Abstract

Character education is at the heart of the Islamic education system, emphasizing not only academic intelligence but also the development of the moral and ethical character of students (santri). Islamic education aims to cultivate a generation that embodies knowledge and noble character. Pesantren (Islamic boarding schools) play a strategic role in enlightening and empowering communities by providing education in religious knowledge alongside essential life skills. These institutions can inspire environmental education, teaching students to love and care for their surroundings. This research assesses the impact of a waste laboratory program in reinforcing the values of Islamic education at Pondok Pesantren Kebon Jambu, focusing on various aspects such as behavioral changes among students, increased awareness of waste management, and contributions to the surrounding environment. A qualitative approach is employed to explore individual experiences and perspectives within the social and cultural context of the pesantren. Through a case study methodology, at Pondok Pesantren Kebon Jambu, this program has successfully educated students about the importance of recycling and waste reduction, while also creating economic benefits through composting organic waste. With commitment and enthusiasm, we can achieve education that prioritizes not only knowledge but also strong character and concern for the environment.

Abstract

Agama Islam memiliki sifat dakwah yang harus dipahami secara menyeluruh dan diterapkan dengan konsistensi. Masyarakat Desa Liangjulang secara teratur mengadakan perayaan Maulid Nabi Muhammad SAW sebagai ungkapan rasa cinta mereka kepada Nabi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami tradisi atau perayaan Maulid Nabi Muhammad SAW yang dilakukan oleh masyarakat Desa Liangjulang, perilaku keagamaan mereka, serta faktor pendukung dan penghambat dalam perayaan Maulid Nabi. Pendekatan kualitatif digunakan sebegai dasar dalam penelitian ini. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi, dan triangulasi dengan tokoh agama dan masyarakat Desa Liangjulang. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa perayaan Maulid Nabi Muhammad SAW dilakukan secara rutin setiap tahun. Tradisi ini merupakan ungkapan teologis dari cinta masyarakat Desa Liangjulang kepada Nabi dan berperan dalam memperkuat semangat ibadah mereka, baik yang terlihat maupun yang tidak terlihat. Perayaan Maulid Nabi Muhammad SAW juga selalu disertai dengan pembacaan shalawat. Tradisi ini mendapatkan dukungan dan hambatan, baik dari internal maupun eksternal.

Abstract

Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk menganalis kekuatan dan kelemahan yang terjadi dalam pengembangan desa wisata, bagaimana cara masyarakat mengembangkan Desa Wisata utamanya Pemancingan Jambu Manis (PJM) dan UMKM Keripik Pare di Desa Kepongpongan, Kecamatan Talun Kabupaten Cirebon, dan bagaimana masyarakat setempat menyelesaikan masalah yang terjadi dalam pengelolaan kegiatan tersebut. Pengabdian ini menggunakan metode Asset-Based Community Development, analisis data, dan wawancara dengan stakeholder (Pemangku Kebijakan/ Kepentingan). Dari pengabdian yang telah dilakukan, penulis menemukan bahwa dalam pengelolaan Desa Wisata dan UMKM yang ada di Desa Kepongpongan, masyarakat masih menemukan kendala dalam hal promosi, banyak dari mereka masih menggunakan gaya promosi lama atau masih dari mulut ke mulut belum menggunakan media sosial. Sehingga belum banyak masyarakat diluar Desa Kepongpongan mengetahui akan potensi wisata dan UMKM yang ada. Dari pengabdian ini pula, akhirnya masyarakat mulai mengetahui bagaimana mempromosikan Wisata dan UMKM yang ada dengan baik demi terwujudnya tujuan awal adanya pengelolaan kegiatan tersebut.

