Abstract

This research was motivated by problems in the world of education including curriculum changes, learning quality, and how educators carry out the process and application of learning models to improve critical thinking skills in students. Observations show that teaching carried out by educators is still teacher centred and the lecture method is more often used in delivering material. The Reading, Questioning, and Answering (RQA) learning model can assist students in developing their critical thinking skills through the assigned reading. RQA allows students to study the material, look for important points in the form of questions and look for answers to important issues from different sources. Critical thinking is very important for students to have since elementary school. Critical thinking skills provide logical and creative reasoning in thinking and solving problems. This research was conducted in science subjects at SD Negeri 15 Sorong City. The sample size of this study was 40 students divided into two classes: IV, A and IV B. This research is a quantitative approach with the type of research Quasi Experiment Control Group Pretest Post-test design. The results of the analysis show that the data is normally distributed and homogeneous and the results of the calculation of t-Sig (2 tailed) of 0.001 <0.05, it can be concluded that H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted, which means that there is a difference between the critical thinking skills of students in the control class and the critical thinking skills of students in the experimental class who are given treatment using the RQA model.

Abstract

This research is backgrounded by the ability of students' Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) in solving science learning problems. Therefore, a learning model is needed to improve students' Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) abilities. The Problem Based Learning (PBL) model is a model that is very possible to be able to develop HOTS. Participants are trained to be able to design science learning based on the PBL model so that learning objectives related to the development of HOTS for students are achieved properly. The PBL model has learning stages in the form of 1) the orientation of the educated to the problem; 2) organizing learners to learn; 3) guiding individual or group investigations; 4) develop and present the work; and 5) analyze and evaluate problem solving. Therefore, the PBL model can help develop higher order thinking skills in science learning in elementary schools

Abstract

Kemampuan berhitung siswa ditingkat MI masih tergolong rendah, khususnya pada materi bangun datar, hal ini disebabkan oleh kurangnya penggunaan pendekatan kontekstual dalam proses pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Group Investigation berbantuan Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik (LKPD) berbasis kearifan lokal Papua dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berhitung siswa. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan desain quasi eksperimen dengan tipe Nonrandomised Control-Group Pretest-Posttest Design yaitu kelas eksperimen menggunakan (Group Investigation dan LKPD) dan kelas kontrol menggunakan (pembelajaran konvensional). Instrumen pengumpulan data berupa tes hasil belajar dan angket respon siswa. Hasil dari penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata nilai pre-test siswa kelas eksperimen sebesar 57,62 meningkat menjadi 76,97 pada post-test, dengan nilai N-Gain sebesar 0,56 (kategori sedang). Analisis regresi menunjukkan adanya pengaruh positif dan signifikan antara penerapan model GI berbantuan LKPD terhadap kemampuan berhitung. Selain itu, hasil angket menunjukkan bahwa 86% siswa merasa lebih termotivasi, dan LKPD dinilai sangat menarik dengan tampilan 90,4% kualitas soal 86,4%, serta penyajian materi 87,8%. Hasil dari penelitian ini membuktikan bahwa integrasi kearifan lokal dalam LKPD yang diterapkan melalui model GI mampu menciptakan pembelajaran matematika yang berbasis budaya menjadi bermakna, menarik, serta efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berhitung, keterlibatan siswa secara aktif dan memperkuat nilai-nilai kontekstual dalam proses pembelajaran

Abstract

A change, including a change in the field of education, can be said to be a form of innovation if the change is done intentionally and to improve the previous conditions to make it more profitable in order to improve a better life. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the government is currently moving to change the online learning system that can be done at each student's home. As a result, the use of ICT (Information and Communication Technology) is increasing. In the learning innovation that is carried out, there are various obstacles that must be passed. What are the obstacles that must be overcome and what are the solutions for related parties such as the Directorate of Elementary Schools in overcoming these obstacles and ensuring that learning innovations during the pandemic can be achieved? The purpose of this article is to understand learning innovations by the Directorate of Elementary Schools and identify and overcome obstacles to learning innovations in their application. The research method used in this study is a qualitative method. It is hoped that in the future there will be an even better online model to support learning to be more effective and efficient which can be well received by students so that the objectives of the Directorate of Elementary Schools in 2024 can be achieved.

Abstract

Character education is essential in the learning process to form positive attitudes and values in students. Discipline is one of the strengthening of character education that needs to be considered. The formation of the disciplinary character of students can use positive discipline methods. This article aims to explain and analyze the implementation of positive discipline to support student character education in MI Al-Ishlah Sorong City. The research method used is qualitative descriptive with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. The data collected is then analyzed using analytical techniques designed by Huberman & Miles: data collection, reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. Teachers adopt a positive reinforcement and reward approach to increase student participation, cooperation, and responsibility. In addition, clear rules and fair consequences are also applied to develop good behavior and respect for the environment. In the context of character education, positive discipline helps students internalize moral values such as honesty, responsibility, and mutual respect. Students also learn to recognize and manage emotions positively and develop social skills that are important in everyday life. The results showed that positive discipline can be effective as a means of character education for students in MI Al-Ishlah Sorong City. Positive discipline can help students to understand positive values such as responsibility, cooperation, and honesty. In addition, the application of positive discipline can also help students to develop good social and emotional skills. Therefore, positive discipline can be used as one of the effective character education strategies for students at MI Al-Ishlah Sorong City.
