Abstract

Abstract: Tourism is the primary sector of Wakatobi. This research aims to reveal the process of spatial formation of Wakatobi tourism space. The study was designed to use a qualitative method with a case study approach. The results of the research show that Wakatobi tourism space production process started the involvement of the public and the private sector in tourism management, the spatial policy of the determination of Wakatobi as a tourism area, and people that perceived their territory as a tourism space.Abstrak: Pariwisata adalah sektor utama Wakatobi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkapkan proses spasial terbentuknya ruang pariwisata Wakatobi. Penelitian dirancang menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan proses produksi ruang pariwisata Wakatobi dimulai dari keterlibatan masyarakat dan swasta dalam pengelolaan pariwisata, kebijakan spasial penetapan Wakatobi sebagai kawasan pariwisata dan pemikiran masyarakat yang memersepsikan wilayahnya sebagai ruang pariwisata.

Abstract

Masifnya pengembangan industri pariwisata dapat berpengaruh terhadap kerusakan lingkungan. Namun, Suku Tengger yang berada di Desa Ngadisari mampu meningkatkan perekonomian melalui kegiatan pariwisata dan tetap dapat melindungi lingkungannya agar tetap lestari. Studi ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan alasan mengapa kedua keadaan tersebut dapat terwujud. Studi ini dirancang secara kualitatif dengan menggunakan metode wawancara dan kajian kepustakaan. Hasil Studi menunjukkan keterlibatan Suku Tengger Desa Ngadisari dalam konservasi lingkungan didasari oleh pemahaman bahwa kehidupan yang baik adalah kehidupan yang harmoni antara manusia, alam dan tuhan. Kesadaran lingkungan ini diperoleh secara non formal melalui pewarisan nilai dalam kegiatan upacara adat-keagamaan yang konsisten dilaksanakan. Peningkatan kesejahteraan Suku Tengger melalui pariwisata hanyalah salah satu dampak positif dari penerapan nilai keselarasan hidup. Kata Kunci: Kesadaran Lingkungan, Suku Tengger, Ruang Hidup, Konservasi Lingkungan, Ekowisata DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpg.v11.i1.27017

Abstract

Painted terrapin is a rare species of animal facing extinction. Tourism management based on ecotourism has been implemented to preserve the painted terrapin and improve the local community's economy. Painted terrapin tourism holds the potential as a learning resource, but there is a lack of research on this subject. This research aims to analyze the relevance of painted terrapin tourism as a learning resource for ecotourism. The research was designed using a qualitative method. Data collection techniques included interviews, observations, and literature reviews. Data analysis techniques involved stages of data reduction, data presentation, and data verification. The results of the analysis were presented descriptively, which included reviews of the potential of painted terrapin tourism and its relevance as an ecotourism learning resource. The results indicate that painted terrapin tourism is relevant as a learning resource for ecotourism. This is because the tourism potential, involving observation and educational activities related to the painted terrapin's conditions and ecotourism-based tourism management, aligns with learning objectives. It can effectively support the achievement of learning goals and can be integrated into the educational process.

Abstract

The history of the Pelintau Pencak Silat tradition is not widely known by the young generation, especially school students. This research aims to explore the history and development of Pencak Silat Pelintau and its relevance as a source of learning local history. This research uses historical methods with a qualitative approach: research steps, namely heuristics, verification, interpretation, and historiography. The research results show that Pencak Silat Pelintau is an integral part of the history and culture of the Tamiang people, which not only functions as a martial art but also reflects strong historical values. As a cultural heritage recognized as Indonesia’s Intangible Cultural Heritage (WBTB), this tradition is closely related to the Tamiang people’s struggle against colonialism. Therefore, its use in learning local history becomes relevant in helping students understand the nation's history through a regional cultural perspective. The integration of Pencak Silat Pelintau in the curriculum can be done by preparing teaching modules based on local culture and applying experience-based learning methods, such as direct observation, interviews with cultural actors, and analysis of historical documents. With an innovative and contextual approach, Pencak Silat Pelintau can be an effective, engaging and meaningful learning medium for the younger generation to understand the history, culture and heroic values ​​inherited from their ancestors.
