Abstract

Abstrak Mental atlet diyakini sebagai dimensi yang sangat menentukan prestasi atlet di lapangan. Namun sayangnya, belum banyak yang memahami bagaimana cara mengukur mental atlet. Oleh karena itu, tujuan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah untuk memberikan edukasi dan pelatihan tentang cara mengukur mental toughness pada guru olahraga di Jayapura. Kegiatan pengabdian ini dilaksanakan melalui empat tahapan, yaitu: edukasi, pelatihan, pendampingan, dan evaluasi. Sebanyak 21 guru olahraga mengikuti kegiatan ini. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa sebanyak 90.5% menjawab tidak mengetahui instrumen terstandar dalam mengungkap mental atlet dan hanya 9.5% yang menjawab mengetahui. Melalui kegiatan ini, guru olahraga di kota Jayapura mengetahui beberapa instrumen terstandar dalam mengungkap mental toughness pada atlet. Selain itu, guru olahraga juga melakukan pengukuran aspek mental toughness pada atletnya dengan baik. Kata kunci: instrument mental atlet; mental toughness; guru olahraga. Abstract An athlete's mentality is believed to be a dimension that determines an athlete's performance on the field. But unfortunately, not many people understand how to measure an athlete's mentality. Therefore, this community service activity aims to provide education and training on how to measure mental toughness in physical education teachers in Jayapura. This service activity is carried out through four stages, namely: education, training, mentoring, and evaluation. A total of 21 physical education teachers participated in this activity. The results of the activity showed that as many as 90.5% answered that they did not know about standardized instruments for revealing athletes' mental health and only 9.5% answered that they knew. Through this activity, physical education teachers in the city of Jayapura learned about several standardized instruments for revealing mental toughness in athletes. Apart from that, the teachers also measured aspects of mental toughness in their athletes well. Keywords: athlete's mental instrument; mental toughness; physical education teacher.

Abstract

Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat (PkM) ini adalah untuk mengedukasi pentingnya menulis dan cara menulis yang mudah pada guru olahraga di MGMP PJOK SMP Kota Jayapura. Kegiatan pengabdian ini dilaksanakan melalui empat tahapan, yaitu: persiapan, pendidikan atau pelatihan, penguatan, dan evaluasi. Hasil kegiatan PkM menunjukkan sebanyak 21 guru olahraga tingkat SMP di Kota Jayapura, Papua, mengikuti kegiatan tersebut. Sebanyak 80.95% atau 17 orang adalah guru olahraga laki-laki sedangkan 19.05% atau 4 orang adalah guru perempuan. Secara usia, rata-rata usia peserta PkM adalah 34.57 ± 10.62 tahun dengan usia guru yang termuda adalah 23 tahun sedangkan yang senior 57 tahun. Berdasarkan pengalaman, tampak bahwa rata-rata peserta memiliki pengalaman mengajar selama 8.95 tahun dan bahkan terdapat yang sudah mengajar 29 tahun. Sebanyak 85.71% peserta PkM menyatakan belum pernah menulis artikel dan sebanyak 90.48% belum pernah menulis buku. Sebanyak 90.5% peserta menyebutkan belum pernah menggunakan aplikasi references tools. Sebanyak 85% peserta dapat memahami dengan baik materi penulisan yang diberikan dan peserta sangat tertarik untuk membuat tulisan bertema olahraga pendidikan, olahraga rekreasi, serta olahraga prestasi.

Abstract

Background. Achievement motivation plays a crucial role in the performance of martial arts athletes and should be closely monitored and assessed by coaches. However, the absence of a specific instrument to measure achievement motivation in Setia Hati Terate athletes has made it difficult for coaches to evaluate their athletes"™ motivational levels effectively. Objectives. This study is part of a broader evaluation aimed at testing the validity and reliability of an achievement motivation questionnaire specifically designed for adult Pencak Silat practitioners. Methods. The study involved 162 participants, comprising 79 male and 83 female martial artists. A research instrument is a tool used to gather data in order to address research problems or meet study objectives. If the collected data are not accurate (i.e., valid), any conclusions or decisions based on them will also be flawed. In this study, a closed-ended questionnaire consisting of 14 items was used. Data analysis was conducted using Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA). CFA conclusions are drawn based on various fit indices, including chi-square (χ ²), degrees of freedom (df), Comparative Fit Index (CFI), Tucker-Lewis Index (TLI), Goodness-of-Fit Index (GFI), Standardized Root Mean Residual (SRMR), Root Mean Square Error of Approximation (RMSEA), factor loading (λ), Average Variance Extracted (AVE), and Cronbach's alpha. Results. According to the fit indices shown, the chi-square test yielded a p-value < 0.001, indicating a significant relationship between the factors. These indicators confirm the model"™s good fit. Further analysis of factor loadings and reliability metrics indicates that the instrument is both valid and reliable, supporting its use in assessing achievement motivation among adult martial arts practitioners. Conclusion. Achievement motivation is essential for martial artists striving to reach their full potential. Therefore, evaluating motivation levels should be an integral part of every stage in the training program, using instruments that are both valid and reliable. This study serves as a foundation for the ongoing development of assessment tools in the martial arts field.
