Abstract

The holistic approach in curriculum planning is an innovative strategy in responding to the challenges of 21st century education. The purpose of this study is to analyze the implementation of a holistic approach in the curriculum planning process and examine its impact on improving the quality of education. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method, with content analysis techniques of various scientific literature and case studies of educational institutions that have implemented a holistic curriculum in the last five years. The results show that the holistic approach is able to increase student engagement, strengthen character, and encourage meaningful, contextual, and learner-centered learning. The holistically designed curriculum integrates cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects in a balanced manner, as well as considering cultural values and technological developments. The novelty of this research lies in the focus of its study on the curriculum planning process not only the implementation of learning which has been under-researched, especially in the context of Indonesian education. This research provides theoretical and practical contributions in the preparation of an educational curriculum that is more relevant, humane, and adaptive to the dynamics of the times.

Abstract

A deep understanding of cost theory and concepts is crucial in supporting managerial decision-making, strategic planning, and performance evaluation in business and education. This article aims to explore and analyze the mastery of conceptual and practical knowledge of students and practitioners of cost theory, types of costs, and their application in operational activities. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with literature study techniques and field observations in academic environments and small-medium scale businesses. The results show that there is a gap between the theoretical understanding obtained through formal learning and practical application in the field, especially in the classification of fixed, variable, direct, indirect, and relevant costs. This article suggests the need for integration between real case-based learning and the utilization of digital technology in the learning process of cost theory in order to have a more applicable and contextual understanding. These findings can be the basis for curriculum development that is more responsive to labor market needs.

Abstract

This study explores the strategic management practices of the principal of Madrasah Aliyah Darul Falah Bandar Lampung in enhancing teacher performance. In the context of increasing educational demands, school leadership plays a pivotal role in improving teaching quality through planned, measurable strategies. The research aims to identify the principal’s strategic steps, evaluate their effectiveness, and understand their impact on teachers' pedagogical competence, discipline, and digital literacy. Using a qualitative approach with descriptive methods, data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The principal’s strategy was implemented through four key stages: SWOT-based internal-external analysis, strategic vision formulation, program implementation (training, supervision, teacher collaboration), and continuous evaluation with feedback integration. The findings indicate significant improvement in teacher performance, particularly in lesson preparation, attendance, and technology integration. These outcomes suggest that strategic planning based on participatory analysis and reflective evaluation can create a collaborative, adaptive, and forward-looking school culture. The study concludes that the role of a visionary and responsive principal is crucial in shaping a high-performing educational institution. These findings provide a practical model that can be adopted by other Islamic schools to improve teacher performance. Future studies could explore the quantitative impact of such strategies on student outcomes or replicate the model across different educational levels.

Abstract

Islamic education programs operate within complex educational environments that demand both measurable accountability and the preservation of Islamic moral spiritual values, creating distinctive challenges for program evaluation. This study aims to critically synthesize and conceptualize scholarly perspectives on the evaluation of Islamic education programs by examining their underlying principles, dominant frameworks, and implementation practices. Employing a conceptual and narrative literature review design, relevant studies published between 2018 and 2025 in internationally indexed and nationally accredited journals were purposively selected and thematically analyzed to identify convergent and divergent patterns. The findings reveal that evaluation practices in Islamic education remain largely dominated by outcome-based and accountability-driven models, often driven by external quality assurance and accreditation requirements, which inadequately represent holistic educational aims such as ethical formation and spiritual development. At the same time, the literature consistently emphasizes value-based evaluation principles grounded in Islamic educational philosophy, including holistic human development, moral accountability, and maqāṣid al-sharīʿah, yet these principles are rarely operationalized within coherent evaluative frameworks.
