on sustainable practices in small island contexts

Abstract

Hydraulic experiments in a two-dimensional physical laboratory were conducted to evaluate the performance of pile breakwaters in reducing wave energy. The piles on the breakwater were arranged in a staggered pattern in two rows. A total of seventy-two simulation scenarios were run based on variations in the incoming wave height and period, and the spacing between the piles, using a 1:10 model scale. The data from the hydraulic tests were then processed using a spectral method that could separate the energy spectra of reflected and transmitted waves. These changes result in reflected and transmitted waves. The laboratory test data were used to estimate the values of the transmission coefficient and reflection coefficient. Both coefficients were then used to validate semi-empirical formulas for the two coefficients. The semi-empirical formulas for the two coefficients were developed based on a model for estimating the spatial porosity of pile breakwaters. The porosity estimation model takes into account the dimensions of the piles and the dimensional components of the breakwater, including the arrangement, number of rows, and spacing between the piles. The validation results of the semi-empirical formulas with the laboratory test data showed a coefficient of determination of 0.917 and a root mean square of 0.077. The staggered arrangement improves the effectiveness of the breakwater in reducing the transmission wave height. The developed semi-empirical model can be used to design the pile dimensions to achieve optimal reflected and transmitted wave heights for coastal protection. Abstract

Struktur pemecah gelombang banyak dimanfaatkan untuk perlindungan pantai dari hantaman gelombang laut yang berpropagasi ke daerah pesisir pantai. Salah satu inovasi pemecah gelombang yang sedang dikembangkan yaitu struktur tiang pancang. Tiang pancang merupakan replikasi batang pohon bakau yang dapat meredam energi gelombang. Tujuan dalam penelitian ini untuk menganalisis efektivitas struktur tiang pancang dengan menganalisis perilaku gelombang sebelum dan sesudah bertabrakan dengan struktur tiang pancang berdasarkan pembagian teori gelombang. Simulasi laboratorium fisik telah dilakukan untuk mendapatkan data gelombang yang berinteraksi dengan struktur tiang pancang. Selanjutnya, dilakukan analisis spektrum energi untuk menentukan spektrum energi gelombang datang, refleksi dan transmisi dari pengukuran wave probe berupa data time series. Masing-masing spektrum energi digunakan untuk melihat kemampuan refleksi dan transmisi dari struktur tiang pancang dari koefisien refleksi dan transmisi. Nilai koefisien refleksi dan transmisi diestimasi dengan persamaan polinomial derajat tiga menghasilkan dan dengan variabel parameter dasar gelombang yaitu tinggi gelombang, periode gelombang dan kedalaman perairan. Titik kritis dari persamaan polinomial menunjukkan nilai koefisien refleksi dan transmisi minimum ketika berada pada daerah Cnoidal dan maksimum ketika berada pada daerah Stokes orde-2.
