Abstract

Peran guru menjadi semakin penting, terutama dalam menangani anak-anak berkebutuhan khusus seperti anak dengan Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). Anak dengan ADHD memiliki tantangan dalam focus serta impulsivitas, yang berdampak pada proses pembelajaran mereka. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis strategi komunikasi antarpribadi yang digunakan oleh guru di sekolah umum dalam mendukung perkembangan perilaku anak ADHD dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus di TK Kesuma Bandar Lampung. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara mendalam, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa strategi komunikasi antarpribadi yang diterapkan meliputi komunikasi empatik, penggunaan instruksi sederhana dan berulang, penguatan positif, serta kolaborasi dengan orang tua untuk memastikan konsistensi pembelajaran di sekolah dan di rumah. Selain itu, tantangan utama dalam komunikasi dengan anak ADHD adalah keterbatasan waktu guru dalam memberikan perhatian khusus, kurangnya pelatihan khusus bagi pendidik. Hasil penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa hal ini berperan penting dalam meningkatkan fokus, mengurangi perilaku impulsif, serta memfasilitasi perkembangan sosial dan emosional anak. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan pelatihan khusus bagi guru untuk meningkatkan kompetensi mereka dalam menangani anak dengan kebutuhan khusus.

Abstract

Interpersonal communication strategies between parents and children play a crucial role in fostering openness, especially in military families characterized by strict discipline and hierarchy. This study analyzes the communication patterns applied by military parents in supporting children's openness and identifying barriers in family communication within the military dormitory environment. Using a qualitative phenomenological approach, this study examines parent-child communication experiences through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Specifically, Interpersonal Deception Theory (IDT) is used to understand how parents adjust openness in communication to avoid conflict or maintain family stability. The findings indicate that communication in military families relies on instructive, experience-based, and adaptive strategies, as well as the use of symbols and codes. However, overly formal and authoritative patterns can limit children's ability to express emotions and opinions. Parents often filter or simplify information about military duties and family issues, potentially reducing children's openness. Additionally, the hierarchical structure influences trust and emotional closeness. The study suggests that balancing authority with emotional support is essential to fostering healthy communication and ensuring a more open and supportive family environment.

Abstract

This study considers Transformative Learning Theory of online students. This research aims to evaluate the level of student satisfaction with online learning platforms and learning experiences during the novel coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic. Data were collected through a quantitative study applying online questionnaire carried out in December 2022 – August 2023, using a representative sample (N=104). Findings showed students highly satisfied with the online learning environment and with the school support during COVID-19 pandemic. This study also found that most of the students highly preferred the online learning or the blended learning classroom. The students highly preferred with Zoom as the learning platform and as a course delivery tool. The findings has contributed to the evolving of the Transformative Learning Theory, particularly in online learning in developing contries like Indonesia. This study provides implications to e-education, educators, education institutions, and website system developers of online learning sites dealing with materials and services.
