Abstract

Tihu Village is one of the villages located in the coastal area of Tomini Bay. Administratively, this village is included in the Bonepantai District, Bone Bolango Regency, Gorontalo Province. This bay has the potential of coastal and marine resources, especially fishery resources. This potential can certainly be used to improve the welfare or economy of the community in the present and in the future. The purpose of this research is to formulate a strategy for developing Tihu beach tourism. The analysis to determine the strategy of developing Tihu beach tourism uses 2 (two) data analyzes, namely descriptive analysis, and AHP (Analytical Hierarchy Process). Based on the results of the study, the main priority is the socio-cultural factor with a value of 0.426, the second priority is the economic factor with a value of 0.414, the third priority is the accommodation factor with a value of 0.110, and the last priority is the safety factor with a value of 0.056.

Abstract

Octopus fishermen are communities whose livelihoods rely on octopus catches. In the Bajo Tribe of Pohuwato Regency, many fishermen depend on this activity as their primary source of income. This study aims to analyze the economic benefits obtained from octopus fishing among the Bajo Tribe in Pohuwato Regency. The research was conducted in Torosiaje Village, Popayato District, Pohuwato Regency, over a period of three months, from June to Agustus 2025. This study employed field research with a quantitative approach. Data were analyzed using descriptive qualitative and quantitative methods, presented in tables and figures, and then discussed in accordance with the research objectives before drawing conclusions. The results show that the total monthly operational cost of octopus fishing is IDR 17,700,000, with an average of IDR 804,545. The total monthly income of octopus fishermen in the Bajo Tribe is IDR 98,560,000, with an average income of IDR 4,480,000. The total monthly profit amounts to IDR 80,860,000, with an average profit of IDR 3,675,454. ABSTRAK Nelayan gurita merupakan kelompok masyarakat yang menggantungkan hidupnya pada hasil tangkapan gurita. Pada Suku Bajo di Kabupaten Pohuwato terdapat nelayan yang menggantungkan hidupnya terhadap hasil tangkapan gurita. Studi ini dirancang untuk menganalisis tingkat profitabilitas yang diperoleh dari aktivitas penangkapan gurita oleh nelayan Suku Bajo di Kabupaten Pohuwato. Pengambilan data primer untuk penelitian ini dipusatkan di Desa Torosiaje, Kecamatan Popayato, Kabupaten Pohuwato. Pelaksanaan riset ini dijadwalkan berlangsung selama tiga bulan, mencakup periode Juni hingga Agustus 2025. Metodologi yang diaplikasikan adalah field research (penelitian lapangan) dengan menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif. Data yang terkumpul dianalisis melalui teknik deskriptif kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Hasil analisis tersebut kemudian divisualisasikan dalam bentuk tabel serta gambar, yang selanjutnya dibahas dengan merujuk pada data dan fakta empiris di lapangan guna mencapai tujuan penelitian dan merumuskan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan biaya total operasional penangkapan gurita perbulan yaitu Rp. 17.700.000 dengan rata-rata perbulan sebesar Rp. 804.545, pendapatan nelayan gurita pada Suku Bajo Kabupaten Pohuwato sebesar Rp. 98.560.000, dan untuk pendapatan rata-rata nelayan gurita sebesar Rp. 4.480.000 dan total keuntungan perbulan bagi nelayan gurita pada Suku Bajo Kabupaten Pohuwato sebesar Rp. 80.860.000, dan nilai rata-rata sebesar Rp. 3.675.454.
