Abstract

Abstract: Balanced nutrition education in adolescents is a preventive effort to overcome various diseases related to unhealthy diets. Adolescents need optimal nutrition that can improve their health and activity because adolescents are still in a stage of rapid growth and development. According to the results of the 2023 Indonesian Health Survey data, the number of adolescents aged 13-15 years who are overweight has increased to 16.2% where previously 16% in 2018, while adolescents aged 13-15 years who are obese by 11.2% in 2018 increased to 12.1% in 2023. The purpose of this community service is to provide education to increase adolescents' knowledge about balanced nutrition, foods that can and should not be eaten, and healthy lifestyles. The method used in the implementation of this community service is to provide counseling through interactive lectures by providing leaflets containing balanced nutrition materials to adolescents at SMPN 4 VII Koto Sungai Sarik, Padang Pariaman Regency. The target of this activity is 25 students in grade VII. Students can participate in activities from the beginning to the end of the activity and an evaluation is carried out at the end of the activity. Students are enthusiastic about the activities carried out and it is hoped that students can apply the knowledge they have gained and share information with friends and others so that teenagers can live healthy and can live well. Keywords: education;balanced nutrition;adolescents.

Abstract

Abstract: The importance of routine health checks is an important preventive step in early detection of health problems and maintaining the quality of life of the community. Hypertension is still a public health problem including in Ampalu. An unhealthy lifestyle is a dominant factor in the triggering of hypertension. Therefore, this community service is carried out with the aim of educating the community about a healthy lifestyle and regular blood pressure checks to avoid hypertension. The method used in community service has three stages, namely the stage of finding priority problems and deciding on solutions to problems. The second stage with intervention and the final stage with evaluation of the intervention. It is hoped that residents will understand and know more about hypertension from its definition to its prevention. A healthy lifestyle needs to be encouraged and promoted through various means, so that the community can avoid hypertension. Keywords: Hypertension, Education, Lifestyle, and Self-Management

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus (DM) is now growing into a global health problem. The International Diabetes Federation (IDF) shows that the prevalence of DM in the world is estimated to increase from 536,6 million cases (10,5%) in 2021 to 783,2 million (12,2%) in 2045. The number of DM cases in Pariaman City in 2021 was 978, with the highest number at the Pariaman Health Center (201 cases). Of the 22 villages in the Pariaman Health Center work area, the highest number of DM cases was obtained in Kampung Baru village (36 cases). The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of diabetes self-management education (DSME) on increasing the knowledge of people with type 2 diabetes mellitus in the work area of the Pariaman Health Center, Pariaman City, in 2022. This study is a quasi-experimental research with a one-group pretest and posttest design. The sampling technique was a total sampling of 36 respondents. The research was conducted in Kampung Baru village, the working area of the Pariaman Health Center, from June 27 to August 6, 2022. Data collection tools are carried out using questionnaires and computerized data processing. The results of the study showed that there was an increase in respondents' knowledge after being given the DSME intervention, from 61.1% to 86.1%. In addition, it was also found that there was an effect of DSME intervention on increasing knowledge in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus in the Pariaman City Health Center Working Area in 2022 (p-value = 0.000 < 0.05). It is hoped that people with diabetes mellitus will know how to manage their diabetes mellitus care so that their sugar levels can return to normal and stable.

Abstract

Breakfast is the most important thing for school children in during growth and development. Breakfast habits in the morning can affect students' health, impacting their attendance at school and academic achievement. This study aims to determine the relationship between breakfast habits and student learning achievement. This descriptive study uses a cross-sectional approach in grade VII students of SMPN 4 VII Koto Sungai Sarik, Padang Pariaman Regency. The sample in this study uses the purposive sampling method to obtain a sample of 25 students. The data analysis used the chi-square test (p<0.05) using a questionnaire. The data were analyzed univariate and bivariate. The study results showed that the breakfast habits of students were generally less than 15 students (60%) and the concentration of students was less than as many as 14 students (56%). There was a significant relationship between breakfast habits and students' learning concentration with a value of p=0.04. Getting children used to breakfast, will increase the child's concentration on learning and the child's achievement will increase by itself

Abstract

Chronic kidney failure is a condition where kidney function decreases gradually due to kidney damage. One of the treatments that can be done to minimize the risk of causing further kidney damage is hemodialysis. Fatigue is the main complaint often experienced by chronic kidney failure patients undergoing long-term hemodialysis so that it will affect their quality of life. Purpose of the study: to determine the level of fatigue in chronic kidney failure patients undergoing hemodialysis. Method: cross sectional. Data Source: primary data in the form of observation sheets and secondary data in the form of a list of names of chronic kidney failure patients and supporting data obtained from room nurses. Research Results: The level of fatigue was generally at a moderate level in 17 people (56.7%) in chronic kidney failure patients in the hemodialysis room at Dr M Djamil Padang General Hospital, it is hoped that health services, especially nurses, can identify and overcome the level of fatigue in chronic kidney failure patients undergoing hemodialysis.

Abstract

Non-communicable diseases (NCDs) are chronic diseases and are not transmitted from person to person. The prevalence of NCDs continues to increase along with changes in people's lifestyles in an unbalanced direction. Based on WHO data in 2017, NCDs are one of the causes of the most deaths, which is 69.9% of the total disease burden in Indonesia. The importance of routine health checks is a preventive step in detecting health problems early and maintaining the quality of life in the community. The purpose of this activity is to conduct public health checks in an effort to increase public awareness of the early detection of non-communicable diseases in the people of Ampalu village, Pariaman City. NCD risk control can be applied with CERDIK behavior, namely periodic health checks, eliminating cigarette smoke, diligent physical activity, a healthy diet with balanced calories, adequate rest, and stress control. This behavior is a healthy behavior that is easy to remember and apply in daily life so that we can maintain body health, improve fitness, and enjoy old age without the burden of disease The method of activities carried out is in the form of discussions and direct practice of health checks for blood pressure, cholesterol, blood glucose, uric acid and calculation of the Body Mass Index (BMI). This community service is carried out by nursing lecturers at the Padang State University Clinic in Pariaman. The overall health examination results were quite good with the average normal examination results.
