Abstract

Non-communicable diseases (NCDs) are chronic diseases and are not transmitted from person to person. The prevalence of NCDs continues to increase along with changes in people's lifestyles in an unbalanced direction. Based on WHO data in 2017, NCDs are one of the causes of the most deaths, which is 69.9% of the total disease burden in Indonesia. The importance of routine health checks is a preventive step in detecting health problems early and maintaining the quality of life in the community. The purpose of this activity is to conduct public health checks in an effort to increase public awareness of the early detection of non-communicable diseases in the people of Ampalu village, Pariaman City. NCD risk control can be applied with CERDIK behavior, namely periodic health checks, eliminating cigarette smoke, diligent physical activity, a healthy diet with balanced calories, adequate rest, and stress control. This behavior is a healthy behavior that is easy to remember and apply in daily life so that we can maintain body health, improve fitness, and enjoy old age without the burden of disease The method of activities carried out is in the form of discussions and direct practice of health checks for blood pressure, cholesterol, blood glucose, uric acid and calculation of the Body Mass Index (BMI). This community service is carried out by nursing lecturers at the Padang State University Clinic in Pariaman. The overall health examination results were quite good with the average normal examination results.

Abstract

Healthy exercise is one of the physical activities that can provide great benefits for the physical and mental health of the community. Community service program carried out by nursing lecturers in Ampalu, Pariaman. The purpose of this activity is to increase public awareness of the importance of regular physical activity and a healthy lifestyle. The method of community service activities is to offer physical benefits and improve the quality of life through healthy exercise, functioning as a means to strengthen social relations in the community. The results of Community Service show that participants who have not carried out exercise, many of their quality of life is not good as many as 23 people (76.7%), after carrying out exercise, the quality of life of participants became good as many as 27 people (90%). Of course, this Community service is important for the development of social skills and the ability to work in a team. Through Community participation in exercise, participants can learn about the importance of keeping the body active and healthy, which can form healthy habits into adulthood. By routinely participating in healthy exercise, participants can enjoy various benefits that support their growth and development holistically. This article will review the implementation of healthy exercise in Ampalu, the benefits obtained by the community, the challenges faced, and recommendations for the continuation of this program. Through this program, it is hoped that the public will be more aware of the importance of maintaining their physical health and quality of life through regular exercise.
