Abstract

Man and women are called to build their marriage in the world. It means that God is the main Creator of marriage. The marriage will be a sacrament because it shows to world a wonderful relationship between Christ, the head of the Church and His Body, which is the Church.” In one hand, the Church always strengthens her people to live harmoniously in their marriage, but the other hand, the Church facilatates those who have problem in their marriage to get an annulment. Annulment is a legal procedur for declaring  a marriage null an avoid. Unlike divorce, it is usually retroactive, meaning that an annulled  marriage is considered to be invalid from the begining almost as if it had never taken place.

Abstract

Positive Psychology is a scientific study of human strength and virtue. Positive Psychology, as an umbrella term and a movement, focuses on happiness, positive health, resilience, growth, and psychological well-being. The scientists and practitioners of Positive Psychology believe that an individual, through Positive Psychology, can develop engagement and meaning in his life by knowing, understanding and applying his strength in meaningful ways in order to achieve happiness and well-being. This article presents a short history, the meaning and the purpose of Positive Psychology and its main themes such as happiness, well-being and human strength as well as the benefits of the interventions and applications of positive psychology in schools and clinical settings.

Abstract

The growth and development of children occurs within a family. The quality of children's personality development and faith is highly dependent on the quality of their parents and children relationships in a family. Relationship between parents and children is also determined by the quality of the relationship of husband and wife. Thus, the quality of husband and wife relationship and parenting style influence the developmental maturity of the personality and the faith of their children. The purpose of this paper is to explain the quality of husband and wife relationships and parenting style in a nuclear family and its impact on the process of personality formation and faith of the children from the perspective of psychology.

Abstract

Skizofrenia adalah salah satu jenis gangguan mental yang berada pada kategori gangguan psikosis. Ada berbagai macam penyebab gangguan skizofrenia antara lain faktor genetik, gangguan pada areal tertentu di otak, gangguan pada sel saraf, pengaruh kesehatan ibu dan janin pra-natal serta pada waktu bersalin, dan faktor kognitif serta pengaruh lingkungan sosial. Para penderita gangguan ini, bila sudah kronis, pikiran dan perilakunya menyimpang seperti adanya delusi, halusinasi, dan bahkan tidak bisa mengurus atau merawat dirinya lagi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode studi kasus pada tiga klien yang dirawat di Rumah Sakit Jiwa Nasional, Manila, Filipina. Data diperoleh melalui wawancara, psikotes, informasi dari orang penting yang mengenal mereka serta observasi langsung atas perilaku mereka, diinterpretasikan, dibuatlah diagnosa dan prognosa serta rekomendasi untuk penanganan psikoterapis sesuai dengan keadaan klien. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa para pasien/klien penderita schizophrenia perlu ditangani melalui terapi medis dari psikiater dan terapi psikologis dengan metode dan teknik terapi Kognitif Behavioral.

Abstract

Harta buang is a customary fine, such as ivory, male earrings and gold breast pendant, to be paid by the divorcing party of the husband or wife. Harta buang also means a fine to be paid to the woman who was raped, humiliated, or made a temporary lover but then not married. These customary treasure fines are intended to prevent the occurrence of divorce and also as a form of expression of restoration and respect for the dignity of women who have been divorced or abused. This study aims to describe Tanimbarese people’s understanding of the shift in the means of payment of property and their appreciation of women. The results show that people of Tanimbar began to use money as a means of payment of the property as determined by the officials of Tanimbarese villages (latupati). The villages’ officials of Tanimbarese were of the opinion that paying both with customary objects and with money express the respect for women. However, some Tanimbarese still consider that payments with customary objects are more wighted and beter respect for women.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to achieve an understanding of the marital problems of Catholics that occurred in the Tanimbar in the Diocese of Amboina. In this research, we used social methods, namely qualitative research method. The reason behind this research is this method can help to describe the life of people from within, from the point of understanding of the person being studied. Thus, the result of this study present a better understanding of issues surrounding marriage and how religious view affect people, who are practicing their marital life.

Abstract

Depression is one of mood disorders due to intense sadness, hopeless and withdrawal from others which disrupts daily activities and behavior. The purpose of this study is to analyze and explain the usefulness of Cognitive Therapy in dealing with depressed clients. Cognitive therapy is a process of treatment to help client to correct his faulty belief and thinking that can impact on client’s emotion and behavior. Many studies have shown that Cognitive Therapy is useful for dealing with patients who are depressed.

Abstract

The 2013/revision Curriculum is a furture development of earlier curricula, in which the implementation of the teacher’s competence in matters of religious instruction is imperative. Focus of the qualitative research is how are the competency and problematics of teacher’s implementing the 2013/revision curriculum of Catholic Religious instruction at the schools in the South Tanimbar District? The result of this investigation is being studied analticall in the context of Catholic Religion teacher’s competency and problematics wich occur when the 2013/revision curriculum of Catholic religious instruction is being implemented.

Abstract

Students who are depressed will have problem to concentrate to finish their studies. Depression is one of mood disorders due to intense sadness, hopeless and withdrawal from others which disrupts daily activities and behavior. The purpose of this study is to analyze and explain the usefulness of Cognitive Therapy in dealing with depressed students. Cognitive therapy is a process of treatment to help client to correct his faulty belief and thinking that can impact on client‟s emotion and behavior. This study uses a qualitative method. The type of research used is a Case Study. The subjects were several students who showed symptoms of depression.

Abstract

Prejudice and conflict are multicultural challenges in many urban areas including the city of Ambon. Even the challenges of Ambon city are getting heavier given the legacy of a religiously nuanced horizontal conflict that occurred several years ago. Now Ambon looks calm and peaceful. Even many parties have declared Ambon as a harmony community. However, other parties are still doubtful and consider peace in Ambon only at the ceremonial level. With a qualitative approach, field study and literature study, this research explains that religious activities and celebration that have involved so many people from different religious communities have shown how progress in harmony and peace in Ambon city and Moluccas.
