Abstract

This work was created out of the author's interest in the world of video games and realized in the form of graphic art. In this video game, the author found interesting aspects of the Monster Hunter game, starting from its ecosystem, system, and the excitement of playing it. Until the point where the author encounters bosses in the game called elder dragons, including Gore Magala, Shagaru Magala, and Valstrax. This research aims to bring the world of the game to life as a work of art. In this research, the author created 15 artworks depicting monster forms, monster hunts, and tasks that monster hunters must undertake. In creating this work, the author used a pen with black and white ink, employing the cross-hatching technique. This technique helps the author create a dynamic impression, contrast, balance, and volume, and also makes it easier for the author to add depth to the shading in the created works. The result of this research produced 15 works with titles taken from several video game references and some tasks taken from monster hunters.

Abstract

The creation of this artwork was inspired by the artist, who is a native of the Batak Toba tribe from Pollung District, Humbang Hasundutan Regency. This area is known as a horse breeding region, which produces waste in the form of horsehide scraps. This waste is then utilized as an alternative medium for painting. The idea for the artwork was inspired by traditional Batak Toba games rich in cultural value. This research aims to visualize the form, historical background, and function of traditional Batak Toba games through paintings. In the creation process, horsehide and oil paint were used as media. Each painting depicts the visual form of the traditional game with a simple approach yet still reflects the characteristics and meaning of the games. The method of creating the artwork is based on the stages described by Hedriyana, which include five stages: preparation, elaboration, contemplation, the creation process, and completion of the artwork. The final result of this research is a series of paintings with various titles, as the author's visual interpretation of traditional Batak Toba games.

Abstract

This work was created based on the author's interest in ants, starting from their lifestyle, how they find food, size, and most importantly their shape. The author likes the shape of an ant's body which, when observed closely, turns out to have its own uniqueness in each type that is often forgotten due to its small size. The author is interested in raising the object of ants as a work of creation because the author wants to reveal the shape of ants that other people rarely realize. The work that the author created was made using the cross contour and pointillist techniques. The author uses a combination of these two techniques because these two techniques are very flexible for the author to use in drawing the shape of an ant's body, without the effects of color, only pure black and white shapes. The author created 15 works of art that display realistic shapes of 15 types of exotic ants in the world.

Abstract

Penciptaan ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi potensi beras sebagai media alternatif dalam seni kolase, dengan Objek Bunga sebagai sumber inspirasi utama. Penciptaan ini adalah upaya dalam seni rupa untuk memanfaatkan material yang mudah ditemukan dan ramah lingkungan untuk menghasilkan karya yang memiliki nilai estetika unik. Dalam menciptakan karya ini penulis menggunakan metode (Pre-factum, Practice-Led Research) Hendriyana (2021:10),Dengan langkah pertama dilakukan adalah tahap persiapan, selanjutnya tahap mengimajinasi (eksplorasi),tahap pengembangan imajinasi (Perancangan), Selanjutnya tahap pengerjaan (perwujudan). Berdasarkan langkah dalam proses penciptaan tersebut maka hasil dari penciptaan ini adalah serangkaian karya kolase dua dimensi yang tidak hanya mereplikasi keindahan visual bunga, tetapi juga menonjolkan kekayaan tekstur dari butiran beras. Kehadiran material organik ini memberikan dimensi taktil dan kehangatan, mengubah persepsi terhadap beras dari sekadar bahan pangan menjadi elemen seni yang ekspresif. Dengan demikian, penelitian ini membuktikan bahwa media sederhana dapat diolah menjadi karya seni yang bernilai tinggi dan membuka peluang baru bagi eksplorasi seni rupa kontemporer
