Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the ability to understand the concept of infinite series using Augmented Reality in the Geogebra application at Medan State University. The research method used in this research is a descriptive qualitative method. The instruments for collecting data in this research were interviews and analytical skills tests. Three students from the mathematics education study program class PSPM 23 B, Medan State University, were taken as samples for interviews and analytical skills tests. The test is carried out on infinite series material. Next, analysis of all data was carried out using the following steps: data reduction stage, data presentation stage, and conclusions. The research results show that: 1. Students with a visual learning style tend to understand concepts more easily through graphic displays and simulations provided by AR. They can identify patterns and shapes of infinite series better, but some of them have difficulty generalizing the concept and connecting it to broader theory, 2. Students with an auditory learning style rely more on verbal explanations and discussions to understand the material. Although they can grasp concepts through communication-based learning strategies, they are less than optimal in understanding the direct visualizations presented by AR. This shows that the use of AR needs to be supported with clearer narratives or guidance for students with this learning style. 3. Students with a kinesthetic learning style show the most significant increase in understanding. With AR, they can interact directly with the concepts being studied, see shape changes in real-time, and understand the growth patterns of infinite series more concretely. This proves that interactive technology-based learning is very effective for students who rely more on direct experience in understanding the material.

Abstract

Students' understanding of mathematical concepts is still a challenge, especially in solving problems that require procedural and conceptual understanding, such as on the topic of circles. This study aims to analyze the types of errors made by students in solving mathematical problems on the topic of circles using the Newman's Error Analysis (NEA) procedure. The approach to this study is descriptive qualitative, conducted at SD 050661 Kwala Bingai with 20 subjects of grade VI-A. Data were collected through written tests and analyzed using five stages of NEA: reading errors, understanding, transformation, process skills, and writing final answers. The results of the study showed that most students made errors at the stages of understanding, transformation, and process skills. Factors causing errors include lack of conceptual understanding, procedural errors, and inaccuracy in solving problems. The conclusion of this study shows the need for an active role for teachers in identifying and overcoming student errors through appropriate teaching methods, especially on the topic of circles. This study is expected to provide an overview for teachers in designing appropriate learning strategies to improve students' understanding of mathematical concepts.

Abstract

The K-Pop phenomenon has become part of global popular culture, including in Indonesia. The music, dance, fashion, and lifestyle introduced by K-Pop idols are widely followed by their fans, especially among teenagers and students. In Islam, idolizing someone is allowed, but with clear limitations. This study aims to see the extent of K-Pop's influence on the faith aspects of Muslim students who are fans of K-Pop, and how they are influenced by K-Pop. This study uses a quantitative descriptive approach and survey method to analyze the faith of Muslim students at Medan State University who are fans of K-Pop. The population in this study were Muslim students who were fans of K-Pop. The sample of this study was 25 Muslim students who met the criteria as K-Pop fans. The majority of respondents have a fairly good level of awareness in practicing Islamic teachings in their daily lives. Most respondents routinely perform the five daily prayers, maintain relationships according to Islamic teachings, and try to prioritize Islamic values in their lives. However, there are still some individuals who are not fully consistent in carrying out their worship and need to get further motivation and education to be more consistent in carrying out their religious obligations.
