Abstract

Islamic Religious Education (IRE) contributes to the realization of quality education in line with the Sustainable Development Goals. Optimizing the learning of prospective IRE teachers is crucial in producing superior human resources to create inclusive characters in the 21st century. This study aims to analyze the implementation of Project-Based Learning (PjBL) based on local wisdom on the critical thinking abilities of prospective IRE teachers. A triangulation mixed-method research design was used with the integration of quantitative and qualitative data to obtain comprehensive research results. The research subjects were students of the IRE study program at UIN Sultan Syarif Kasim Riau. Data collection was carried out through critical thinking ability tests and interviews of students' learning experiences. Data analysis techniques used descriptive and inferential statistical methods with the help of SPSS software to analyze quantitative data. Qualitative data analysis used the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, consisting of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed a significant difference in the average critical thinking abilities of students between the experimental and control classes (p<0.00). The application of PjBL-based local wisdom in Islamic religious learning can improve students' critical thinking abilities. The integration of Riau Malay local culture in learning shows a positive response and becomes a learning innovation for prospective IRE teachers.

Abstract

Moderasi beragama dalam pendidikan Islam muncul sebagai strategi mendukung Tujuan Pembangunan Berkelanjutan (SDGs), khususnya SDG 4 (pendidikan berkualitas), SDG 10 (pengurangan ketimpangan), dan SDG 16 (perdamaian dan keadilan). Di tengah tantangan global ekstremisme dan konflik sosial, penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis bagaimana empat pilar moderasi—toleransi, nasionalisme, anti-kekerasan, dan akomodasi budaya—diintegrasikan ke kurikulum Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI) untuk memajukan pembangunan berkelanjutan. Menggunakan metode library research kualitatif, data dikumpul secara sistematis dari jurnal terkini (2021-2026), kebijakan Kemenag, dan laporan PBB, dianalisis dengan model interaktif Miles dan Huberman. Hasil menunjukkan kurikulum PAI moderat efektif membentuk karakter inklusif siswa, mengurangi intoleransi di sekolah, serta selaras dengan target keberlanjutan global. Strategi implementasi seperti pembelajaran berbasis proyek dan modul digital memposisikan pendidikan Islam Indonesia sebagai model harmoni global. Saran mencakup kebijakan nasional wajib dan kolaborasi internasional.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the strategies employed by Islamic Religious Education (IRE) teachers in addressing digital disruption in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. The study employs a qualitative approach using library research, drawing on scientific journals, books, and relevant documents from 2020 to 2025. Data collection was conducted through documentary analysis, while data analysis utilized content analysis, following the stages of reduction, presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results indicate that the primary strategies PAI teachers can implement include strengthening digital competencies, applying the TPACK model, utilizing blended learning, innovating digital learning media, and enhancing digital literacy grounded in Islamic values. Furthermore, collaboration among teachers, schools, and parents serves as a supporting factor in creating a conducive digital learning environment. The study’s conclusion emphasizes that digital disruption is not merely a challenge but also an opportunity to enhance the quality of Islamic Education (PAI) in an adaptive and innovative manner, while remaining grounded in Islamic values.

Abstract

The digital age and the phenomenon of post-truth have created new challenges for Islamic education, where it is becoming increasingly difficult to control the distortion of religious narratives and social polarization in cyberspace. The crisis of religious authority and the spread of misinformation demand a new paradigm in the educational system. This study aims to analyze the relevance of religious moderation as a new basis for Islamic education in order to combat strategies of social segregation in an era of disruption. The research method used is a qualitative documentary study, with critical analysis of various academic publications, government policies, and contemporary social phenomena. The results indicate that strengthening religious moderation as an educational paradigm requires three main teaching strategies. First, integrating the values ​​of wasatiyah (religious authority) through positive learning methodologies and active dialogue to develop students' critical thinking against extremist narratives. Second, introducing digital literacy based on prophetic values ​​and the ethics of Islamic communication (qalamun ma’rufan) as a filter for information on social networks. Third, to strengthen an inclusive educational ecosystem through collaboration between educational institutions, families, and communities. This study concludes that establishing religious moderation as a new paradigm is not only a preventive measure but also an important pedagogical transformation for creating a tolerant and digitally literate society capable of maintaining national stability amidst the complexities of the post-truth era.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of digital technology has significantly transformed students’ patterns of social interaction, particularly in their engagement with digital media. Within the context of an increasingly instant global culture, various issues related to digital ethics, such as the spread of misinformation, cyberbullying, and impolite communication, are becoming more prevalent among students. This study aims to examine the role of internalizing Islamic educational values in shaping students’ digital ethics in response to these digital cultural challenges. The research employs a qualitative approach using library research by analyzing a range of literature sources, including books, scholarly journal articles, and previous studies relevant to Islamic education, digital ethics, and student character development. The collected data were examined through descriptive analysis to explore the relationship between Islamic educational values and students’ ethical behavior in digital environments. The findings indicate that Islamic values such as honesty, responsibility, politeness, and the principle of tabayyun play a significant role in fostering students’ awareness of digital ethics. Therefore, the internalization of Islamic educational values can serve as a strategic approach to developing a generation that not only possesses strong digital literacy but also demonstrates moral integrity in using technology in a responsible and ethical manne

Abstract

The development of digital technology has brought significant changes to various aspects of life, including the Islamic education system. These changes have created new challenges for Islamic educational institutions in maintaining a balance between the traditional values that characterize Islamic education and the demands of modernization and digitization of education. This article aims to analyze the phenomenon of identity crisis in Islamic educational institutions in the digital era and examine various strategies that can be implemented to maintain the identity of Islamic education amid technological developments. This study uses a qualitative approach with library research, namely by analyzing various scientific literature such as books, journals, and research results relevant to the topic of study. The results show that the identity crisis of Islamic educational institutions arises from the tension between efforts to maintain the traditional values of Islamic education and the demands of modernization of education based on digital technology. In addition, digitization also brings various challenges such as low digital literacy, limited human resources, and the potential for a shift in moral and spiritual values in the educational process. Therefore, Islamic educational institutions need to develop integrative strategies through strengthening the Islamic values-based curriculum, improving teacher competence in teaching, and enhancing the role of religious leaders in shaping the educational process.
