Abstract

Santri are a group of people who live in Islamic boarding schools to learn the Koran. In the contemporary era, students can develop themselves by studying various sciences, including the world of writing. However, the reality shows that students at the Taqwimul Ummah Islamic Boarding School are involved in learning to write and only recite the Koran. The aim of this training is to equip students to have writing skills. This event presents trainers who are competent in essay writing. The activity is carried out in the form of a briefing and is immediately followed by essay writing practice. The provision consists of delivering material that introduces essay writing, the structure of essay writing, and the steps for writing an essay. Then the students receive an assignment to write an essay, which is submitted. Essay writing from students selected from the best works to be awarded.

Abstract

School-aged children are susceptible to negative influences and moral degradation due to a lack of religious understanding and moral values. Education must not only focus on academics but also instill Islamic values as a guide for life. This study aims to examine the implementation of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) values in the moral development of students at MA Darullughah Waddawah Pasuruan. This research used a qualitative approach with interviews, observation, and documentation methods. The results show that the PAI learning plan at MA Darullughah Waddawah integrates character values through the 2013 Curriculum, and values are instilled through five main methods: contextual modeling, value-based project learning, integrated spiritual habituation, experience-based reflective dialogue, and individual spiritual counseling. The success of these methods is evident in the students’ behavioral changes, as they act consistently according to Islamic values without external supervision. The findings also emphasize the importance of collaboration between the school, family, and community. This study contributes by providing a practical model for effective PAI value internalization in madrasahs with unique socio-cultural characteristics.

Abstract

Program pengabdian ini bertujuan memperkuat karakter Islami santri melalui kegiatan tausiyah pekanan di Pesantren Al Hikmah Darul Ulum, Seremban, Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia. Latar belakang kegiatan ini berangkat dari fenomena melemahnya penghargaan terhadap guru, ilmu, dan tradisi pesantren, yang berimplikasi pada berkurangnya kualitas pendidikan karakter Islami. Subjek pengabdian adalah 40 santri tingkat menengah dengan pendampingan 5 ustadz pembimbing. Metode pengabdian menggunakan pendekatan partisipatif dengan melibatkan ustadz dan santri secara aktif dalam perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi kegiatan. Instrumen pengumpulan data meliputi lembar observasi perilaku santri, pedoman wawancara singkat, serta dokumentasi kegiatan. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan kesadaran santri mengenai pentingnya adab sebelum ilmu, yang tampak pada sikap hormat terhadap guru, meningkatnya disiplin belajar, dan interaksi sosial yang lebih positif. Program tausiyah juga memperkuat identitas pesantren sebagai pusat pembinaan moral-spiritual, meskipun masih terdapat keterbatasan berupa durasi program yang singkat dan metode ceramah yang relatif dominan. Dengan demikian, program tausiyah pekanan dapat menjadi model alternatif yang aplikatif dalam penguatan pendidikan karakter Islami di pesantren lintas negara.
