Abstract

Mathematical communication skill is very important for university students because through communication, students can convey their mathematical ideas, knowledge and arguments. However, the facts show that the written mathematical communication skills of students majoring in Mathematics Education at IAIN Tulungagung are classified as low. The low written mathematical communication skill of students is indicated by errors in writing mathematical symbols on an equation and unsystematic writing of the steps to solve mathematical problems. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of the Think Pair Share (TPS) learning model using Google Classroom media to improve the written mathematical communication skill of IAIN Tulungagung students. Several previous researchers have reviewed the use of Google Classroom in learning, but it was not integrated with the TPS learning model and did not focus on the influence on students' mathematical communication skill. The study sample was 40 students of the 5th semester in 2019/2020 academic year majoring in Mathematics Education at IAIN Tulungagung who took the Differential Equation course. The data collection was carried out by providing a pretest and posttest before and after implementing the learning using the TPS model with Google Classroom media. Then, the data from the pretest and posttest results were analyzed using the Wilcoxon test because the data were not normally distributed. The results of this study showed that the TPS learning model using Google Classroom media could improve the students' mathematical communication skill.

Abstract

This research is motivated by several factors including the lack of interest in learning of students as evidenced by the lack of participation of students in learning activities, the delay of students in submitting assignments and the lack of attention of students during learning activities takes place. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of applying the Attention Relevance Confidence Satisfaction (ARCS) learning model on students' learning interest. This study uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design. The population of this study were all class VII students of SMPN 2 Ngantru Tulungagung for the 2021/2022 academic year. Sampling was done by purposive sampling. The results of this study indicate that there is an effect of the application of ARCS learning model on the learning interest of class VII students at SMPN 2 Ngantru Tulungagung on the Quadrilateral Materials

Abstract

Model pembelajaran Probem Based Learning yang berpusat pada siswa ini bisa digunakan secara optimal untuk meningkatkan pencapaian peserta didik. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah melakukan tinjauan pustaka mengenai model pebelajaran PBL untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar peserta didik. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode Systematic Literature Research (SLR) yang melalui tahapan mengidentifikasi, mengkaji, mengevaluasi, dan mengevaluasi artikel yang relevan. Penelitian ini menggunakan 38 artikel yang sudah tersaring bersumber dari Google Scholar, Publish or Perish, dan Garba Rujukan Digital. Hasil penelitian ini membuktikan bahwa pengunaan model pembelajaran PBL dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar peserta didik

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui penerapan model Problem Based Learning (PBL) dengan bantuan e-komik membantu siswa memahami konsep matematis. Model PBL dan e-komik dikombinasikan untuk membuat pembelajaran yang menarik, kontekstual, dan relevan bagi siswa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah quasi eksperimen dengan desain pretest dan posttest. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara, observasi, dan tes pemahaman matematis siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa lebih memahami konsep matematis dengan bantuan e-komik. Kemampuan pemahaman matematis siswa meningkat sebesar 49%, yang tergolong dalam kategori sedang, berdasarkan analisis data Ngain; nilai rata-rata kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa pada pretest dan posttest masing-masing meningkat menjadi 50,6% dan 75%, sedangkan persentase siswa tuntas dari 7,1% mencapai 89%. Angket respon menunjukkan peningkatan aktivitas siswa dalam pembelajaran matematika, sebesar 60,4% siswa menyatakan respon yang positif. Oleh karena itu, menerapkan model ini dapat menjadi strategi pembelajaran matematika yang efektif pada kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis.

Abstract

Memiliki kemampuan literasi dan berpikir kritis bagi siswa diharapkan mampu menyelesaikan masalah kehidupan sehari-hari dengan tepat dan cepat. Penelitian ini akan mengkaji peran literasi matematika pada kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif, dan metode pengumpulan datanya dilakukan secara triangulasi. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada siswa kelas VII salah satu SMP di Kabupaten Bandung dengan jumlah siswa 40 orang pada materi persamaan linear satu variabel (PLSV). Indikator berpikir kritis yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah interpretasi, analisis, evaluasi, penarikan kesimpulan, dan penjelasan. Berdasarkan hasil tes dan wawancara, setenganya siswa memiliki kemampuan literasi matematis dan berpikir kritis berada dalam kategori sedang. Berdasarkan data ini menjadi pertimbangan untuk mengkondisikan pembelajaran matematik yang menekankan kemampuan literasi dan berpikir kritis matematik yang diharapkan dapat membantu siswa menjadi, pembuat keputusan yang bijak, dan pemecah masalah yang efektif.

