Abstract

One of the levels of education in Indonesia is Vocational High School (SMK), whose graduates are expected to be ready to work, especially to create job opportunities according to their vocational skills. Currently, a realistic step that graduates can take is to start a business by leveraging digital technology. Digital business is a transformation toward more efficient business practices. This activity aims to educate students about the role of digital business, design, and technology in entrepreneurship. The partners in this activity are students of SMK BBC Medan. The method used is Community Education as a substitution for science and technology. The material is delivered through lectures with the assistance of PowerPoint. The Community Service Program (PKM) activities include observation, implementation, documentation, and evaluation. The results of the PKM activity observation show that the students have an interest in starting a digital business. This is evident from the enthusiasm and curiosity of the students there.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilaksanakan untuk meningkatkan kapasitas tenaga kerja proyek konstruksi dalam memahami dan menerapkan prinsip pembangunan berkelanjutan dan efisiensi energi. Kegiatan dilaksanakan di proyek pembangunan Gedung Pengadilan Tinggi Tata Usaha Negara (PTTUN) Medan, dengan sasaran 56 orang pekerja yang terlibat langsung dalam pekerjaan struktur dan sistem MEP. Metode yang digunakan meliputi edukasi lapangan melalui presentasi, diskusi, demonstrasi teknis, pemasangan media visual, serta evaluasi observatif. Materi edukasi mencakup efisiensi energi, pengelolaan limbah konstruksi berbasis prinsip Reduce, Reuse, Recycle (3R), serta keselamatan dan kesehatan kerja (K3). Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan terjadinya perubahan signifikan pada perilaku kerja, seperti pencatatan volume beton yang akurat, rotasi penggunaan alat berat, pemilahan limbah untuk digunakan kembali, dan peningkatan kepatuhan terhadap prosedur kerja melalui SOP visual. Lingkungan kerja menjadi lebih bersih, tertib, dan aman dengan penurunan insiden kerja ringan. Model edukasi ini terbukti efektif dalam mendukung pencapaian standar green construction dan berpotensi direplikasi pada proyek serupa secara luas.

Abstract

Electric Vehicles (EV) are an important pathway for decarbonizing transportation and a form of renewable energy as an environmentally friendly technology to accelerate sustainable development. This is in line with the Indonesian government's target in the Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) document of reducing emissions by 31.89% in 2030. This paper aims to find out the government policies in accelerating the use of EV in Indonesia, especially in the city of Medan. Semi-structured interviews were done supported by voice note recordings, data collection, and observations of informants who were directly involved in the social conditions studied, that were those from four EV dealers in Medan City and additional informants, who were consumers who already use EV and the community, who have not used an electric vehicle, but know about the existence of the electric vehicle. The result the current policy has resulted in an increase in sales of 50% -60% and the use of EV in the city of Medan by 30%. Policies such as exemption from toll fees, parking in public places, and parking spaces that are easily accessible for electric vehicle drivers are needed. Apart from that, certainty is also needed regarding the policy on entry fees and EV impor taxes, which will affect EV production, especially pricing and variation. In conclusion, the policy cannot stand alone but is supported by a 4P marketing mix strategy (price, product, place, and promotion).Keywords: Electric Vehicle (EV), Marketing Strategy, Policy Incentive, Policy Option

Abstract

The environmental impact of plastic waste is extremely significant. Because plastic can take centuries to break down, it poses serious risks to wildlife, harms marine habitats, and can negatively affect human health. Growing global concern about this issue has encouraged people to switch to more ecofriendly products, while also creating opportunities for businesses to adapt their strategies to be more sustainable. This study employs a descriptive approach to examine the behavior of individuals using tumblers as eco-friendly products especially Gen Z , utilizing cross-tabulation techniques with SPSS software. The objective is to analyze the relationship between respondent profiles and their eco-friendly product usage. Data and descriptions regarding tumbler users in Medan City provide valuable insights for companies in the green entrepreneurship sector. The findings indicate that potential green consumers are predominantly female, aged 17-20, and currently students. Their primary motivation for choosing stainless steel tumblers is economic and practical considerations, followed by environmental awareness. These results offer a reference for green companies in the design and development of eco-friendly products and green marketing in particular.

Abstract

Program Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat dilaksanakan di Desa Serdang, Kecamatan Barus Jahe, Kabupaten Karo, dengan fokus pada penguatan kemasan produk obat tradisional berbasis herbal. Masyarakat Desa Serdang, yang tergabung dalam Kelompok Tani Hutan Konservasi (KTHK), memiliki tradisi panjang dalam memproduksi obat tradisional seperti minyak urut (Alun), Sembur, Tawar, dan Kuning. Namun, produk tersebut belum memiliki kemasan yang layak sehingga identitas serta kebersihan belum menjamin dan kurang mendukung daya saing pasar.   Metode pelaksanaan menggunakan pendekatan perancangan dan edukasi melalui tahapan identifikasi kebutuhan, perancangan kemasan serta branding visual, sosialisasi hasil desain kemasan serta evaluasi. Kegiatan dilakukan melalui survei awal, diskusi kelompok terfokus (Focus Group Discussion), serta demonstrasi praktik langsung pemasangan logo dan stiker pada kemasan.   Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya kemasan baru yang akan digunakan serta pemahaman masyarakat mengenai pentingnya kemasan yang baik dalam membangun identitas produk, memperkuat kepercayaan konsumen, dan menambah nilai jual.   Perancangan logo, label kemasan, dan media promosi (spanduk) disesuaikan dengan penggunaan bahan-bahan alami serta letak geografis Desa Serdang sehingga mampu mencerminkan identitas produk herbal Desa Serdang. Program ini membuktikan bahwa penguatan branding visual berbasis partisipasi masyarakat efektif dalam mendukung keberlanjutan usaha lokal.
