Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of live streaming and electronic word of mouth (e-WOM) on purchase decisions through purchase intention among TikTok Shop users. The research employed a quantitative approach using Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with 162 respondents. The results indicate that live streaming has a positive and significant effect on purchase decisions but does not significantly influence purchase intention. In contrast, e-WOM has a positive and significant effect on both purchase intention and purchase decisions. Furthermore, purchase intention significantly and positively affects purchase decisions, confirming its role as a mediating variable. These findings suggest that while live streaming directly influences purchase decisions, e-WOM plays a more dominant role in shaping consumers’ purchase intentions.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the socio-religious paradox in Indonesia, where strong religious identities conflict with low levels of politeness in the digital space. Digital Civility Index data shows the rampant dehumanization, hate speech, and cyberbullying, which indicates the failure to internalize moral values into computer-mediated communication behavior. The main purpose of this research is to formulate a model for internalizing the value of Qaulan Karîma as a theoretical and practical solution to the ethical crisis. The method used is a qualitative-based literature study with a Thematic Tafsir (Maudhu'i) approach. The analysis was carried out by exploring Qur'anic verses related to Qaulan Karîmaand relating them to the dynamics of Computer-Mediated Communication (CMC) theory. The results of the study show that the internalization of values must be carried out through three transformative stages: cognitive-literative, affective-spiritual (through the concept of Digital Muraqabah), and psychomotor-habitual. The resulting communication typology comprises preventive, curative, and educational domains that serve as moral filters amid platform anonymity. This finding confirms that the character of polite communication is formed only when the value of the Qur'an extends beyond textual knowledge, becoming ingrained as a reflex of cyber behavior. The implications of this study demand reform of national digital literacy policies so that they do not focus solely on technical skills but also integrate the depth of religious spirituality into the character education curriculum. This model is expected to help build a more dignified, inclusive, and responsive Indonesian cyber ecosystem to address future challenges posed by information technology disruption.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of customer trust and perceived risk on purchase decision for Skintific products, with customer satisfaction serving as a mediating variable. The research employs a quantitative approach, utilizing purposive sampling to collect data from 160 respondents who are active users of Skintific skincare products. Primary data were gathered through structured online questionnaires, and the analysis was conducted using Partial Least Square Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS 4 software. The findings reveal that both customer trust and perceived risk exert a significant direct influence on purchase decision. Specifically, higher levels of trust positively drive consumers' buying choices, while lower perceived risk also significantly encourages purchase intentions. Regarding the mediator, perceived risk has a significant negative effect on customer satisfaction, indicating that greater uncertainty or potential drawbacks reduce overall satisfaction with the product. In contrast, customer trust demonstrates a positive relationship with customer satisfaction, although this effect is not statistically significant. Furthermore, the results of the indirect effect analysis show that customer satisfaction does not significantly mediate the relationships between customer trust and perceived risk on purchase decision. This suggests that the impact of trust and risk perceptions on buying behavior operates predominantly through direct pathways rather than being channeled through satisfaction levels. This condition may occur because skincare purchase decisions tend to be driven more strongly by perceived product efficacy, safety assurance, and visible results rather than by emotional satisfaction alone. Consumers are likely to base their decisions on tangible evidence of effectiveness and risk reduction prior to purchase, making satisfaction which is typically formed after product usage less influential as an intervening variable.

Abstract

In addition to its significant market potential, the Indonesian cosmetics industry is also a highly sought-after sector by domestic players, as it competes with various international brands. This study aims to determine the influence of customer experience and brand image, as well as FEAR OF MISSING OUT (FOMO), on repurchase intention for a skintific cushion product on the Shopee platform, mediated by cstomer trust. This study used PLS-SEM as the analysis technique and was processed using SmartPLS software version 4.0. The results of the analysis indicate that: Based on the data above, the analysis results indicate that customer experience and FEAR OF MISSING OUT (FOMO) influence repurchase intention, with customer trust as an intervening variable.