Abstract

In order to practice critical thinking skills, it is necessary to get used to practicing questions such as questions based on jumping tasks. The jumping task question is a question with a level of difficulty above the curriculum. In solving math problems based on jumping tasks, students often face obstacles. This study aims to describe the profile of students' critical thinking towards solving mathematical problems based on jumping tasks on circle material. The research was conducted at MTsN 2 Blitar with 2 students each having adversity quotient types of climber, camper, and quitter. The data collection technique used was an adversity response profile questionnaire, a jumping task-based math problem solving test and interviews. The research results obtained showed that at the stage of understanding the problem both climber, camper and quitter subjects were able to show interpretation after reading the questions. However, the quitter subject is less precise in interpreting important information from the problem. In the problem-solving planning stage, the plan presented by the climber subject was more appropriate than the plan presented by the camper subject, while the quitter subject was unable to develop a settlement plan and the work process stopped at this stage.

Abstract

This article is a quantitative study that seeks to ascertain the impact of the guided inquiry learning model on students' mathematical creative thinking skills in the context of limiting algebraic functions. The study was conducted at MAN 3 Blitar with research subjects from two level IX classes. Data derived from observations, documentation, and post-test questions. SPSS 24.0 was used to calculate the data, which was then compared to determine the correlation between the two samples. Based on expert validation results, the interactive multimedia developed is feasible with an average sigma percentage of 5%. Following research and observation, it is possible to conclude that the guided inquiry learning model has an effect on students' mathematical creative thinking skills. The guided inquiry learning model has a 62% influence on students' mathematical creative thinking skills.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low ability of students to think critically mathematically, which can be influenced by various factors. One of the causes that exist in students is the emotion and attitude towards mathematics. The many concepts that are abstract, full of numbers and full of formulas make most students think mathematics is a difficult and frightening subject. So that when faced with math lessons or math problems, students will feel anxious, afraid, restless, difficult to concentrate and avoid behavior, etc. These attitudes indicate that students experience math anxiety. This study aims to determine the effect of math anxiety and its magnitude on students' mathematical critical thinking skills. The research was conducted using a quantitative approach to the type of correlation research. The sampling technique used is probability sampling with simple random sampling. The results of the study showed that the level of mathematical anxiety in students was 58%, where mathematical anxiety had an effect on students' mathematical critical thinking skills marked by the significance value obtained, namely 0.000 <0.005 so reject H0.

Abstract

Kemampuan literasi matematis merupakan kemampuan seseorang untuk bernalar secara matematis dan untuk menerapkan, merumuskan, menafsirkan matematika di berbagai konteks dunia nyata. termasuk dalam prosedur, konsep, fakta, dan alat untuk mendeskripsikan, menjelaskan dan memprediksi fenomena. Ada 6 tingkatan level yang diperlukan oleh peserta didik dalam ketercapaian kemampuan literasi matematis. Tujuan penelitian untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan literasi matematis peserta didik dengan kognitif tinggi, sedang, maupun rendah berdasarkan ranah kognitif revisi Taksonomi Bloom dalam menyelesaikan soal bangun ruang sisi datar. Penelitian dilakukan dengan pendekatan kualitatif, lokasi penelitian berada di MTsN 1 Tulungagung dengan 5 peserta didik dari 32 peserta didik sebagai sampel. Metode pengumpulan data berupa, observasi, tes, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data meliputi reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa (1)Subyek M.A.Z.D dengan kognitif tinggi mampu mencapai tingkat kemampuan literasi matematis berada pada level 6, sedangkan subyek E.A.R dengan kognitif yang sama berada pada level 2. (2)Subyek A.A.M1 dengan kognitif sedang mampu mencapai tingkat kemampuan literasi matematis berada pada level 6, sedangkan subyek A.S.S dengan kognitif yang sama berada pada level 3. (3)Subyek V.R.T.P dengan kognitif rendah mampu mencapai tingkat kemampuan literasi matematis berada pada level 4.
