Abstract

The purpose of this study was to produce an arrangement by describing the development of the product, knowing the level of validity, the level of practicality, and presenting national songs for elementary school students' drumband music games. The development research used a 4D (four-D) model, the test subjects in this study were students who were members of a drumband group totaling 19 students. The results of the study are firstly the process of developing national songs for drumband music games through four stages: define, design, development, and disseminate. The development product was made into a prototype of musical notation scores using the Sibelius Ultimate application. The level of validity of the learning product is as follows, the feasibility of the material aspect with an average of 5 is included in the very valid category, the learning aspect with an average of 4.6 is included in the very valid category. While the level of practicality is as follows, the results of teacher responses with an average of 4.7 are included in the very practical category. Drumband music games with national songs are very important to develop because of their uniqueness, meaningfulness, and usefulness for students' development needs.

Abstract

The issue of low literacy skills among early childhood learners remains a critical concern in preschool education, particularly in recognizing letters, reading, and basic writing. Preliminary observations at TK Yunico, Jambi City, revealed that most children in group B1 had not yet achieved the expected literacy development indicators. This study aims to improve early childhood literacy skills through the use of a modified educational snakes and ladders game. The research employed Classroom Action Research (CAR) based on the Kemmis and McTaggart model, conducted in two cycles comprising planning, action, observation, and reflection. The subjects were 18 children aged 5–6 years from group B1, selected through a saturated sampling technique. Data were collected using observation, interviews, and documentation, with the main instrument being an observation sheet aligned with the literacy indicators in the Indonesian Ministry of Education Regulation No. 137 of 2014. The findings showed a significant improvement from the pre-action stage (30.6%) to the end of Cycle I (67.9%), and further to 86.7% by the end of Cycle II. These results demonstrate that the snakes and ladders game can serve as an enjoyable and effective alternative learning medium to enhance early literacy. The game successfully stimulated children's active participation, motivation, and engagement in foundational literacy activities.

Abstract

Tradisi bekarang ikan di Desa Pasar Terusan, Muara Bulian, merupakan salah satu warisan kearifan lokal yang diwariskan lintas generasi dan masih dilestarikan hingga kini. Prosesi ini dilaksanakan pada musim kemarau saat air surut di lubuk larangan, yaitu kawasan perairan yang dijaga bersama masyarakat sepanjang tahun untuk memastikan keberlangsungan ekosistem ikan. Bekarang tidak hanya dipahami sebagai aktivitas menangkap ikan, tetapi juga wujud rasa syukur kepada Tuhan, sarana memperkuat solidaritas sosial, serta bentuk kepedulian terhadap lingkungan. Rangkaian doa bersama, kerja sama saat proses penangkapan ikan, hingga makan basamo setelah kegiatan memperlihatkan integrasi nilai religius, sosial, dan ekologis yang menyatu dalam satu perayaan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa bekarang berfungsi sebagai media pendidikan budaya, penguatan identitas kolektif, serta pelestarian lingkungan berbasis adat yang tetap relevan di tengah tantangan modernisasi.
