Abstract

The purpose of this research is to describe the personality aspects of the characters in Tere Liye's The Strong Child novel. Describe the implications of research results in learning Indonesian in high school. This research use desciptive qualitative approach. The source of the data in this study is in the form of sentences in the novel Si Anak Strong by Tere Liye. The form of data used in this research is the structure of the character's personality and the dynamics of the character's personality. The data collection technique used in this study is a reading and note taking technique. The data analysis technique used is descriptive qualitative. The results of this study can be found in the form of personality structure and personality dynamics. (1) In the form of personality structure there are 22 data. (2) In the form of personality dynamics there are 25 data. The implications of the research results for Indonesian language learning are applied to basic competencies X KD 3.8 interpreting the author's view of the novel's life. Class Xll high school level semester 2.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan diksi yang digunakan pada antologi puisi Cerita Perjuangan karya dosen dan guru bahasa Indonesia dan untuk mendeskripsikan implikasi hasil penelitian terhadap pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia di SMA.Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan stilistika. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini adalah teks puisi Cerita Perjuangan karya dosen dan guru bahasa Indonesia. Wujud dara pada penelitian ini yaitu kata pada puisi yang ada di dalam antologi Cerita Perjuangan. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan kajian pustaka dengan analisis data menggunakan teknik informal.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan diksi pada antologi puisi Cerita Perjuangan karya dosen dan guru bahasa Indonesia meliputi kata yang bermakna denotasi, kata yang bermakna konotasi, kata umum, kata khusus, kata ilmiah, dan kata popular. Kata berrmakna denotasi pada antologi puisi Cerita Perjuangan ada 8 data. Kata berrmakna konotasi pada antologi puisi Cerita Perjuangan ada 7 data. Kata umum pada antologi puisi Cerita Perjuangan ada 9 data.Kata khusus pada antologi puisi Cerita Perjuangan ada 38 data. Kata ilmiah pada puisi Cerita Perjuangan ada 21 data. Kata popular pada puisi Cerita Perjuangan ada 7 data. Implikasikan hasil penelitian dalam antologi puisi Cerita Perjuangan dapat digunakan dalam pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia di SMA kelas X yang dengan kompetensi dasar 3.17 menganalisis unsur pembangun puisi. Pada penelitian ini penulis hanya fokus pada unsur pembangun puisi yaitu diksi.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of using Quizlet and Mime Game as learning media on the vocabulary mastery of descriptive texts among seventh-grade students at SMP Negeri 1 Kedungbanteng. The research was motivated by the low level of student interest and achievement in learning English, particularly in vocabulary acquisition. The method employed was a quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest control group. The research sample consisted of two classes, each assigned to use either Quizlet or Mime Game during the learning process. The results indicated that both media significantly improved students’ vocabulary mastery. However, students who learned using Quizlet showed statistically higher achievement compared to those in the Mime Game group. These findings suggest that integrating digital-based learning media like Quizlet and game-based media like Mime Game can serve as effective alternative teaching strategies. The use of such media not only enhances student engagement in the learning process but also positively impacts English learning outcomes, especially in the area of vocabulary mastery.