Abstract

Pemanfaatan teknologi digital dalam administrasi desa menjadi langkah strategis dalam meningkatkan efektivitas dan efisiensi pelayanan publik. Digitalisasi administrasi desa dapat mendukung berbagai program pemerintah, seperti asesmen stunting, program darurat, serta penyederhanaan alur administrasi kependudukan. Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PKM) ini diselenggarakan oleh Generasi Muda Forum Komunikasi Dosen (GM FKD) pada 20 Maret 2025 di salah satu desa di Kabupaten Bandung Barat, dengan tujuan meningkatkan pemahaman dan keterampilan perangkat desa dalam mengadopsi sistem administrasi berbasis teknologi digital. Metode pelaksanaan PKM ini mencakup seminar dan diskusi interaktif. Seminar edukatif memberikan wawasan tentang manfaat digitalisasi administrasi desa, sedangkan diskusi interaktif memungkinkan perangkat desa untuk berbagi pengalaman dan mendapatkan solusi terhadap kendala yang dihadapi dalam implementasi teknologi digital. Hasil dari kegiatan ini menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman peserta terhadap pentingnya administrasi berbasis digital serta kesadaran akan manfaatnya dalam mempercepat proses pelayanan publik. Meskipun terdapat tantangan seperti keterbatasan infrastruktur dan resistensi terhadap perubahan, peserta menunjukkan antusiasme dalam mempelajari dan menerapkan sistem digital. Melalui PKM ini diharapkan menjadi langkah awal dalam mendukung transformasi digital di tingkat desa untuk mendukung tata kelola pemerintahan yang lebih baik.

Abstract

Religious moderation aligns with the principles of sustainable development by fostering a culture of peace, justice, and inclusivity. Islamic educational settings often integrate religious values into the ELT curriculum, incorporating Islamic stories, teachings, and ethical principles into language learning materials and activities. By using this methodological approach, this research aims to provide valuable insights into effective strategies and key challenges in encouraging religious moderation through ELT in an Islamic education environment. The data used in this research were interview transcripts, focus group recordings, and documents which were then analyzed using thematic analysis to identify recurring themes, patterns, and insights related to strategies and challenges in encouraging religious moderation through ELT. This study adopted a qualitative research design to explore the various experiences, perspectives and practices of educators and stakeholders regarding the promotion of religious moderation through ELT. The study identified some strategies for promoting religious moderation: Incorporate Multicultural Content; Encourage Critical Thinking; Facilitate Open Dialogue; Promote Empathy and Respect; Address Misconceptions and Stereotypes; Highlight Common Values; Engage with Religious Leaders and Community Members and Empower Educators with Training. Some challenges as well were also found: Sensitivity and Cultural Context; Resistance to Change; Misinformation and Stereotypes; Balancing Academic Freedom and Sensitivity; Language Barriers; Lack of Resources and Training; Community and Parental Concerns; and Political and Social Context.

Abstract

Learners in today's modern age are highly technologically savvy. It is no surprise that some forms of IT-based instruction are used in language courses to make classes more entertaining and participatory for students. Teachers can involve their students in the learning process by providing a vibrant and engaging classroom environment using technology. This research aims to investigate the level of digital fluency of an Indonesian EFL teacher who uses IT-based language instruction to teach speaking, as well as how the Indonesian EFL teacher integrates digital tools and technology in their language instruction to teach speaking skills. These goals are achieved by observing an EFL teacher and 37 EFL students during three sessions of the teaching and learning process using a qualitative methodology. The results show that IT-based instruction is delivered through a variety of applications and websites, demonstrating the high level of digital literacy of the EFL teacher. It also reveals that the learning process is now inextricably linked to the internet as a learning resource and instrument, and that technological advancements benefit both students and teachers. Therefore, it is challenging to separate the roles of teachers and technology in constructing the current educational paradigm due to their influence on its progress.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the extent of the influence of Islamic Education (PAI) teachers' roles in improving Qur’anic Literacy (BTQ) among sixth-grade elementary school students in Balongan District, Indramayu Regency. The research employs a quantitative approach using a correlational method to examine the relationship between the two variables in a more measurable way. A total of 200 students were selected as the research sample using a probability sampling technique to ensure fair representation of the population. Data collection was carried out through two main instruments: a questionnaire to measure the perceived role of PAI teachers and a test to assess students’ BTQ skills. The collected data were analyzed with the help of SPSS version 26 using the Pearson Product Moment correlation technique. The analysis results showed a correlation value of 0.535 with a significance level of 0.05, indicating a strong and significant relationship between the role of PAI teachers and students’ BTQ literacy. Therefore, it can be concluded that PAI teachers have a positive influence in enhancing students’ ability to read and write the Qur’an.
