Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relevance of the Islamic Religious Education (PAI) curriculum to the socio-cultural dynamics developing in Indonesia. The PAI curriculum has a strategic role in shaping the character and morals of students, so it must be able to respond to social changes, culture, and religious values in society. This study used a qualitative approach with document analysis methods and in-depth interviews with education stakeholders, such as teachers, students, and education experts. The results showed that the PAI curriculum in Indonesia has tried to keep up with socio-cultural developments, but there are still some challenges in its implementation. These challenges include the gap between teaching materials and community needs, lack of teacher training in dealing with contemporary issues, and resistance to curriculum innovation. This study suggests the need to strengthen the integration of local and global values in the PAI curriculum, the active involvement of the community in curriculum formulation, and the improvement of teacher competence to be able to teach PAI contextually and relevant to Indonesia's socio-cultural conditions. Thus, PAI curriculum can be more adaptive and contributive in facing the challenges of globalization and multiculturalism.

Abstract

The development of children's character is a fundamental aspect in shaping a morally upright and high-quality generation. The family, particularly the role of housewives, serves as the primary and most influential environment in instilling character values from an early age. This study aims to explore the role of housewives in nurturing children's character values in the community of Suka Makmur Village, Binjai. It also seeks to identify the types of values taught, the methods applied, and the challenges faced by these mothers. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation involving local housewives. The findings indicate that mothers play a significant role in cultivating values such as honesty, responsibility, discipline, and politeness through role modeling, daily habituation, and emotional communication. Mothers' consistent behaviors, such as being honest and responsible in daily life, provide a practical example for children. Establishing structured routines contributes to the formation of discipline, while affectionate and respectful communication fosters politeness. These findings align with several educational theories including Bandura’s social learning theory, Vygotsky’s constructivism, and Lickona’s character education. In conclusion, housewives act not only as caregivers but also as primary educators in shaping children’s personalities. Therefore, collaborative support is necessary to strengthen the role of mothers in family-based character education.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji pengaruh kegiatan ekstrakurikuler pramuka terhadap sikap gotong royong siswa di MTs Citra Amanah Sei Glugur Pancur Batu. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan instrumen skala Likert yang telah melalui uji validitas dan reliabilitas. Uji validitas menggunakan korelasi Pearson menunjukkan bahwa seluruh item instrumen valid, dengan nilai r hitung lebih besar dari r tabel. Uji reliabilitas menggunakan koefisien alpha Cronbach menghasilkan nilai 0.732 untuk variabel kegiatan pramuka dan 0.967 untuk variabel gotong royong, keduanya lebih besar dari ambang batas 0.6. Uji normalitas menggunakan metode Kolmogorov-Smirnov menunjukkan bahwa data berdistribusi normal. Uji t menunjukkan nilai t hitung 4.567, lebih besar dari t tabel 1.984, dengan signifikansi 0.001, yang berarti terdapat pengaruh signifikan antara kegiatan pramuka dan sikap gotong royong siswa. Hasil penelitian ini mengindikasikan bahwa kegiatan pramuka berperan penting dalam membangun nilai-nilai gotong royong, yang mencakup kerja sama, tanggung jawab, dan kepedulian sosial. Kegiatan seperti perkemahan dan kerja bakti membantu siswa memahami pentingnya solidaritas dan kolaborasi dalam kehidupan sosial. Temuan ini menyarankan bahwa pengembangan kegiatan pramuka di sekolah dapat meningkatkan karakter positif siswa dan mendukung pembentukan sikap gotong royong yang kuat.
