Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate early childhood character development in Klasis Flores by implementing the Pancasila Student Profile, particularly in the post-pandemic period, which prompted a shift to technology-based learning. Using a descriptive quantitative method, we collected the data through surveys, observation, interviews, and documentation. The outcomes show that kids are independent, believing, and ethical yet, at the same time, inadequate in imagination, worldwide mindfulness, tolerance, and innovation. Unsurprisingly, progress was uneven, demonstrating the need for further guidance from teachers. These findings underscore the essential character-building approach to address challenges in distance learning in rural areas.

Article should be Children often perceive activities like playing, singing, and listening to stories as simple, monotonous, and meaningless in early childhood education. Teachers can make learning meaningful by using enjoyable learning media, one of which is Loose Part media. Loose Parts is a medium that is currently popular among teachers, but sometimes teachers do not fully understand the characteristics, types, benefits, usage or application, challenges or obstacles faced, and solutions to the challenges or obstacles encountered when using Loose Parts. The research shows that teachers at TK Negeri Matawai Amahu have used Loose Parts in their lessons by using what they had on hand and thinking about things like the child's age, the benefits, the goals, the right way to use or apply the Loose Parts, and how the child is developing. The challenges encountered by teachers during the use of Loose Parts were more about how to select and prepare Loose Parts that meet the children's needs. The teachers can effectively address the challenges encountered in using Loose Parts. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that the teachers at TK Negeri Matawai Amahu have a very good understanding of the use of Loose Parts

Abstract

This community service activity aims to disseminate and help develop the operational curriculum for early childhood education teachers in Klasis Amanuban Selatan. The community service implementation team from IAKN Kupang carries out this socialization and mentoring activity to address the need for more understanding among PAUD teachers regarding the new Merdeka Curriculum. The training will also enhance the teachers' ability to create effective teaching materials that align with the curriculum, thereby improving the quality of early childhood education. The expected outcomes include the development of operational curriculum tools, the publication of an article, and enhanced educational practices in the targeted area. This community service activity also serves as a platform for creating an environment where teachers can exchange knowledge and experiences, ultimately leading to better educational outcomes for children. Through this initiative, PAUD teachers will be better equipped to implement the Merdeka Curriculum, thus contributing to the enhancement of early childhood education standards in Southern Amanuban.
