Abstract

This article is about marriage and divorce. This letter was written by Paul to the church in Corinth. Paul emphasized the importance of maintaining the sanctity of marriage and avoiding fornication. He also offered a solution for married couples to stay away from each other by mutual consent for a while, in case of problems in their marriage. Paul reminds us that divorce is not a way out. The article entitled "Marriage Pleasing to God" teaches the attitude of love, respect, and appreciation in living a harmonious Christian family relationship but also the fear of God. And invite every individual, including congregations, married families to prioritize common interests. In the context of the congregation, by reflecting the message of "Marriage that is pleasing to God" in the practice of church and family life, we can create a more harmonious family relationship, oriented towards the ministry of love for the common good.

Abstract

Abstract: This article analyzes Luke 8:40–48 with a focus on Jesus’ act of restoring the woman who had suffered from chronic bleeding for twelve years as a form of holistic restoration encompassing physical, social, and spiritual dimensions. In the context of first-century Jewish society, the woman was considered unclean and experienced both social and religious exclusion. Using a qualitative approach with narrative-critical and socio-historical methods, this study highlights how Luke presents Jesus as the Messiah who transcends social and religious boundaries to manifest God’s saving love in its fullness. Drawing on modern interpretive theories from Stephen D. Moore, Joel B. Green, Barbara E. Reid, Mary H. Schertz, and Dedi Bili Laholo, this research demonstrates that the healing event is not merely a physical miracle but a theological symbol of liberation and inclusivity within the Kingdom of God. Theologically and pastorally, this study affirms the church’s calling to embody Jesus’ love through inclusive, empathetic, and holistic ministry one that not only proclaims spiritual salvation but also restores human dignity and builds solidarity with the marginalized. Abstrak: Artikel ini menganalisis Lukas 8:40–48 dengan fokus pada tindakan Yesus yang memulihkan perempuan yang menderita pendarahan selama dua belas tahun sebagai bentuk pemulihan holistik yang mencakup dimensi fisik, sosial, dan spiritual. Dalam konteks masyarakat Yahudi abad pertama, perempuan tersebut dianggap najis dan mengalami keterasingan sosial serta religius. Melalui pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode kritik naratif dan sosio-historis, penelitian ini menyoroti bagaimana Lukas menampilkan Yesus sebagai Mesias yang melampaui batas-batas sosial dan religius untuk menghadirkan kasih Allah yang menyelamatkan secara utuh. Dengan memanfaatkan teori-teori tafsir modern dari Stephen D. Moore, Joel B. Green, Barbara E. Reid, Mary H. Schertz, dan Dedi Bili Laholo, kajian ini menunjukkan bahwa peristiwa penyembuhan tersebut tidak sekadar mukjizat fisik, tetapi simbol teologis pembebasan dan inklusivitas Kerajaan Allah. Secara teologis dan pastoral, penelitian ini menegaskan panggilan gereja masa kini untuk meneladani kasih Yesus melalui pelayanan yang inklusif, empatik, dan holistik yang tidak hanya berfokus pada keselamatan rohani, tetapi juga memulihkan martabat manusia dan membangun solidaritas dengan kaum termarginalkan.

Abstract

Kecemasan merupakan salah satu gangguan mental yang paling umum dialami manusia di era modern, ditandai oleh ketidakpastian hidup, tekanan sosial, serta tantangan eksistensial yang kompleks. Studi ini bertujuan untuk menelaah pengharapan Kristen dalam menghadapi kecemasan melalui pendekatan eksegesis terhadap Filipi 4:6–7, sebuah teks yang ditulis oleh Rasul Paulus kepada jemaat di Filipi yang tengah mengalami tekanan dan kekhawatiran. Metode yang digunakan adalah studi literatur dan analisis eksegetikal terhadap teks Alkitab, dikaitkan dengan pemahaman gangguan kecemasan dari perspektif psikologi modern. Hasil studi menunjukkan bahwa Paulus tidak hanya menawarkan larangan untuk tidak khawatir, tetapi memberikan solusi spiritual yang konkret melalui praktik doa, permohonan, dan ucapan syukur. Janji akan damai sejahtera Allah yang melampaui segala akal menjadi inti dari pengharapan Kristen yang tetap relevan untuk menjawab kebutuhan spiritual manusia modern. Temuan ini menyiratkan bahwa iman Kristen dapat menjadi sumber kekuatan dan ketenangan dalam menghadapi kecemasan, serta memberikan kontribusi terhadap pendekatan holistik dalam penanganan gangguan kecemasan yang melibatkan dimensi spiritual.

Abstract

The church is called to serve with integrity, but is often faced with ethical and moral challenges that threaten the credibility of its ministry. Often the church is used as a means of power, with church leaders preferring to compromise with corrupt systems for the sake of position and a comfortable life rather than upholding faith and truth. This points to a deep crisis of integrity in ministry. This study aims to reconstruct the understanding of integrity in ministry through a hermeneutical analysis of the narrative in Luke 23:50-56a, which focuses on the figure of Joseph of Arimathea. As a member of the Sanhedrin, Joseph was faced with a difficult choice: to prioritize his position or to act out of compassion for Jesus. He chose to take down and bury Jesus' body, an act that went against the Sanhedrin's consensus and could potentially endanger himself. This study uses a qualitative approach, with narrative hermeneutics based on E. G. Singgih's method, which includes: structure, plot, characters, conflict, setting, time, style, and narrator. The results of the study show that integrity in service lies not only in institutional obedience, but in the willingness to transcend institutional and social barriers. Joseph's actions show that true service is rooted in moral courage and compassion, which are capable of setting aside personal, political, and comfort interests. Contemporary churches must reconstruct their understanding of ministry to emphasize courage, ethics, and commitment, even when facing personal risk. In this way, the ministry of the Church can once again become an authentic and transformative witness.
