<![CDATA[The important of translation can be seen in our daily life. Translation can be found in many aspects of our life such as books, newspaper, magazines, novel, comics, even movies. One important aspect in translation study is class shift. Class shift deals with the changing of word classes in source language to the target language. Hence one language and others are different, this study aimed to know the influence of class shift on achieving semantic meaning in the English-Indonesian translation of Yule’s pragmatics. Qualitative research is the type of this research and descriptive qualitative as research design. There are three chapters of the book which are chosen randomly as the data on this study. The total number of data is 98 from those three chapters. The results of the study show that there are seven types of class shift which are found in this study such as adjective to adverb, adjective to noun, adjective to verb, adverb to adjective, adverb to noun, adverb to verb, and verb to adjective. There are two types of class shift which often appear in this study. Those are adjective to noun and adverb to adjective. Class shift can be occurred anytime. The occurrence of class shifts does not guarantee anything in achieving meaning of a sentence.]]>

<![CDATA[This study was aimed to analyze the conversational maxims appeared and flouted by the speakers in casual conversation which are conducted by two students of English Language Education, Graduate Program of State Semarang University. In order to achieve the goal, the writer used descriptive qualitative research design. Therefore, this study is conducted systematically through the technique of data collecting and data analysis. As the results of this research, the writer divided into two categories. The first result, the writer found out that maxim of quality was the most appeared in the conversation, the frequency appeared of maxim of quantity was 16 times, followed by maxim of quality with 13 times appeared, 2 times appeared for the maxim of relation and only 1 time for maxim of manner. The second result showed that there were 3 kinds flouting maxims in the conversation. The flouting maxims that the speakers did were maxim of quantity (only 1 time) and maxim of quality (2 times). From the result, it implicated that the speakers obey the rule of Gricean maxims. It also means that the conversation runs smoothly and both of the speakers understand what they uttered in the conversation. Although there is some flouting inside the conversation, it does not mean that there is some problem occur in the conversation. Keywords: conversational maxims, flouting maxim, casual conversation]]>

<![CDATA[Penelitian ini menganalisis munculnya media massa pembaca dan penghafal Alquran di Indonesia utamanya pada KAFA (Komunitas Pecinta Alquran) di Cirebon yang medianya lewat gawai. Sekarang pada abad 21 fenomena ini banyak muncul ke permukaan adalah bagaimana otoritas baru memanfaatkan media baru untuk menjawab sekat ruang dan waktu. Peneliti akan menguji seberapa besar pengaruh KAFA dalam menciptakan otoritas baru bagi lingkungan dan komunitasnya. <![CDATA[Majelis Taklim (Religious assembly) was a place where Islamic education takes place which carried the mission of Islamic dakwah (Spread an Islamic goodness). The purpose of this study was to determine the condition and development of Majelis Taklim Al-Bahjah. Analyzing the Development of Religious Character, as well as knowing the extent of the significance of the Majelis Taklim Al-Bahjah in developing Religious Character for the congregation. This type of research was included in the type of qualitative research with a case study approach. This research was carried out intensively, in detail and in depth towards a particular organization/ institution. The results of this study included; (1) the Majelis Taklim Al-Bahjah had experienced rapid development, the number of congregations and their administrators continues to grow. Even a place that was used as a stopover for Taklim cannot be done only in a room in the hall. (2) The Development of Religious Character in the Majelis Taklim Al-Bahjah located in the Sendang sub-district, Cirebon Regency had a very large influence, as evidenced by the implementation of the Coaching strategy, that was an organized Coaching strategy (expository strategy). (3) Development of the religious character of the members of the Majelis Taklim Al-Bahjah was very important/ significant. Majelis Taklim had a positive contribution in fostering religious character in society at large, and can be a solution for parents in educating their children in dealing with juvenile delinquency. As well as being the key to success in building a sakinah (harmony) household.]]>

<![CDATA[Agama Islam memiliki sifat dakwah yang harus dipahami secara menyeluruh dan diterapkan dengan konsistensi. Masyarakat Desa Liangjulang secara teratur mengadakan perayaan Maulid Nabi Muhammad SAW sebagai ungkapan rasa cinta mereka kepada Nabi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami tradisi atau perayaan Maulid Nabi Muhammad SAW yang dilakukan oleh masyarakat Desa Liangjulang, perilaku keagamaan mereka, serta faktor pendukung dan penghambat dalam perayaan Maulid Nabi. Pendekatan kualitatif digunakan sebegai dasar dalam penelitian ini. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi, dan triangulasi dengan tokoh agama dan masyarakat Desa Liangjulang. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa perayaan Maulid Nabi Muhammad SAW dilakukan secara rutin setiap tahun. Tradisi ini merupakan ungkapan teologis dari cinta masyarakat Desa Liangjulang kepada Nabi dan berperan dalam memperkuat semangat ibadah mereka, baik yang terlihat maupun yang tidak terlihat. Perayaan Maulid Nabi Muhammad SAW juga selalu disertai dengan pembacaan shalawat. Tradisi ini mendapatkan dukungan dan hambatan, baik dari internal maupun eksternal.]]>

<![CDATA[Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk menganalis kekuatan dan kelemahan yang terjadi dalam pengembangan desa wisata, bagaimana cara masyarakat mengembangkan Desa Wisata utamanya Pemancingan Jambu Manis (PJM) dan UMKM Keripik Pare di Desa Kepongpongan, Kecamatan Talun Kabupaten Cirebon, dan bagaimana masyarakat setempat menyelesaikan masalah yang terjadi dalam pengelolaan kegiatan tersebut. Pengabdian ini menggunakan metode Asset-Based Community Development, analisis data, dan wawancara dengan stakeholder (Pemangku Kebijakan/ Kepentingan). Dari pengabdian yang telah dilakukan, penulis menemukan bahwa dalam pengelolaan Desa Wisata dan UMKM yang ada di Desa Kepongpongan, masyarakat masih menemukan kendala dalam hal promosi, banyak dari mereka masih menggunakan gaya promosi lama atau masih dari mulut ke mulut belum menggunakan media sosial. Sehingga belum banyak masyarakat diluar Desa Kepongpongan mengetahui akan potensi wisata dan UMKM yang ada. Dari pengabdian ini pula, akhirnya masyarakat mulai mengetahui bagaimana mempromosikan Wisata dan UMKM yang ada dengan baik demi terwujudnya tujuan awal adanya pengelolaan kegiatan tersebut.]]>
