Abstract

Currently, Indonesia is experiencing a triple burden malnutrition, on the one hand it is still experiencing the problem of malnutrition, but on the other hand there is obesity and an increase in the prevalence of nutrition-related diseases such as Chronic Energy Deficiency. The current condition of adolescents is more interested in consuming ready-to-eat food which causes a high rate of nutritional deficiency so that it can affect nutritional problems in adolescents. This study aims to determine the risk factors for chronic energy deficiency in adolescent girls in Majene district. The population in this study is adolescent girls. The sampling technique is purposive sampling and the type of research used is Cross Sectional. The statistical test to be used is chi-quare or fisher-exact. The results of this study stated that of the four variables studied, namely infectious diseases, knowledge, diet and physical activity, the only factor that has a relationship with the incidence of KEK is the dietary factor. Thus, to reduce the prevalence of SEZs in adolescents, it can be maximized in providing education related to healthy diets.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a digital module of science and natural sciences integrated with traditional games to train students' science process skills. This study uses a mix method approach with the type of research Research and Development (R&D). The development model used is ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). This research was conducted at SDN 51 Sumarambu, Telluwanua District, Palopo City. The research subjects were teachers and 21 fourth-grade students with the research object of the digital module of science and natural sciences integrated with traditional games developed according to the characteristics and needs of students. From the results of the needs analysis, it shows that students prefer learning styles that involve students directly, such as learning while playing. The design of the digital module of science and natural sciences in this study is an animated video of traditional games that will be linked to learning activities regarding the types of styles. For the validity of the digital module of science and natural sciences integrated with traditional games, it was validated by 3 validators, namely the material validator with a value of 75% (valid), the language validator with a value of 87.5% (very valid), and the media/learning administration validator with a value of 78.1% (valid). The teacher's practicality test yielded a score of 85% (practical) and the student's practicality test yielded a score of 87.41% (very practical). The effectiveness test showed that the N-Gain value for each indicator ranged from 0.44 to 0.77, with a moderate to high categorization. This indicates that the digital science module integrated with traditional games effectively trains students' science process skills.

Abstract

Primipara is a woman who gave birth for the first time and had her first child. Primaripara mothers are usually not ready to play a role in taking care of babies. One of the access to overcome baby care is through health services that are easily accessible to the community with programs to improve maternal knowledge and skills. The purpose of the study was to determine the relationship between MP-ASI feeding behavior by primipara mothers and nutritional status. Research Methods with instruments using questionnaires, total sampling techniques with a total of 39 respondents. The results of the study showed a p-value of >0.005 which means that there was no relationship between the behavior of breastfeeding MP by primipara mothers and the nutritional status of clowns aged 6-24 months in Pambusuang village. The conclusion of this study which includes the relationship of knowledge, attitudes, and actions of MP breastfeeding by primipara mothers to nutritional status where the results of the study have a p-value of >0.005. The results showed that there was no relationship between the behavior of MP breastfeeding by primipara mothers and the nutritional status of clowns aged 6-24 months in Pambusuang village, Polewali Mandar Regency.

Abstract

Adequate nutrition for toddlers is crucial, especially during the First 1000 Days of Life, to support optimal growth and development. Malnutrition in toddlers can lead to issues such as stunting, wasting, and increased disease risk. This study aims to determine the effect of supplementary feeding (PMT) on the nutritional status of undernourished toddlers in the Katumbangan Health Center area. The research used a quantitative method with a pre- experimental one-group pretest-posttest design. The population consisted of 42 undernourished toddlers aged 11-59 months, also used as samples through total sampling. Data were collected through anthropometric measurements of weight and height before and after the 30-day PMT intervention. Data analysis used the Wilcoxon test to identify differences in nutritional status before and after the intervention. The results showed a significant improvement in nutritional status after PMT, with 47.6% of the toddlers improving from malnourished to normal status. Statistical tests showed a p-value of 0.002, indicating a significant difference. In conclusion, PMT is effective in improving the nutritional status of toddlers, and it is recommended to continue the program to reduce the prevalence of malnutrition in the area.

Abstract

The act of reading food labels is one of the pillars of the Balanced Nutrition Message (BNM) which can support a healthy lifestyle by helping consumers choose the food they consume to casure if is safe for their health. This research aims to determine the relationship between knowledge and the level of compliance with reading food labels for packaged foods among students of the Nutrition Study Program at the University of West Sulawesi. This research uses an observational type of research using a cross sectional design with a population of 380 nutrition study program students. The sample used was 87 nutrition study program students taken using the Probability Sampling technique. Data collection used a questionnaire by using google from and statistical data analysis used the chi-square test. The results of statistical tests show that respondents' knowledge of food labels in the good category (4.6%), in the sufficient category (69.0%) and in the poor category (26.4%). Meanwhile, for the level of compliance, respondents who had the highest level of compliance were in the medium category (85.1%), in the high category (11.5%), and in the low category (3.4%). The data in this study shows that the respondents' knowledge regarding food labels is in the sufficient category and the level of compliance in reading food labels is in the medium category. The conclusion of this study shows that the ρ value ≤ α (0.05), which means there is a relationship between Knowledge and the Level of Compliance with Reading Food Labels for Packaged Foods among Nutrition Study Program Students at West Sulawesi University. Nutrition students are expected to be able to educate the public about the importance of reading food labels on packaged foods before buying certain products, because they can have negative impacts.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the unhealthy food choices of young women due to a lack of knowledge about healthy food choices and the increasing rate of overweight due to food choices. This research aims to determine the effect of nutrition education on increasing knowledge and attitudes towards healthy food choices in young women to prevent overweight with multimedia video learning. The method used is a quantitative design using pre-experimental design with a one group pretest-posttest approach and probability stratified random sampling technique. The research population was 263 female students and the research sample was 96 female students. Knowledge and attitude data were collected using a questionnaire, and analyzed using the Wilcoxon test and paired t-test. The research results showed that there was an increase in the average value of knowledge from 30.10 to 82.60. Meanwhile, the average attitude value was originally 61.43 to 80.48. Based on the analysis test carried out, there is a significant value for knowledge and attitudes, namely 0.000, which means <0.05, it can be concluded that there is a significant influence of providing nutrition education using multimedia video learning on increasing the knowledge and attitudes of young women about healthy food choices to prevent overweight.
