Abstract

Abstract

This research focuses on the contestation of quality indicators in Islamic education and its implications for the character crisis among students, with the aim of revitalizing and developing adaptive assessment instruments that integrate substantive character and 21st-century competencies. Employing a mixed-methods approach with an exploratory sequential design, a case study was conducted at MA Nurul Jadid Paiton. Data were collected through participant observation, in-depth interviews with the school principal, teachers, committee members, and students, as well as document studies. Thematic analysis was used for qualitative data, while descriptive and inferential statistical analyses were applied to quantitative data. The findings reveal a significant disconnection between conventional quality indicators and the manifestation of a character crisis, such as a lack of initiative, empathy, and resilience, which are not effectively measured by existing instruments. The novelty lies in the design of an adaptive instrument that integrates three dimensions of competence: character, digital literacy and critical thinking. Key data indicate that 76% of teachers believe the current quality indicators do not reflect the realities of character-based learning in the field. Consequently, this research proposes the Islamic Education Quality Assessment Instrument Model Based on Digital Character Ecosystem (IPMBEKD), expected to be a fundamental solution for holistically measuring quality, fostering pedagogical change, and strengthening character formation in the digital age.

Abstract

This research focuses on efforts to reconstruct Islamic education through an interdisciplinary approach in response to the complex challenges of the 21st century. The study was conducted at Ma'had Aly Nurul Jadid Probolinggo, a representative institution seeking to integrate traditional Islamic values with contemporary scientific approaches. Using qualitative methods with a single case study design, data were obtained through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation studies with five key informants: leaders, teachers, and students. Data analysis was conducted using the Miles and Huberman model, which encompasses data reduction, data presentation, and drawing and verifying conclusions. The results indicate that the interdisciplinary strategy at Ma'had Aly Nurul Jadid stems from a transformative leadership awareness, cross-disciplinary teacher collaboration, and a shift in the students' learning culture to become more reflective and contextual. The curriculum was developed through a thematic approach that connects Islamic values with everyday life issues. The implications of this research suggest that Islamic education can be renewed without losing its identity by creating a space for epistemological integration rooted in tradition and connected to social reality. These findings reinforce the importance of an interdisciplinary approach as a substantive strategy in the renewal of Islamic education in the modern era.

Abstract

This study focuses on the effectiveness of YouTube advertisements in increasing new student enrollment at Pondok Pesantren Nurul Jadid. The aim of this research is to examine the extent to which digital video content on the YouTube platform influences public perception, enrollment decisions, and the role of media in shaping the image of Islamic educational institutions. This research employs a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with new students, parents, the new student admissions team (PSB), and the pesantren’s media division, as well as internal documentation of the registration process. The results show that YouTube advertisements have a significant impact on shaping positive public perceptions of Pondok Pesantren Nurul Jadid. Visual narratives, alumni testimonials, and authentic depictions of student life successfully attract the attention of prospective students and their parents, leading to an annual increase in enrollment numbers. Videos that are narratively designed and equipped with registration links have proven effective in guiding audiences from interest to concrete action. The implications of this study suggest that Islamic boarding schools need to adopt strategic digital marketing approaches to expand their outreach and strengthen institutional branding.

Abstract

This research focuses its study on the gap in the quality of  education in elementary schools located in mountainous areas with medium accreditation, by taking a field study at SDN 2 Kalisari. The main focus of this research is to identify factors that cause inequality in the quality of education, particularly those related to access to technology, student achievement and participation, and parental and community involvement. The method used is a qualitative approach with a case study type, where data is collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation from the principal, teachers, and students. The results of the study show that limited digital facilities and internet networks, weak student literacy skills, and minimal support from the family and community environment are the main obstacles in realizing quality education. The implications of these findings emphasize the importance of contextual and equitable policy interventions, as well as the need for collaboration between schools, government, and communities to address the gap in education quality in remote areas.
