Abstract

Community service is organized by the Non-Governmental Organization Noorwangsanegara, located in Bogor, West Java, Indonesia. In the pre-service, it was found that there was a gap in understanding artificial intelligence which is now widely used both in the world of education and in the world of work where students, namely students, will later work. In addition, it is also a challenge for lecturers, especially in improving not only their understanding but also their competence in writing and publishing scientific articles in journals that have a reputation for improving performance in the world of higher education. The problem in this service is how to improve the competence of lecturers through the use of artificial intelligence in writing and reputable publications. The results of the service show that the tendency of participants does not understand the meaning and use of artificial intelligence that can be used in educational activities such as the use of tools that can facilitate work in the world of education. In addition, these tools can also be used in writing articles or disseminating articles through publication in reputable journals. Abstract

Research Aims: This study aims to examine the effect of entrepreneurial networks, entrepreneurial orientation, and entrepreneurial competence on the performance of online trading SMEs in Makassar City. It seeks to understand how these entrepreneurial factors contribute to SMEs’ success in the digital business environment.Design/Methodology/Approach: A quantitative approach was adopted using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). Data were collected through online questionnaires distributed to 150 SME owners operating in online trading in Makassar. The measurement model and structural model were assessed for validity, reliability, and hypothesis testing.Research Findings: The study found that all three variables — entrepreneurial networks, entrepreneurial orientation, and entrepreneurial competence — have a significant and positive influence on SME performance. Entrepreneurial orientation was the most dominant factor, followed by entrepreneurial competence and entrepreneurial networks. The model explained 83.4% of the variance in SME performance with high predictive relevance (Q² = 0.732).Theoretical Contribution/Originality: This research enriches the literature on entrepreneurial dynamics by empirically validating the interplay between entrepreneurial orientation, networks, and competence in the context of digital SMEs in emerging economies. It confirms the Resource-Based View (RBV) theory by showing how internal capabilities and external linkages enhance performance.Practitioners/Policy Implications: The findings provide practical guidance for SME owners to focus on building robust networks, enhancing managerial competencies, and fostering a proactive and innovative business mindset. For policymakers, the study highlights the need for support programs focusing on digital literacy, entrepreneurial training, and access to networking platforms.Research Limitations/Implications: This study is limited to online trading SMEs in Makassar City, which may affect the generalizability of findings to other regions or industries. Future research could explore longitudinal designs, incorporate moderating variables such as digital transformation or government support, and compare SMEs across multiple regions or sectors.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to examine how certain aspects of entrepreneurial marketing (EM) affect the success of MSMEs in the food service industry in Makassar City. Data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with Smart-PLS. The study approach included administering a questionnaire using a five-point Likert scale. One hundred sixty-seven culinary MSMEs were chosen at random for the study. From what we can see, EM has a significant and positive impact on the production, market, inventive, and financial performance of MSMEs in the culinary industry. The analysis's T-statistic and P-value demonstrate that EM boosts performance in producing (O=0.931, T=78.263, P=0.000), selling (O=0.897, T=52.661, P=0.000), coming up with new ideas (O=0.885, T=38.155, P=0.000), and managing money (O=0.622, T=10.792, P=0.000). To be clear, neither market performance nor innovation performance has a statistically significant impact on financial outcomes. Findings suggest that MSMEs in the culinary industry in Makassar City would fare better if they make good use of EM. For these micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) to thrive, they must be creative, aggressive, opportunistic, risk-taking, and focused on their customers. To further investigate the potential effects of EM activities on different performance metrics in culinary MSMEs, future studies should gather data from a broader range of locales. Furthermore, it is essential to study how big culinary enterprises use EM and to find out what techniques culinary MSMEs use that work.
